i would be happy adding ingram to the d-line, anytime you get a talented player that is self motivated, has great character and work ethic it's a good day.

also lets not forget it's our BIGGEST need! I still think the pick will be a LT because Ingram might not be there @ 10.

He is also the lone dissenter that doesn't believe that Coples is the top DE prospect. So...either he is brilliant and EVERYONE else is wrong or...maybe this is one of the times that he is wrong and EVERYONE else is right. Just sayin'.
Even if he is the 'lone dissenter' Nix said he isn't reaching for a DE @ 10. So maybe he is the top DE where the DE's have lower grades than usual this year.
Still silly to trade up for Coples.

In today's NFL, and especially against the Patriots and whatever else the Dolphins or Jets might end up with, there are 2 key players that would solidify the defense and give us an awesome front 4. Chan and Buddy said we have receivers, so just let Vincent Jackson go. Mario Williams has to be top priority, whatever the cost. Next, we have to leap frog Miami and definetely take Quinton Couples. Buffalo is that close and with some long range signings of recent we can afford to lose our 1st and a 3rd or 4th this year and possibly a 1st or 2nd next year. As the Bills get better their draft position will lower; so, if the Bills make the playoffs giving up a 20 or back for 2013 is worth it for now. We can find a tackle in round 2 or FA on day 1 or after. We have to get to the QB's. Picture this: Mario Williams - Marcel Dareus - Kyle Williams - Quinton Coples - Nick Barnett - Kelvin Sheppard - Shawne Merriman - Drayton Florence - Leodis McKelvin - Jarius Byrd - George Wilson - Terrence McGee for nickel and dime. That is what I am talking about. Buffalo is moving forward by little leaps, that would be a huge bound.
Nix has said the Bills will not reach @ 10 for a DE and you want him to trade up? I don't think you and the FO are on the same page. That's proabably a good thing.
Mayock said he wouldn't take him in the 3rd round.

This happens every year, with every team. This is the nothing more than the sporting media that covers football trying to create sizzle to warrant them having a job as clearly everything coming out right now is completely fabricated by them.
Ofcourse no team is going to reveal their true intentions- unless you sit at #1 like this year and are leaning towards the rebuild with Ryan Luck as your QB (though I don't believe that the Colts have actually committed to that), or the Rams who sit at #2 and are publicly shopping the pick to acquire more as their team is in total disarray.
I think that there will certainly be enough quality players available at #10, Nix is not going to be telling us who they want, but they are also victim to the choices of the other 9 teams in front of them. If 3 of those 9 teams take LT's, then alters the talent available at #10.
There's no mystery. The team has a plan. No one is privy to those conversations or draft boards (and rightfully so), so to us it is a surprise.
I believe the Bills top needs to be pass rushing DE, LT, and CB. I think that we'll see one of those 3 positions- most likely LT- selected by the Bills at Round 1.
That's my point. By letting the world know they won't reach for a DE @ 10. Therefore, if your team needs a top 3 LT you have to jump to 9 to get one if 2 go into the 1st 8 selections (pretty likely?). Then that would leave us with a CB @ 10 and God knows that will UPSET a very large contigent of Bills fans. Or a reach for a WR.
-
Nix has basically stated that the DE / LB pass rushers in the top 20 are over rated and he thinks he can get some good players in rounds 2-3. Also, this years crop of DB's after the first 3 is lame at best and probably the reason he went after Routt so hard.
I would be surprised if the Bills draft a DE-LB-WR with that #10 pick this year, I'm thinking OT-DT-CB
I agree except that if they don't sign Stevie you can bet wr is in the mix @ 10. I'm also not sure DT is high on their list.

What did Buddy say that makes you think Martin is the target?
I haven't seen or heard the interview so I am curious as to what was said.
They do seem to be willing to give more insight into their targets than most teams do.
They totally telegraphed the Spiller pick and were pretty obvious last year as well (although last year's pick of Dareus was pretty much a no brainer)
Just reading his quotes in interviews. No exact quote saying he loves Martin.
-
I like it that he opens up about his thoughts(it keeps the fans updated), but doesn't this hurt them on draft day? If you want OT Martin (seems to be Nix's top rated after Kalil) you will have to trade up to 9 to get him or if you want a DE you will not have to worry about Buffalo taking one. In poker it's better to not show your cards.
Or is this all just a smokescreen? Does Nix even know what a smokescreen is?
Thoughts?

I thought Carrington was drafted to play the 5 technique in the 3-4. Wasn't he listed @ 305lbs last year? He's going to have to drop about 30-40 lbs or learn to play DT?
Troup was supposed to be a perfect fit for a 3-4 nose tackle. I think the switch here to a 43 dt will not be as bad as the switch or change for Carrington.

What do we have to lose???? He's better than anyone we have!!! He'll sell some season tickets!!! This team needs to make a bold move to show everyone we're serious!!! Ralph is cheap!!! I'm so done with this team!!!
Did I miss any?

Actually, you missed the "I'd give up a 4th, anything higher would be a waste" comment.

If Peyton was smart he'd want to go to Denver. Let Tebowie sit for a couple of years and learn how to throw a football.
That would be the best defense he ever played with, + the running game wasn't 1/2 bad either.

Direct tv and our local (Broward & Dade Counties) fox channel contract has not yet been renewed. So unless there is a last minute agreement the game will not be carried by Direct Tv here. One solution is buying a digital converter and rabbit ears. I am going to avoid this as they will proabably get this fixed soon (Maybe not by 4:30 though).
So I'm asking does anyone have an internet link for the fox games this weekend.
Thanks

Re-Sign Johnson. Sign DeSean Jackson. Draft Coby Fleener
Yes. Wrong Jackson, will not need him.

I like Fisher. He's a good solid coach. But there's something to be said about a coach who only puts his team in the playoffs 1 in 3 years on average.
As a Bills fan 1 out of 3 doesn't sound so bad.
He'd probably still be in Titan land if that owner wouldn't have shoved V. Young down his throat.
-
Matt that is a long list of HATE.
Mine are about the same (CowPukes, Phins, Pats & Jests). Hell I'm even beginning to dislike our franchise lately.
-
I believe Gailey is an excellent coach saddled with inferior talent and injuries. One good d linemen, no good o linemen, no good lbs, an average secondary, and one good wr. Which teams have inferior talent?
Gailey is also saddled with possibly the worst owner in the league.

If they are apart by 2 million apart, then the middle is about 8 mill per. That seems about right for his type of player. I say get ir done Buddy.
They can not let him walk, unless they are going to sign his relacement (Bowe or one of the Jackson's) ortherwise this is a complete fail by the FO.
You cant keep (attempting to) replacing positional needs with draft picks. The needs will never get completely filled. The FO has been spinning its wheels for WTFL.

I figured I would let you guys know first.
I have been working on getting a chance to work underneath Littman, and the internal Marketing team.
I will be thinking of new ideas to help promote the team, image, products, tickets, stadium ideas and rules.
They really liked my knowledge of the league, and the team. It has to be due to so much message board talk and discussions.
Any thoughts ideas, questions, or comments will be appreciated and presented to Management!

I think you mean Reggie Hammond from those 48 hour movies.

Keep him for depth? Stop making sense. This is the Bills and this is what we do.
First we let our starter walk creating another massive hole to fill. Then we draft another offensive tackle in any round from 5 through 7. Next our GM tells us he cannot fill all the holes in one year but we will build by the draft and keep our own (even though we very rarely do). After that we might even pick up a very old, washed up, third tier free agent OT that was never very good to begin with.
Next year, we will wonder how we got worse on the OL, just when it looked like the line was coming together. After the normal rash of injuries, when all else fails, we will sign a prospect off of a good teams Practice Squad and hope we can develop him. That way we can pay him minimum wage for a few years.
Well Said! That comes from the mouth of someone who actually worked in the Bills organization. Probably even met RW.

The Jests would be become a playoff contender. If he could learn their offense quickly and bench they "the Sanchize".

What is the percentage chance that Luck stays in school for 1 more year.He would've been the #1 pick in front Newton and he choose to stay. Maybe he stays if they don't win the National Championship or He doesn't get the Heisman. Or maybe he pulls an Eli and won't play for the Dolphins?
Either way I found myself hoping the doplhins would hold onto their lead.

If I was Buddy Nix....and just woke up from napping....On the first day of free agency, I would go after an aging veteran, who was a #1WR for our #2WR spot.
Chad Ochocinco looks like he won't be back in New England in 2012. It wouldn't be a bad move, if we signed this guy to play with Fitzmagic, who once played with eachother with the Bungles, for the remainder of his career as a Bill.
Is this what they call a "LEVEL"?

I think it's amusing how you can pick which columns on the TBD main page are written by Jerry Sullivan simply by reading the headline. I play this game whenever I come to TBD, then click on the article to see if I'm right. I invariably am.
Even his "positive" columns scream "Look at me! I'm compensating!"
I don't bother to read the columns anymore. He has nothing to say worth bothering about. The guy is a joke.
I'm don't even click on his link anymore because it's so easy to spot. He is the definition of a 'troll'. Sure, he was correct and spot on for the last ten years and this organization really made it easier for him. But it looks like we've turned the corner and he just can't/won't do the same.
Also, doesn't the Buff news keep track of how many "clicks" his stories get? So why help him if you can't stand him or his articles?

Plain and simple, we are a bigger and better football team than we were before Nix got here. In year 2 of the rebuild we can actually compete with any team in this league. So suck on it nancies and actually enjoy this winning record
So true and isn't it a great feeling!
Sigh, he still drafted him 9th overall with said 3rd or 4th best RB in the league on the team.
Listen he was good the last few years, but he is a different RB this year. He is clearly having the best year of his career.

Mcshay & Kiper is like having the stomach flu. It comes out of both ends and neither is very good.
