Perhaps, but that Kickoff return by the Jets was a serious kick in the groin, too
Yeah, I remember that one all too well...
We had fought back to tie it in regulation and then opening kickoff in OT goes the distance...
-
He was great until the Music City Miracle and then he oversaw a series of disasters, as I rememeber, like the kickoff return by the Jets to win the game in OT, or late in reg, I forget which. And there were several others
Perhaps today might be his worst day since the Music City Miracle then...
-
Didn't he get run out of Buffalo because his ST units sucked @ss??? Guess we see just how far he has come since that time...perhaps he has gotten worse??
-
Hahahaha...I love it...also said how they wanted to leave Taylor, their ball dropping WR, Plackemeier, their horrible punter and their ST coach in Buffalo...numerous mentions of how Stroud was a monster and how he manhandled their guard...
many called it the worst game they have ever watched...
I couldn't help but read it all and smile...

1 - Not to be sanctimonious but some of the "rejoicing" to Brady's injury is pretty damn classless. Bills fans pride themselves on being the best in the league, and that reputation has take a few painful hits today.
2 - That said. This is a team that nearly went 19-0 last year. 19 and frickin' zero. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised they will game plan and rally to a 10-6 or 11-5 record AND beat the Bills at home. Say what you want, but the Pats are a damn good team and Billy B is a great coach.
Don't book your flight to a division championship just yet.
1 - F that...noone on the Pats seemed too worried that Wilfork intentionally cheapshotted Losman's knee last year...karma is a bee-yatch...only better thing could have been for Stroud to be the hitter...
2 - Yes, they are still good, no one is disputing that, but they are now beatable. With Brady they were clearly the AFC East champs. Without him, they still may win the division, but now the Bills and Jets have as good a chance as they do to win it, IMO, and you can take those 2 sure L's off the Bills schedule and replace them with winnable games. Matt Cassell is a decent backup, but he is nowhere near Tom Brady's class...especially considering there were widely circulating reports out of Pats camp that he was going to be cut because they were unhappy with his performance....
-
oh well. he can get a lot of "servicing" from giselle during rehab. not the worst thing for little tommy
hopefully Brady is not too small...she is gonna have to be pretty good at holding onto the back of the chair while bouncing up and down off the floor to avoid the knee....hopefully she has strong quads!!

Stroud was an absolute monster in there today...I cannot believe how effectively he clogged the middle of the field...in hindsight I am so glad we did not get Rogers and he went to the Browns...they were getting gashed up the middle all game long by Barber and Jones...
-
I think it basically takes the AFC East from the Patriots being champs and everyone else playing for 2nd place to a completely wide open division where any of 3 teams(Pats,Jets,Bills---sorry Fins, you still suck) can win it...
Also basically takes 2 sure losses off the Bills schedule and replaces them with very winnable games...

i really don't think any of these names are surprising - 53 man roster means 8 guys have to sit.......they have to come from somewhere
it's a damn shame that crowell wasn't one of those inactives today
Actually only 7...you have 45 plus the 3rd string QB who doesn't count against it...
-
Kerney, Tutupu, ???, ???
Petersen and Trufant are both pro bowlers as well...
-
Wow!!! Special Teams doing it again...what a freaking call....how easy was that?
-
Ouch...I thought that might happen to Burleson...he was limping after his last punt return on the sideline...
-
Michael Turner...10 carries, 135 yards 13.5 YPC 2 TD's for Atlanta against Detroit...
sounds like a typical Madden game
-
Hasselback is 6 of 20 for 84 yards and 3 sacks....he made a nice throw to Burleson for a TD although Greer looked like he mistimed it or something because he should have at least broken it up...he was in his hip pocket....the play before that should have been the TD as Pozluszny blew a coverage and Burleson was wide open and let the ball bounce off his facemask...
-
We are looking pretty good so far...especially on D...need to really put the hammer down on Hasselback...they will be in almost pure passing mode in the 2nd half...lots of time for sacks here....

Everyone should have known as I have been saying since the beginning that no NFL player will miss a game check...it would just be sheer stupidity. Peters played all the cards he had and at the end of the day, his deck ran out...

I've met Schoop in person and he is one of the biggest dorks I have ever seen. He was the guy that was shoved into lockers in high school. Obviously, the reason he seems to demean everyone over the phone.
Schopp does sound like a total @ss on air...he seemingly always has some smart comment about why the previous caller is an idiot and how their opinion is worthless, and that any who disagrees with his obviously correct opinion is a total idiot and shouldn't bother calling. Bulldog just kind of goes with it for the most part, but every once in a while he disagrees...I have to say these guys are way WAY WAY better than that moron Corey Griswald who is on at nights sometimes...
As soon as I hear his voice on, WGR gets shut off...I just can't even take more than about 5 minutes of his screaming and ranting and raving about every single thing...its just SOOOOOOOOO annoying....does anyone else turn off WGR when this numnut is on?

Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions. The Bills are only carrying five LBs. Now with Crowell out, we are short-handed. Waiting until three days before the start of the season sucks. But Crowell probably cost himself a serious payday by doing this.
Bottom line is, this is a lose-lose situation.
Well, here is what I am not understanding...
We have a 53 man active roster. However, on game days, the active roster is trimmed to 45 players, with the other 8 player being inactive for the game. So, with Murphy, Fine and Crowell out, we would still have 5 other players who would be inactive anyways for the game. So instead of having a choice of 8 guys to activate for game day, the coaching staff would only have a choice of 5 since the other 3 are injured.
This makes no sense...Only 45 players play anyways on game day. They still have a minimum of 5 other players who could fill his game day roster spot. How they can make up some mumbo jumbo about not having enough players is ridiculous...there will be 5 other healthy players sitting around on the sidelines doing nothing this Sunday since they can't play anyways...
The Bills easily could have kept Crowell on the active roster----they just chose not to. There must be a reason for it, and I'm sure it will be coming out the next few days...basically there is the reason they are telling us, and then there is the real reason, which they haven't told anyone yet.
Very frustrating to see...

Unbelievable...they did the same thing with Poz last year, although his was a little bit longer time table for a return...Do our 52nd and 53rd players playing 6-8 plays a game(probably kickoff coverage) warrant putting a starting LB and a key component of the defense on the shelf for the entire year when he is only going to be out only 2-4 weeks?? I strongly doubt it. Is Blake Costanzo or whoever they get to replace Crowell's roster spot a player the Bills can't live without for a few weeks?? Not like Crowell would have been gone for 10 weeks or something...If anything why wouldn't they put Fine on IR?? He has what sounds like the more serious of the injuries....
Now, I am not saying Crowell should get a free pass on this whole thing...the guy has a responsibility to play football and take care of what he needs to take care of before the season starts. If he really was that injured during camp, why wasn't the procedure done then? Why wait until 3 days before the season to get it done? That shows a pretty poor commitment to the team and his teammates to do something like that---thats pretty shady on Crowell's part. However, the IR thing was a complete overreaction by the Bills---unless Crowell said something mouthy to them like "I really don't care what you think, I gotta make sure I am ready to hit the FA market next year and get a big contract...my loyalty is to my wallet, not the Bills..." Something must have happened between the team and Crowell, because this just doesn't make any sense on its face...
Player 53 on the roster could be missed on the roster with little to no effect...its not like he is going to be in on any plays anyways...

Agreed but hey if this was madden i might do it, sign moorman to a one year deal, trade him off resign him in the offseason. Works every time
If it was Madden you could just punt it with Moorman, then make the tackle with Moorman causing a fumble everytime and then pick it up and run it back for a TD like 3 times a game, even tho this play has never occurred in an NFL game under the current rules...

If it isn't, I can't imagine another place with more/better festivals than we have here...
Taste of Buffalo gets about 500-600K people, same for the Italian Fest. CanalFest gets about 250-300K. Chicken Wing Festival was at 75-100K. Toss in the Erie County Fair, which is basically a glorified food festival, and the various other smaller festivals like the Polish, Greek, Peach(in Lewiston---it rocks!!), etc and our food festivals probably draw well in excess of 2-3 million people per year...
Most cities would love to have a festival the size of one of ours, but to have this many has to make us the king of food festivals in the US...
-
The city with the best food festivals in the nation(Buffalo) will kick the music festival city's(Seattle) arse!!

McCargo was a force in a lot of games last year, getting into the backfield repeatedly...
not sure how someone who does this can be a bust...
-
Only a cup watcher or someone with very lame sense of humor would say that.
wasn't that your car I saw parked outside the Cathode Ray a few days ago with the bumper sticker saying "Cowboys butts drive me nuts!"?
OT: Don't look now, but New Orleans is about to get nailed again.

If projected paths hold true, Hurricane Ike is going to be bearing down on New Orleans again by Thursday...this one looks a lot worse than Gustav too....has already devastated the islands it has hit....
