  1. #1 WR in yards/target with 50+ targets? Brandon Aiyuk.

#1 WR in yards/target with 40+ targets? Khalil Shakir.

His rookie season he led the NFL in being open against man coverage.

I think Shakir is going to have a huge season as well...

Over the last 10 games he had 535 yards receiving. If all he did was have that pace for 17 games, he would have over 900 yards...IMHO, I think he can be a 1000 yard receiver next year.

I’m sorry but to say the Bills are going to be better on offense without Diggs and Davis is crazy too me. I like Kincaid and Shakir but you’re not going to convince me having Diggs on the field didn’t open up things for them. I think Kincaid will be a stud for sure…but Shakir let’s pump the breaks on that.

Josh without Diggs on the field is still an unknown. Just a lot of question marks on the offensive side of the ball right now to say they are going to be better.

At this point it is...but we don't know what other moves Beane has up his sleeve or who we get in the draft so we can't say that isn't possible either.

Have to wait and see. As of right now definitely not. But this isn't the roster that will take the field in September either.

  3. I think a key point to remember is the Bills will be clearing over $10 million post June 1st once White's cap number hits and I would suspect Beane will actively be looking to use that cap space to add to the WR room, especially via trade. Would not be surprised to see Aiyuk a target. They could replace Diggs contract with a new one for him and be better off long term and possibly immediately as well.

    Interesting note...

The #1 WR in yards/target in the NFL last year for any WR with more than 50 targets?  Brandon Aiyuk...on 106 targets.

The #1 WR in yards/target in the NFL last year for any WR with more than 40 targets? Khalil Shakir.  Aiyuk was 2nd.

Don't discount a massive jump this season from Shakir to a potential 1,000 yard WR.  His rookie season he led the NFL in yards/separation per route run against man coverage. I think he is in line to become a major factor in this offense.

  4. That chart is old and doesn't properly value picks...many teams have moved on to ones using analytics that actually show how valuable those picks actually HAVE BEEN historically rather than using random numbers assigned to them 40 years ago that seemingly were made up out of thin air, which is why many trades don't seem all that aligned to that chart anymore.

Ooof. I mean it's the right thing to do.

I'm all for a trade up but I think we need to face that the Bills leverage is not great.

If the boathouse is stripped bare, we shouldn't go and get the 10th best receiver when the team can go back to the 33-38th range and get the 12th best receiver the youth movement can begin

There are probably 8 or 9 WRs this year that would be ahead of many WRs in the first half of the first round many years.

It's a very deep, very good class. I'd take WR at 1 and 2.

  6. And once again, the Bills fail by putting out a live feed that only lets you hear the questions being asked but goes dead while Beane is talking.  Epic fails, this has happened countless times and they still don't fix it. Found it on WGR550 live

  7. So let me get this straight...

We got a 2nd round pick(the Vikings) and traded Diggs, a 4th rounder this year and a 5th rounder next year? AND just took a $31 million cap hit this year too?

Are you fvcking kidding me?? Where is the money coming from to do this?

Now we are like $25 million over the cap again.

    Yea people are curious

But it's gonna be a 3-4 year development at least if it did work

Not many teams have 4 years to develop a PS level guy

I wouldn't waste a draft pick on him but would ask him to TC

Jason Peters was too...he turned out pretty OK...

He has amazing feet - I think he could do it.  The question is, will he have a better career playing in the European basketball league or maybe competing for a bench spot in the NBA (and being a bit of a journeyman) vs. practice squad NFL for several years before really getting paid.

I think a team would be interested enough to offer a pretty big signing bonus for a PS player...they count against the cap but there is no limit to what you can offer them. Some of those players get good sized bonuses.

  9. Wouldn't be the first College Basketball star to transition to the NFL...

Usually they end up at TE tho like Antonio Gates or Jimmy Graham or Tony Gonzalez...not sure I've ever heard of one becoming a left tackle before...

6'9" 275 lbs currently and his body is huge and could easily support 320+ lbs with likely little loss of mobility...

He has gotten the attention of NFL scouts, people in college personnel roles and GMs big time apparently with his performance at the tournament...dude looks like a ballerina in the low post.

I’ve mentioned they don’t want to change it. You apparently think it’s a good plan to continue as is. That’s fine. I just don’t agree. So agree to disagree.

They aren't interested in doing anything that will hurt the offense especially with the murkiness of how the play clock is restarted. Almost every rule change that has occurred over the past decade or more has been to add offense, why would they do something that works against that?

I have no misunderstanding. Zero is zero. It’s absolutely insane to have plays go well past that then create a big question . The league of course created this but it’s ridiculous. Get the play into the headset, qb call your reads, snap the ball.

Clearly you do because you are arguing something that the NFL doesn't believe can be fixed properly or want to fix it. Based on what was said by the former official they did in depth reviews of the process multiple times over the years and decided to leave it be.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to just remove the subjectivity attached to the play clock as well? If they can do it for the game clock they could for the play clock. That’s what frustrates many people. The NFL has enough ambiguous rules. Removing subjectivity where possible seems like a logical step.

Edit to add: The NBA doesn’t seem to have a problem with their shot clock. If it’s at 0 and the ball hasn’t left your hand, it has expired. The NFL should be the same way. If the play clock hits zero and the ball isn’t moving to initiate the snap, it’s a penalty.

I don't think it is practical honestly.  Sounds good in theory but won't work well in practice. The NFL has looked at this several times from what the former official said and they left it unchanged every time because of that.

So is it game clock or play clock?

    Game clock not play clock.

Spot the heck on!! Why did they ever build in the round off error on play clock is ok? So annoying to watch this ridiculous late snap bs. They have a clock, when it hits 0 the whole stadium understands a flag is coming 🤷🏻‍♂️.. seems logical!

No it's not spot on, it's misunderstanding how the play clock process actually works and how the the NFL WANTS it to work, erring on the side of the offense, and the gray area that has to exist because of it.  Both due to the backjudge having to look from the playclock to the center and due to the arbitrary nature of when the play clock is started by the operator, which isn't clearly defined and has wiggle room built in.

I think that’s what he means. We don’t have a problem with the game clock expiring before a play.

No that is not what they mean...it means game clock as in before the end of the quarter/half, etc..

Play clock is too subjective because of the way it is handled by the backjudge who has to look from the clock to the center and see if there is any movement of the ball and due to the kind of arbitrary nature of when it is restarted after the play by the play clock operator.  Technically the play clock could expire but because of the delay of the backjudge looking to the center to see, the snap could still get away and this is considered a legal snap and more importantly the NFL WANTS it to be considered a legal snap and err on the side of the offense.  They do not want more penalties on the offense that could reduce scoring.

There was a former NFL official on WGR the other day talking about this after they announced the changes and the reasoning behind why this only involves the game clock and not the play clock, since the game clock has no subjectivity attached to it.
