Cool. What team is Brugler working for?

As we all should know by now media and "experts" draft boards are very different than actual teams draft boards. Bet Brugler had T'Vondre Sweat and AD Mitchell taking up spots on his board as well. I can say with confidence that they (along with many other players) were off of team boards like every year. When experts say they have "150" draftable grades, it's not taking into account medicals, behavioral issues, scheme specific gradings. Many teams boards are much smaller

Exactly...all they can do is give a "general" grade based on "general" schemes but teams have specific schemes and specific traits they want players to have.

Have any lived up to expectations? We hit on some late rounders but it seems to a disappointing part of our draft. Hard to buy into any hype at this point. Hard to get excited about these picks.  The last guy day 1-2 pick that was everything we wanted out of him was Tre. Seems so long ago and that was Whaleys scouting staff

Yeah Ed Oliver sucks and so does James Cook apparently even tho he was 4th in the NFL in rushing and 6th in the NFL in yards from scrimmage.

Do you even bother paying attention to what you write or just post whatever?

I want the Bills to trade for Sutton -as per article: send Denver our 4th and 5th and get Sutton and their 6th.

We might not have a true #1 stud, but if Coleman shows out, we’d have a beast of a line up of WR’s and Kincaid and Knox (and no Prima Donna #1).

Teams arent deep enough to stop all that talent.

That was another NFL comparison for Coleman...Cortland Sutton and Drake London are the two most common ones I am seeing.

I think I’m a fan of it. Get more picks for next year to complete the rebuild

    It's not a rebuild, it's a reload.

Now I wonder if a team ever started a strategy to start taking a pick each year and swapping it for a round higher next year until they took a 5th or 6th one year and turned it into a 1st 5 years later...that might be an interesting study.

    that report has minimal overlap

The part about speed and separation is very similar

Amon Ra St Brown. The highest paid WR in NFL history.

Speed isn't the end all be all for WRs.

What a lot of people have said for a long time.  But then you get the people saying we have tons of holes to fill. And here we are, not using any of those picks to move at all yet.

I was almost positive we would have packaged some of those for an extra pick yesterday. Shocked it didn’t happen. Really hope we have multiple 4th rounders today. Again, we’ll see what happens.

The other thing they could do is trade a 5th today for a 4th next year to gain an extra pick next year at a premium.

  7. Well...this scouting report looks very similar in a lot of areas to Keon Coleman's:

    Weaknesses

Play strength might need upgrade against physical cornerbacks.

Press rides on him for early stages of the route.

Has had issues securing catchable throws underneath.

Very average foot quickness and long speed.

Could struggle to knock athletic corners out of route phase.

Below-average separation burst out of breaks.

Drifts into route turns at times.

Lacks stride to open up and find a second gear.

Very little grit in his run blocking.

Anyone care to guess what WR scouting report this was for?

My brother is convinced that the Bills are sort of evolving the passing game towards the 49ers scheme. Curtis Samuel is basically a poor man’s Deebo Samuel. He will be used to do a variety of things but isn’t a high volume target that Diggs was. Samuel is absolutely filling more of a Harty/McKenzie role than a Diggs role. He’s just a much better player than those 2.

The biggest problem at the moment with copying the 49ers is that they have a guy that the Bills don’t. Ayiuk average 18 YPC last year!! For perspective, Tyreek Hill has never averaged more than 17 YPC. Ayiuk is an elite WR that commands attention and gets down the field. It would be like copying the Chiefs offense without having a tight end.

Know who had the highest yards per target of anyone with 45 or more targets?

Khalil Shakir. Aiyuk was 2nd. Don't sleep on Shakir...expecting big things this year and he is going to catch a lot of people sleeping

That’s fine for a secondary piece. The Bills were lacking a number 1 & number 2 WR. They have some nice role players in Shakir and Samuel. Coleman feels a lot more like a role player than a guy at the top of the depth chart (where he is now).

Shakir is going to be much more than a role player. The advanced metrics on him are spectacular and are screaming to give him the ball more.

I totally agree, but why exactly have all 32 teams passed up on this guy 3 times.  I still think he can have an above average career in the nfl.

    Who knows?

All the teams did the same thing to Amon-Ra St Brown when he was drafted in the 4th round and now he is the highest paid WR in NFL history

  11. Well...there is no guarantee they are right either.

Plenty of round 4 WRs end up as really good players that would have been taken in the first round of there was a "do over" 4 years later.

I guess we would have to revisit it in 4 years to know, just like we would any pick really.

That isn't a surprise because he looks at his fastest to me ball in hand dodging traffic. My worry is not about how he timed or tested. It is about the lack of separation outside on the film.

That's fair but if they plan on using him down on fade routes and as a big Red Zone target, that wouldn't be too important since he would be going up to get it like he was back playing basketball and boxing out the DB.
