So in our standard front... Carrington and Kyle Williams are to blame? Though, we change where guys line up quite a bit, so I'm not really sure what to make of it. I can deal with 3.96, 4.2 and 3.0, but the 7.16 and 6.25 are inexcusable.
Having broke down carries for each team and the NFL as a whole many times for a football game I was working on, its pretty normal...vast majority of attempts are runs between the guards for every team

Marrone seems really friggin smart telling Mario how get more sacks then he ends up breaking a franchise record. Is he a genius or maybe just psychic?
He was an offensive lineman, coached o-line
and knows what to look for technique wise to beat them

I for once am glad to see a coach coaching the players before and after plays. We may finally being getting closer to that light at the end of the tunnel we have been looking at for the last 13 years.
You mean standing on a sideline motionless like Jauron and Gailey assuming everyone knows what to do isn't how to coach?? Who would have thought??
-
Particularly on the defensive side of the ball Pettine has assembled a staff of assistants who are doing a great job at coaching up players like Leodis Mckelvin who for once looks dare I say dominant because of coaches like Donnie Henderson. There's a marked difference in the attitude of players and they are buying into Pettines system. This is why I believe it won't be long before this defense becomes dominant.
LV
Yup, Donnie Henderson was a DC with the Jets previously, he knows his stuff...the fact Pettine brought over quite a few Jet positioncoaches that knew exactly what he wanted from his players didn't hurt either and may be just as important

Not anymore.
I also agree that Geno has been left out to dry. Of course, the Jets have been taunting about how they're coming for EJ. I want to see the Jets keep throwing Geno into Mario all game
Wouldn't go that far, Richardson is averaging 3.5 YPC for his career and is a liability in pass protection.
Vick Ballard was pretty good last year...

I have seen Luck play in person twice... dude is NOT average. He is an all-out stud who makes things out of nothing. His OL is very limited and has has NO running game. He is a very intelligent and gifted QB, and while Manning is the gold standard I do think he has a chance to be as good.
I saw him against the Bills and wasn't overly impressed. Wasn't impressed with his 55% completion percentage or 76 QB rating last year either.
And yeah those 7 game winning drives are nice but he is part of the reason they are in that position of being behind to begin with. Those are also unsustainable over a long period of time, which is why I think the Colts finish 8-8 this year

I don't understand how anyone can extrapolate on how Geno Smith is going to be based on the patriots game. Yeah, he had a bad game. He also had a good first game against a team with probably the best secondary in the league.
The reality is that he is a rookie, and, like EJ, both are going to have some good games, some great games, and some awful games. If EJ doesn't have a 3-pick game at some point this season, I will shocked. Andrew Luck has three 3-interception games last year.
Maybe on paper TB does, but Revis is a man corner, not a zone corner like they are using him now. Two totally different skill sets, and one he may not be suited for, which may explain why he is so frustrated two games into the season already.
Luck SHOULD be a lot better than he is. I'm sorry but for someone who is supposed to be the next coming of Peyton Manning, you shouldn't look like some dude off the street for the majority of the game and then have one great drive at the end to win it. Wilson, Tannehill and RGIII all looked better than him much of the time.
He also didn't have a great game against an atrocious Bills D and probably should have lost that game.

I think you're missing the point of "at times"
I LIKE the choice the Bills made. I'm happy they took Manuel over Geno. I think he's a bit more talented, has a better attitude and charisma but owes a great deal to the coaches not trying to rush him while he works out rookie mistakes. The difference is that the Jets have momnts of throwing their QB's to the wolves, as people accused them of doing to Sanchez last year. They push too much, let them get pounded and the fans scream for the backup when things don't go perfectly.
Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance...I doubt you'll ever hear EJ give a soundbyte like Geno did prior to the TB game...
-
You could argue that EJ does the same at times (like the TJ throw). The difference is that usually even if he's off, he throws to places where his receiver can at least fight for it, or be the only one in position to make the play. I remember one Geno INT that was just hideously underthrown.
You could but you'd be wrong. That throw to Robert Woods for a TD against NE was a direct result of him looking off the safety
-
Huh? Smith Basically looks for his first read, if he isn't open he panics, starts running for no reason, and more often than not runs into the pressure.
I wasn't impressed at all against New England, in fact he looked God Awful.
His 55 QB rating isn't for no reason, its well deserved.

We really don't need 200 Byrd posts. He will be back in a few weeks, maybe less ans it will be amazing how fast we forget about this. Remember Mario's wrist injury? Skelton for Mario? Yeah...same thing. I would rather have let Levitre walk. He was vocal he was leaving.
Well, Tennessee disagrees with you...
Chris Johnson still averaging under 4 YPC

Not dumb at all. It was a poor pick, they're salvaging what they can from a crappy pick. And what about Indy? Who trades a first roundpick for a running back? An unproven running back
Kind of dumb on both sides, Indy should have took that pick and used it on someone who could play some defense unlike anyone else on their team.
-
This is why bad teams stay bad doing stuff like this. Essentially, they traded the 3rd pick in 2012 for somewhere between the 15th-25th pick in 2014. Just dumb.
-
Isn't Donnie Henderson, the old D Coordinator for the Jets our DB coach now?
-
The opposing defensive line isn't the only thing Fred has been plowing through apparently, lmao...
-
In comarison, last year the Bills allowed 5.6 yards per play, 11th worst in the NFL, although teams only averaged 65 plays per game against the current 83. If this trend continues, the D will see almost an extra 250 plays this season, equivlaent to an extra 4 games!! That's kinda crazy...
-
Yeah I know we are ranked 19th or whatever in total D, but to me, its much more important to look at yards per play against to get an idea of whats going on. We faced 89 offensive plays against New England, which really skewed that number, and of course we are going to give up a lot of yards doing that.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/stats/teamsort/NFL/O-TYDSG/2013/regular?&_3:col_1=6&_3:col_2=6
Right now, the Bills are ranked 5th(tied with Pittsburgh) in the NFL in yards per play, at 4.5 yards per play on defense. Kansas City(3.8), the Jets(3.9), Cleveland(4.2) and Houston(4.3) are the only teams ahead of them.
Even more impresssive is the Bills are doing this while having played the most defensive plays in the NFL through 2 weeks, at 165, which gives the opposition an advantage in potentially tiring out the D and also a greater chance of breaking a big play.
It is concerning however, that the Bills are allowing the 3rd worst(tied with Cleveland) 3rd down conversion rate in the NFL at 50%. If they could improve on that, they would go a long way towards improving their ability to limit the plays against on D, with only St. Louis and Chicago being worse(both at 51.9%).
Also a concern is they are allowing more first downs per game than all but 4 other teams(Philadelphia, Washington, Denver and Minnesota) at 25.5 per game. However, this is only slightly above the league average percentage wise, as they are allowing a first down on 30.9% of plays(51 FD/165 plays), versus the league average of 29.6%(1272 FD/4299 Plays), and will likely continue to get better as the year goes on.
The Jets are actually doing a phenomenal job on D limiting first downs, allowing only 17.3% of the plays to go for first downs, which is best in the NFL...
This is not going to be an easy game, we have our work cut out for ourselves on Offense...
-
Huh, not understanding the title...even if it was ruled a fumble it still is considered a sack
-
Lmao the only thing Geno has shown he is great at so far is throwing mind numbing interceptions, running for no reason if his #1 progression is covered, showing zero pocket presence and running into pressure instead of away from it...
Oh yeah, also great at compiling the worst completion percentage and rating of any starting rookie QB after two games in the past three seasons as well...

I rented a car for a day from Alamo at BUF for the opener for $37 including taxes. Cheaper & more flexible when I considered taxi costs
Good call...I'd go this route
-
But that brings back the point of just how important is LG? Brown has had what might be two of the worst games for a guard this season, and yet the Bills are doing well running the ball and EJ rarely has been pressured, and his only sack came off a poor block by his FB on a safety blitz...
Apparently his poor play is not hampering them too much...
-
Searcy drove me mad in preseason, but they seem to have not used him in that same role. He looks a lot better attacking the line of scrimmage. When Bryd comes back it will be interesting to see him on the field with Searcy (SS,LB), and A Williams (SS,CB). If Bryd can play center field, it could help disguise coverages in Nickel, and Dime.
Searcy seems to be a player that brings it on Sunday when its gametime...

Didn't show that, but a must watch video for sure.
This is my formal request for Davspo, The big cat, and Curtibas thoughts on said video.
The worlds worst not true #1 wr got it done this weekend
. That being said him and woods are probably 1 and 1a after woods gets a few more games under his belt.
Go bills. 3-1 coming up
Jets and ravens r trash this year IMO...step it up Hackett and we should be just fine.
Not a true #1, just that no CB in the NFL including Revis and Sherman can cover him one on one.

Has anyone ever taken a cab from the stadium to the airport following a game? How much should I expect to pay?
Not sure what the rates are now but probably in the 40-50 dollar range if not more...prob could work out a deal with one of the cab companies if you call ahead
Who tops your list of "he's just not cuttn' it?" Who d

Bradham played a handful of snaps in the Patriot game and only one snap in last weeks game due to the matchups they wanted...
