  1. Good 1st post. I would love to see Harris in red white and blue.

Just a couple of issues : 1st no need to draft a punter (already mentioned) 2nd Gaither can't seemt to stay healthy so i'd pass, and 3rd NO WAY MAYBIN makes the team next year especially as a backup and Moats seems to have more potential.

  2. Just focusing on the top of the draft:

2007 - Anthony Gonzalez, WR, RD1; Tony Ugoh, OT, RD2

2008 - traded away first round pick to 49ers.

    2009 - Donald Brown, RB, RD1

    2010 - Jerry Hughes, DE, RD1

All of these players are underperformers. Gonzalez is injury-prone and has been passed on the depth chart by Collie and Garcon. Ugho was drafted as the LT of the future and was released this year. Donald Brown was a total waste of a pick and has been supplanted on the depth chart by Mike Hart. Jerry Hughes is having a rookie year much like Maybin's 2009 - he is weak at the POA and cannot get on the field (and when he does, he isn't making a difference).

Just saying, with all of the Polian talk around here, it's worth bearing in mind that he has his share of misses. Perhaps having the best QB ever to play the game can make up for lots of bad personnel decisions.

The man is due to miss on a few picks every now and then. He has a solid team and can afford to do so. Also let's not forget that those "awful picks" ocurred @ # 28 or higher (just guessing as I didn;t look up the actual draft position of the Colts for the last 4 years.) He didn;t miss like we did @ #'s 10,11 & 12 the last few years.

  3. I'm always curious to know what would happen if the Bills just picked according to the prominent mock drafts out there. I mean, c'mon, they could not possibly do worse than what Modrak and his crew do? I realize you still need real scouts to interview players, etc.. but still, I'd like to know who the main mocks had us taking the last few years. That would be the simplest draft strategy of all!

Mayock's mock draft had the Bills taking Maybin.

He had Orakpo going @ 18.

  4. If you could change some NFL rules what would you change?

    I will propose a few:

    1) if you win a challenge, you don't lose a challenge in the future

    2) you can not call time out a split second before a FG

    3) make the goal posts closer together - Field goal kickers are now just too good and it prevents teams from going for it on 4th down

It's not a field rule but I would change the ownership rule to allow teams to be publically held ala Green Bay. Who wouldn't want to own a piece of your favorite team.

  5. Look not further than the Front Office Page on the Bills website to get a sense of the pecking order:

    http://www.buffalobills.com/about-us/front-office.html

I have said this before and I will say it agin - Jeff Littman should be set on fire.

I would love to get a hold the e-mails of most of the people on that list.

Also when you takes sides with an accountant over operational people you are a miser. You have to spend money to make money.

There are maybe 500 football people in the world, of which 10 might be great at it. And he picks the accountant of which there might be 10000 that are great. Nah couldnt find a replacement for the accountnant position.

  6. The Cowboys are one game better than us. The pre season darlings San Fran barely won their first game today. We have already faced our AFC East that is very powerful and the rematches await the final 3 games. Now the task is to really BILLIEVE that we can get to 500. But how and what could possibly be the rationale for this daunting task? I dont give a f**k what your opinion is of the Bills since the Jim Kelly years. This franchise is no tangerine Tampa Bay or the post #20 Detroit lions!!!This team historically scraps and fights under a north American winter sky. The players are not insulated from their fans by hiding behind red ropes and guarded skyscrapers ;They live with us and WILL get their lawns jungled and have their wings served small and NOT crispy. The reason why I bought my season tix again is bc the football has a component that the NFL has capitalized on and that is: WILL. The Will of men vs the Will of other men. Can this team WILL their asses outta this mess? Can this team hold together until the Drill of hope reaches them and and pull their asses up to the surface lol THIS YEAR. I aint no homer I just understand that it is very possible for this team to reach .500 bf we again face our divisional rivals. OK OK you wanna argue talent??? We have it!! View the totality of the team. Coaching? hmmm maybe but the season is long and im not overly impressed w/ a Shanny w a Mcnabb. Soo that leaves us w/ inexperience w/ a new system. Hopefully the kinks get worked out and the youngsters catch on as we face:

RAVENS: 50/50 a must win for us and their QB is showing inconsistency. We shudda took one from NE and NE beat these guys.KC: Chan shud be prepared for these early bloomers that are now slippin

    Bears: QB problems

LIONS: Draft, All the hype…They stink

BENGALS: We knock #85 the f**k out and he was ambulanced off the field last we played. This time that ambulance better have bunk beds.

Pittsburgh: We are due…at least for some twisted metal. The stadium is gonna go ape ****…with both fan bases haha exciting.

Cleveland: We win this time 3 to 2

I see 6 wins somewhere in there. Pitts and Balty being the headaches.

Now what is it that you see here.and you knuckle head bitchin and negative turds think about the cowboys, vikes and 49ers. Or just pop in ur jim Kelly glory day VHS tape. And scout the inconsistent QBs at the college ranks oops Colt McCoy did a fine job finally being one of the pack that got to play in week six only to lose. We are here bc Trent failed not bc of an old man that owns the team. I HAVE BEEN BUMMED but I see .500 bf the AFC EAST HITS AGAIN and im sure the players see it as well.

This is the best line of the week! Maybe the year. 50/50, of course there's only a 10% chance of that.

This may be better than thinking Maybin will eventually become a NFL caliber LB.

  7. +1. You can almost set your watch by Sullivan's whining. But I understand. He is getting paid to write something.

I understand, but 98% of the time its whiney and NEGATIVE.

He now thinks Spiller was a reach @ 9? WTF?

We should have cut Lynch when he didn't show up for the OTA'? Um we got draft picks for LYnch that's why you don't cut him! D-bag

  8. A buddy of mine thinks we should pick up Nate Davis off of San Fran's PS. Check out this 65 yard toss in preseason. Thoughts please...

I wouldn't mind that as an option. Pretty sure he he has a learning disability and it may take some time to learn this new offense, so I doubt this happens.

  9. Wow, another huge spread this week.

My brain says give the points but my heart won't allow it. Particularly against those !@#$ing cocksucking cheaters.

If Capt Terrible was the qb i'd lay the points all the way to the bank. I think the team sees the switch as a positive. It should get 1 player out of the box and open up the run game a little, not sure if it's enought to keep it close. If I had a gun to my head i'd take the points but I'll skip this game to see what the team looks like with a QB that WILL throw passes more than 5 yards past the LOS.

  10. Factoid of the Week That May Interest Only Me

Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com ran the team-by-team salary-cap figures on his site Sunday. What intrigued me is that the last two teams on the list -- Tampa Bay ($80.8 million) and Kansas City ($84.5 million) -- are 2-0, and two of the four highest-paying teams -- Dallas ($166.5 million) and Minnesota ($143.4 million) are 0-2.

In other words, lets give this small market team crap a break. How much more evidence do we need to indict Ralph Wilson on all charges of running one of those mismanaged NFL franchises in history. Aside from our Bill Polian orchestrated days of dominance, the Bills have been astonishingly mediocre. It all goes back to this guy. And without going on a rant about all of the examples of this, I'll just circle back to Peter King's column.

Unbeknownst to Peter, many of the players/coaches he has been praising frequently this season....shock...were once members of the Bills, written off by the management and sometimes by the fans. I'll just start with a short list, that will likely expand as the weeks go by.

    -Gregg Williams

    -Alex Van Pelt

    -Anthony Hargrove

    -Jabari Greer

    -Richie Incognito

Not to mention the huge list of young players PK mentions that were on record as supposedly being on the Bills radar on draft day, yet passed over in favor of the guys I need not mention.

Anyways, you can bash PK all you want. Don't care about that. I'm just using his column as a point of record. Fact is, I'm not so sure the Bills improve with the current ownership situation. Many players, coaches and GMs have come and gone over the course of the Bills history. But, there has been one common denominator. And I'm not sure anything changes until Ralph Wilson moves on.

The sample size here is to small to have a valid conclusion, lets wait a few weeks and hope Dallas really does suck. I think Tampa may be for real also.

  11. Since I don't live in Buffalo it's hard to see all the coverage on the Bills. I was wondering something.

During any of the interviews, did any reporter ask Trent why he ran out of bounds on 4th and 13? Why, he didn't just throw it up and hope something would happen?

Ditto for me being out of town. Did anyone ask Gailey what it would take to change Qb's or a question something along that line.

  12. Years ago the Saints fans wore paper bags over their heads. Maybe we can organize such a things amoung our fans. A sign of soilidairty and holding this team accountable for their actions. If nothing else it might make us feel better.

Only if you get a plastic bag...

I kid I kid (too easy to pass up hope you understand)

  13. Exactly. Vince Lombardi couldn't win with this collection of talent.

And for the "same team as last year" crowd, don't forget that two of the five best guys on offense from 2009 (TO and Butler) are gone.

And this genius new coach went back to CHECKWARDS. so that's actually 3 huge downgrades.

  14. You have to believe we are going to see a change at RT some time soon. Even Nix made fun of Green in his interview. The sad thing is Wang is really more of a LT. He is still a few weeks away from playing. Meredith is only 304, Wang is 301. Howard id the biggest at 314 but least experienced. Urbik is a possibility but does not know our system. I don't think there is anyone we can just pick up. I am thinking Meredith is the least worst option. What do you guts think.

Didn't Levitre also play some RT last year (or was it LT or both?)? Not sure but that thought should probably be in the mix as well. Then possibly put Urbik in as guard. I think finding a guard is easier than finding a RT.

  15. Along with QB, LT, RT, WR & DE. With Jauron gone at least we won't be drafting another DB

It was very upsetting to me when I had first found out the extent to which Jauron was given control of the draft thanks to Marv Levy. Even worse was that Tom Modrak was basically ignored on Draft Day in 2007 even though he had the title of assistant GM. Modrak was going to quit but Ralph Wilson met with him in Florida and talked Modrak into staying with the Bills and allowed Modrak to work out of his house which in the grand scheme of things was no big deal. I could never get any confimation that there was rift between Jauron & Modrak and Tom Modrak is too classy a guy to throw anyone under the bus but still feel there was more going on than what anyone in the public knew.

We now draft BPA (best player available) So there's a chance it could be a DB. We we're loaded at RB and took Spiller.

Let's hope BPA isn't a punter, cause I think Moorman has a few good years left.
