  1. Andy is a solid... not spectaculer guard. His forte is versatility, a good pass blocker and durability. He is an average run blocker. When one places Andy at the $8m threshold, to me, that devalues guys like Hutchinson and Faneca. Levitre is not in that class.

What I believe Andy's value to be, and I'll explain, is in the range of 4.5 to 5m. I'm thinking that if Andy left for more money (and that is rralistic), the Bills could fill his position in one of four ways and come out ahead.

    1) Sign Slaussen in free agency. His price tag would be more in the 3-4m range and the Bills get bigger, a more physical and better run blocker, but do concede some level of pass blocking.

    2) At #8 the Bills are going to have Cooper or Warmack available if they want. That fills the void and both have higher ceilings.

    3) Draft a LT at #8 and move Glenn to LG. They get bigger at LG and more physical.

    4) Move Hairston to LT and Glenn to LG. This is the "do you feel lucky" strategy. I throw this one in as an option because Hairston has shown flashes of pretty good play. He's also shown bad flashes. His hc was an o lineman and perhaps he can get him tp the next level.

I really see option #1 as the best. It keeps the Bills in play for Bowe, Cook or Keller , Ellerbe, and Barwin in FA (they could land 2 of those 5), plus allows them to fill big holes at NT, CB, & QB in the draft.

Signing Andy for $7-8m is really not a good value, especially considering this season is likely not to make the playoffs again this year.

Please not #2...this cycle of not signing our own and drafting to fill needs that walk just SUCKS!

  2. I still don't understand why the NFL doesn't make every player wear those helmuts with the extra padding AKA the "mark kelso" kazoo helmut? It seemed to work for him. I also remember a 49er lineman wearing one around the same time.

Plus if they ALL weren't on the untested PEDs they'd : weigh 20-25 lbs less, be slower, thus the hits wouldn't be as violent.

  3. Not saying I want Grimm, however the Cards drafted 1 offensive lineman in the last 3 drafts. One! That 1 lineman was the 151st pick Senio Kelemete in the 5th round this year. Hard to build a squad with that kind of attention.

My mistake. 2 offensive lineman. Bobby Massie in the 4th round (#112) this year also. But, my point is still the same.

+ Nate Potter in the 7th this year...just sayin

  4. We should trade our 1st for Cousins and their 2nd.

That way we dont 'lose' any picks (still have 7) and gain a player. If we draft 7 or 8 and the Skins are 20-25 that basically values Cousins as the 12 or 13 overall pick.

If what he showed this year was his Senior yr in college I bet he would be the #1 pick in this draft. Not bad value for us. And if the Skins have an opportunity to draft say, Mante Teo, by giving up a late 2nd and their backup QB - they just might do it. We could even give them TJ to replace Cousins as their back! :w00t:

I think TJ only signed a 1 year deal? So you can;t trade a free agent.

  5. Heard this one on the radio too. She said it's like a fishbowl too. It's "bama talk all the time and it looks like it's wearing on her. I think he'll be in the NFL soon. Just not here. Would love it, but not happening.

I think I read somewhere that he and Lombardi are looking into Cleveland. New ownership may want to make a splash.

I think he is a DBag for the way he lied to Miami and its fans (i LOL'ed though when it was going on). He would be a HUUUGGEEE improvement here.

Too splashy and expensive for RW so 0.00 chance of it happening.

  6. Well this is TBD,so we have all seen much worse ideas than this! Buddy said he wants a qb, there may be only 2 franchise type available next year. Drafting at 7-12 won't get us either of them. So would you rather have a Landry Jones type in the 2nd round or trade your 2nd for a guy you passed 4 times on the last draft?

I say swallow your pride/mistake and send them a 2 and a 6 for him. They need draft picks and we need hope!

  7. To all those who've said "Thank goodness for RW because he never moved the BIlls"

What other city in this great USA would put up with this GOD AWFUL MEDDLING OWNER and his $HITTY run organization for 50 + years?

  8. Miami, Indy, Jacksonville and St. Louis. Three of these are home and only Indy has a winning record. I think the Bills are trending up, both offensively and defensively, and I think they will win these. Not that 4-0 is probable, but it is realistic enough that it is worth discussing.

That would make them 7 and 6 and back in contention. These teams are all flawed much like the Bills but if the D can just get to average against some teams that are in the bottom 12 in scoring, the Bills offense is healthy enough to finish strong. It starts tomorrow night.

That's a pipe dream! When was the last time this franchise won 4 in a row in after Novemeber 1st?

  9. Pretty good history of espn and how it became the skip bayless, tebow obsessed mess that it has been the last few years. long read, but interesting if you are using them as a news resource. i definitely recommend it if you are among those typically mad at ESPN for hating the bills or buffalo.

    Good read,

I can't wait for the Kim Kardashian Skip Bayless hour of power. Sprinkle in some time w Stephan A. and what TP idiot wouldn't watch that show. Ratings people, Ratings!

  10. I was all for going after Billy Volek. The guy seemed like an absolute stud for the Titans when he was backing up McNair (RIP) and Young. Now, after seeing Fitz play so poorly I'm glad we didn't go after him. He would have probably been just as bad as Fitz. Then we would have had to go through Fitz like games two times. ugh! that'd be tuhrible.

If only the AFL and MIami would have allowed Ralph Wilson that MIami franchise...

  11. Arians is the guy that comes to mind for me as well, since he is not only a logical candidate but even one who is a likely one. The way I see it, if Chan gets fired that probably means that Buddy is gone too, which put Whaley in the driver's seat. Arians and Whaley both have the Pittsburgh connection.

Too bad Whaley cant bring the Pittsburg owners

  12. Ugh. This constant "I can fix this problem child!" attitude that they have comes across really smug to me. I hope he works out as well as Albert Haynesworth and Chad Ocho Cino did for them.

Well you can't blame him for trying. Everyone here on tbd thinks we draft way to many DBs. The Pats* & Bellicheat have swung and missed on a whole bunch of DBs in the draft. At least this will be an upgrade until he get suspended again.

Hopefully they gave up a 3rd but proabably just a 6 or 7.

  13. 3 Road games sandwiching a single home game in November will decide the fate of this team this season. To make it worse, the Texans and Patriots are leading their division and the Colts and Dolphins are no joke. If the team does not get it together in this stretch, then the 4 games at home in December will be meaningless. That is why that loss to the Titans hurts really bad.

    11/04 @ Houston Texans

    11/11 @ New England Patriots

    11/15 MIAMI DOLPHINS

    11/25 @ Indianapolis Colts

Your still thinking playoffs. How much koolaide did you drink? Have you watched this team?

  14. He's the DC for Atlanta already.

A coordinator from the outside wouldn't have time to install his schemes etc. If Wanny were fired the new DC would have to come from within.

Wanny's problem is he's too vanilla and can't/won't make adjustments. We need an agressive play caller that can make adjustments and fire up the front 7!
