Jalen Hurts signed a bigger contract than Josh, and the Eagles just did this. That is reality too.
And they have 2 WR's that average a combined $57 million a year in AJ Brown and Devonta Smith to boot...they breaking all the rules.

Once defenses started building to stop the pass and starting quality WRs became plentiful in the draft, I knew the value of RBs was due to increase. In NO WORLD was Justin Jefferson worth $35M/yr versus Saquon Barkley at $13M/yr, that was just ridiculous. And even more a slap in the face contractually considering Barkley just won OPOTY and was in the mix for NFL MVP.
It’s a passing league, so I get that a WR will have slightly more value to an offense (say if Barkley and Jefferson were on the same team), but the contracts for the two positions had long been out of whack. Cook was the second best player on our offense this year, more valuable than Shakir, but we all (rightly) thought that Shakir at $15M/yr was great value while Cook at the same amount was absurd. Thinking that way was absurd, but it was made absurd due to the low money given to RBs.
Next up the WR contracts should come back down to earth a bit. If I was a GM, I’m not paying the position more than $30M/yr, I don’t care who it is. They’re still well overvalued considering how defenses now play the pass and the number of good to great WRs that exist in the league.
Think we are seeing that the league trends towards whatever teams think they can take advantage of offensively. With the advent of smaller, faster players and shell coverages, it has swung back heavily towards running the ball for good teams.

That is not "resetting" the RB market 😂
That's destroying the RB market...Cook is likely as good as gone now since he can easily argue he is worth $15 mil if Barkley is worth $20+ mil

Think that shows just how much easier it is to play D when your D-Line is getting after the QBs.

Pretty self explainatory. Was it McDole? He played LE. Hanson? Schobel? Hanson? Mario? Hughes? I was thinking about and realized that outside of Bruce and Hughes, the cupboard has been pretty bare at RE. The LE and ROLB (Paup) positions have fated much better overall.
Bryce Paup and not close. He led the NFL in sacks, something even Bruce never did somehow, and won DPOY.

Meh... Declining and often injured player...I am sure the 49ers are glad to have unloaded his contract.

Interesting note of "unable to secure NFL team following last year's Giants experience". Schoen and team really did get eaten alive on a number of points. The biggest one being the handling of Barkley, the owner saying he just doesnt want him in the division, and then the rest of the year playing out.
Schoen's classic line of "I'm not paying a $45M QB to hand off to a $13M RB"...
Guess no teams want to open the robe and show just how unsure the offseason really is.
Maybe you shouldn't be paying a $15M QB $45M? That's probably his first error.

I’m not wrong. You’re a homer.I've watched Allen comeback time after time only for his defense to fail him in the end. Hard to not be clutch when you score twice in the last 2 minutes to take the lead in a game only to watch your defense mail it in both times. Same in the Hail Murray game and the NE game they lost 2 years ago.
Allen has 21 game winning drives in his career, which ranks 11th among active QBs. However this list not surprisingly is dominated by QBs that are in their mid-late 30s and early 40s, such as Stafford, Carr, Rodgers, Wilson, Dalton, Cousins, Flacco and Tannehill. The only 2 QBs that are in the same age range as Allen for this are Mahomes and Prescott who both have 23, meaning Allen is 2 short of them.
Considering Allen has far fewer opportunities than these other players because the Bills blowout teams so often, his percentage of game winning drives to opportunities has to be pretty damn high, maybe higher than anyone other than Mahomes. This refutes your notion of him not being clutch.

Tom Brady is considered clutch because:
- Adam Vinatieri made 3 Field Goals
- Pete Carroll called a pass instead of a run
- Julian Edelman made an inexplicable grab after Kyle Shannahan had a meltdown play calling
- The Rams scored 3 points
- The Chiefs offensive line was absolutely man handled
Josh is not considered clutch because:
- 13 seconds
- Bass missing a FG
- Kincaid dropping the ball on a play where no other QB even gets a throw off.
Narratives are interesting...
Add in Tuck Rule for Brady.

I don’t expect many to agree with me and I’m sure most people realize that I couldn’t give a rat’s ass.
He’s not clutch.
In fact, he caves in big moments.
It’s a glaring weakness and it’s A … not THE … big reason we haven’t been able to get to the Super Bowl AND a big reason we’ve only been able to get to the AFCCG twice.
I’m just telling you how I see it. I’m not asking anyone to agree with me.
That's fine that you see it that way but you are simply wrong.

Wide open in the end zone, incomplete. That's what I saw, & it sucked.
Yes...because Chris Jones, our arch nemesis, shoved Dawkins directly into Allen's left shoulder causing his throwing motion to get truncated as he stepped to throw and forcing his arm down quicker that it normally would have. Half second and it's a wide open TD. Physics can be a b***h sometimes...

I’m specifically to postseason. Recent postseasons. So he is a half second from a TD to Shakir to take the lead when Dawkins gets shoved into his left shoulder and Bass misses a very makeable FG 2 years ago...and this year he still gave Kincaid a pretty decent chance to come down a ball on a play he had no business even getting off with the jailbreak that happened as the Bills blocked nobody on the play...
I'm not saying everything is perfect, but even in these situations other players share quite a bit of the "blame" if we are doing that.

None of Allen’s stats are concerning.
What is concerning is that he isn’t being great when we need him to be great.
If we’re down by 3 with more than two minutes in the clock, we should feel confident that we’re at least going to overtime.
Nobody is confident in that.
Not being accurate isn’t the problem.
Not being clutch is the problem.
You must have lost your mind...Allen has produced in the clutch far more than hasn't.

Just because you are a great team doesn't guarantee you anything. Luck is a huge component that many people fail to realize plays a vital role in any championship run.
-
Bryce Paup without question.

In 2024 with Allen playing the Bills were one of the most efficient offenses in the history of the NFL and averaged 31.8 points per game. For all of Brees great completion percentage years, he basically only had 1 year that was like this one, in 2009 where they averaged 31.9 points per game.
What I am saying is that points scored matters a lot more, Allen may get slightly higher but he throws the ball away quite a bit so that likely will limit how high he can go.

How is this possible I thought Tremaine was the youngest and only getting younger?!?!
Is that just last year?? I can't imagine it's an NFL all-time record, he is 23 years old. Edmunds would have likely had multiple seasons like that before that age.

I don't understand why leagues are in such a rush to get rid of one of the most exciting plays in sports. I truly don't. I realize that the Steve Christie sneak onside kick may be over and done with forever, but please, football leagues, allow onside kicks throughout the entire game.
How is it exciting? It's success rate is like 5%, meaning you already know the outcome 95 times out of 100 which makes it one of the LEAST exciting plays in football. Would be like saying the old XP from the 2 yard line was "exciting" when they made 98% of the kicks.

Dude is a punk and is injured way too much for my liking. Doesn't even have last year's injuries in there but a concerning trend is that most of the multiple games missed(add in at least 9 from last year to the below) have come within the last few years, meaning his durability is decreasing. Counting the end of season injury, he has missed at least 31 games in the last 4 seasons, which is almost half of the games. No way I am risking paying big money to a guy who is out half the time.
Extremely hard pass for me.

probably signs with 49ers or Seahawks and they trade Metcalf.
