I think this is a team that after 5 games is still seeking to nail down its identity. There have been flashes of brilliance and flashes of idiocy. The injuries they are dealing with now show that with certain players in the lineup they can be a dangerous team and when they're out, they struggle. That's fairly common in the league. People mention next man up all the time but rarely is it such a smooth and easy transition. I think this team is in good shape and will continue to grow and develop.

Not an attack on the OP but I don't understand people who let themselves get all worked up by writers and radio hosts etc. The jobs they have require them to be controversial and questionable because without that, they become irrelevant. There are plenty I don't care for and that's ok, I don't get worked up if I accidentally read a Rodak or Sully article or listen to Schopp and the Dope. It happens, I just shake my head at what I read or heard and move on. Personally it's just not that high on my list of things to stress and get worked up about.

I don't think it's necessarily an honorary captain thing. I think it's more of trying to get different players to step up into a leadership role. With FJ gone and Kyle short on his career this team needs leadership. So where it's a switch from what was done previously, I can see the benefits of doing it this way and don't really see where it can have a negative impact. The leaders in the room now aren't going to be offended because they don't have the C on their jersey. They're going to continue to lead because that's what they do.

Is there a plan to make permanent captains? Or is it just been game to game?
