  1. Dude, totally agree. The Atlanta summer heat is just miserable. The air is stagnant, absolutely no breeze and mid 90's by noontime. And NOONE is outside in this mess. And by midsummer, the pools are TOO HOT to swim in from the neverending heat. I love the cold winters, and there is almost no COLD days in Atl. The best thing the South has to offer over Buffalo is the WOMEN. Nothing against anyone who has a Buffalo woman in their life. (I am sure there are SOME attractive ones) But on the whole in my opinion Buffalo has some of the ugliest women collectively that I have ever seen. The gene pool for beauty is just not there. Anyone want to flame away they can. But I have to go jump in my pool because I am too hot.
  2. Totally agree about the heat being brutal in the South. I live in Atlanta and it was 98 degrees yesterday afternoon and was still in the mid 80's around midnight with plenty of humidity. The air was just stifling like you were walking in a blast furnace. It should stay that hot for the next few days. It is not always THAT HOT, but there are many days like that well into September EVERY year. (I remember two summers ago when the temp guage in my car said 106 when I was driving on the highway-and my son had to start training camp for pee wee football in that heat!!) That being said I went to middle school and high school in Buffalo from 76-83, than went to college in Michigan and than moved to Atl. in 87, so I have been away for a long time. My mother has stayed in Buffalo however. This past Feb. I took my three kids up to Buf. for a visit and just had a blast. The people were very friendly, and the charm and quaintness that the area still had was very cool. It still feels like a large small town. I just got a sense of pride in the community from everyone. It made me very proud to tell my kids this is where I grew up. I doubt I would move back up there because I have a successful business in Atl. But I think that Buffalo has a lot of positives to it if you can get a good paying job there. And I will always consider it MY HOMETOWN!!! And to be quite honest, living in the heat is very overrated. I miss the cold of the winter.
  3. Because the guy who he killed walked in front of Stallworth's car. It wasn't like Donte ran a light, or drove up on the curb and creamed the guy. I believe there was some very strong contributory negligence on the victim. Nonetheless, it is a sad situation when anyone is killed like that.
  4. I believe that was the end of Anthony Phillips career if I am not mistaken. He was really never able to come back completely from such a devastating injury. And I think the guy was a pretty good player. Thanks for the nice recap of that game. It was actually quite an exciting game, as most of our games used to be.
  5. Anthony Phillips-DB for the Falcons. That was a tremendous game at the Ralph in the 95 season I believe. Kurt Schultz intercepted Jeff George in the end zone to seal the victory.
  6. Seriously, how old are you? Have you graduated high school yet? I sincerely hope not because if you are older than 18, than you are either totally inmature or have an IQ of about 52. Either way, why don't you go post on some Cartoon network or nickelodean message board where you can also exult the greatness of Hannah Montana or the new Transformer movie? You embarrass yourself and everyone who is a Bills fan with your nonsense.
  7. Football is a physically brutal game. Once you suffer a serious leg injury, be it knee, ankle, achilles, etc. it is very difficult to come back and play at the same level as before. Not impossible but difficult. (See Sam Cowart, Takeo Spikes, etc.) At his absolute best Crowell was a good but certainly not great player. And his tackling skills were abysmal. I don't think the Bills are all broken up that Angelo Crowell is no longer a member of their team. Does anyone really think he is going to do much the rest of his NFL career?
  8. Why should Ralph invest in something that is not going to give him a good return? Would you invest in something that would not make you a good return on your investment? I sure hope not genius. Do you think Jerry Jones built his palacial stadium to lose money? HELL NO!!! But any word about a potential new stadium for the Bills in the Buffalo area is great news even if it may be a pipe dream.
  9. Jason Peters is terrible. Do any of you actually watch the O-line play during a game? Why do you all think he is so good? He consistently gets beat around the outside. He does NOT have a quick first step into his drop. It is as simple as that. The proof that he sucks is in the games. Don't listen to what all the "talking heads" say. WATCH THE GAMES!! He played TERRIBLE last year. Langston Walker is much more sound fundamentally. And that will make up for whatever he lacks athletically compared to Peters. Why should Brandon have given in to a guy who skipped out on ALL offseason work, and played with no heart after that? If this were any other team you would be saying that the player was a bum, and the front office should cut him.
  10. That is just flat out wrong. When you are the LT and someone is coming from your outside left shoulder and taking a wide rush as Elam did, the LT (who was not blocking anyone on the inside) has to step out and at least knock the little safety off his stride enough to give JP a little time to make a play.
  11. That is an asinine statement. How was the fat slug supposed to get any coaching when he stayed away from our team the entire offseason and training camp in 2008? And than when he did play, he admitted he basically did not give a sh-t. This is the first step in Philly admitting that Peters is no good. Now, they are trying to salvage him. If the guy is as good as some in the know say, than no way who should he need any reteaching of his technique at the position. I have said all along that the guy is "just not very good", and I will stand by that. Everybody likes to bash the Bills FO, but they knew what Peters was all about and his level of play. He has no upside from where he has been. There was no way we were going to pay him a mega contract and rightfully so.
  12. Why do you enjoy being so negative about everything the Bills do??? Is that how believe you are supposed to be as a fan? My god it has been 5 months since last season ended. Sure we haven't made the playoffs in many years, but are you so miserable with the team that you refuse to find anything positive out of the offseason? My God, every season hope springs eternal. That is what is AWESOME about rooting for the team. As long as someone as cool as Jim Kelly loves the Bills and is a fixture in his association with the team, I am right alongside him in my support. Until we suck it up again, I am always going to think that THIS is our year. And if you can't get excited about having one of the greatest receivers of all time running routes for us, with the show he is going to bring, than dude it is time for you to go root for another team. I am curious, were you a fan during the Super Bowl years? Anyone who was a huge fan than, and got so much enjoyment out of those teams, should never give up their loyalty to the current teams. For all the joy they gave us, we owe it to the franchise to never turn our backs on them. I will ALWAYS be a huge fan. Sure I will be upset about losses. But they are still my team. So find some of the love, or go root for the Texans.
  13. I completely disagree with you. Darryl was one of the leaders of a great team, and played his position with great skill and toughness. He is not a hall of famer, but in the hall of very good as a player, but also a TREMENDOUS character guy. John Taylor had great speed, but also played next to the greatest receiver of ALL TIME. Without Rice Taylor would have been maybe a little above average. He was not a number one guy.
  14. Bro, you obviously have not followed football for many years becuase TO goes down as an all time top 10 receiver EASILY. Look at his numbers, just amazing. I believe he has at least two more really really good seasons in him, if not three. Sure, he is very brash and a bit selfish at times. But his work ethic is tremendous, and he loves and cares about WINNING!!! He will make us a better team, and that is ALL that matters. "Easily top ten".
  15. Man, why do you even root for the Bills?
  16. I live in Atlanta also, and have watched Vick play a lot as well. And to say that you would rather have Hamdan play instead of the best running QB in the history of this great game is just pure folly. Saying things like that shows your football ignorance. Sure, Vick was not a great reader of defenses and his accuracy is questionable, but he is a WEAPON, and to have him in Wildcat and backup QB situations only would strengthen our team. So please think before you write next time.
  17. Upstate, you are the man. Way to put things in perspective.
  18. Dude, you need to chill. What Vick did was wrong. I think we can all agree on that. But the man has served his time. Did you grow up as an African American in the rural South? Before you start getting all high and mighty and self rightious on what a horrible person Mike Vick is, compare his background to yours before you start throwing stones. I live in Atlanta, and let me tell bro there are many many people down here who still worship Mike Vick. His jersey is worn by many, and a lot of those jerseys are worn by kids. I totally think what Michael Vick did was wrong. Does that make me hate the guy forever? No!! White society especially the media sets the morals and rules for how people are supposed to behave. Did you see any black people protesting against Vick in front of the courthouse in Virginia when he was sentenced? Not at all. In a large part of black America especially in lower income areas, in the South, dogs are not thought of with the same reverance as in all the lilly white parts of our country. And if you have half a brain, I am sure you can figure out where those feelings come from. When people care far more about dogs than human beings, something is really frickin wrong with our society.
  19. Dean, I totally disagree with you. Keith Ellison has not been a difference maker for our team. He should not be playing linebacker in the NFL. He is not powerful, athletic, or remotely dominating in any one particular facet of the game. He has no upside, and his awareness and instincts do NOT make up for his lack of physical ability. I would think someone who posts as much as you would be more astute in evaluating our talent.
  20. I like your attitude Tipster. A large portion of the posters on this board are simpletons who have no real clue about the Bills or the NFL. I for one am very psyched about this season. For god sakes, we have TO coming to town. That is frickin AWESOME. For anyone who doubts what positives TO brings to the table. Watch the repeat from last summer of 2008 Dallas Cowboys training camp on NFL Network. The man is the consummate professional who is still an absolute stud. The example that he will set in training camp with his work habits is going to be phonomenal for the young players. Guys like him and Rhodes are exactly what the doctor ordered for us fans. Just wait and see. For all you doubters, this years team will have a whole new attitude. We are going to rock.
  21. Totally disagree. The Bills have done just the opposite by bringing in so many outside linebackers for a look see. If we really loved Ellison, why would we be meeting with all these other OLB's? I would say it is 50/50 whether Keith Ellison even makes our team. I sure hope he does NOT!!!
  22. I love your optimism. I think this team has a lot of talent on both sides of the ball with the free agents and draft picks we have signed this offseason. However, there are two very big factors that will determine if we are a winning playoff type team. And that is whether TE can step up and become a good, (doesn't need to be great) QB. And whether coach Dick will grow a pair and coach agressively. If we get good coaching and quarterbacking, this is a playoff team. All the other pieces are in place. Coaching and Quarterbacking will be the biggest factors!!!
  23. Ellison will NOT be starting come opening day. It will be one of Digiorgio, Harris or Bowen, or someone picked up in the next 3 months. I think Digi has way more upside than Ellison if he has recovered from his knee injury.
  24. Dude, you are just stupid. I am just so sick of listening to you rant about how great Peters was. Did you get to watch even one Bills game living in South Georgia? Peters was AWFUL last year. Say it again!! He was beaten several times in EVERY game he played last year. Langston Walker or whoever plays LT this coming season will more than adequately replace him. The Bills are not cheap. Was Pittsburg cheap to let Alan Faneca go to the Jets? Is every team cheap for not signing everyone of their own free agents? I dont' think so!! So just give it a rest and try and look at the big picture of the situation.
  25. Why don't you like the Peters trade? Did you watch him play last year. He did not give a sh-t about the team.. He as much admitted it in his press conference today in Philly. Do you really believe all the hype and think he is that great a player? He was sieve on the left side last year, simple as that. It is just a shame for all the fans of this beloved team to rip the FO for getting rid of a guy who did not want to play for us, and was at best mediocre last year. For the love of god, why on earth would the Bills give Peters a 4 year $53 million extension when he stayed away all last offseason and than played horribly the entire season? Get a clue, PLEASE!!! There are other huge men in this country who can play LT in the NFL, and will also agree to be part of the team. As for Roscoe, he is a punt returner. He makes a few big plays every year. He is not worth $3 million/year. He is a TERRIBLE receiver. And when he does catch the ball he gets brought down almost immediately everytime. Lets see what we can get for him, before jumping off of a bridge!!! I count five if not six receivers on our roster right now I would rather have playing than Roscoe. We have not won with either Roscoe or Peters. Change is not always bad fellas. Enjoy it. We didn't win with these guys. Lets keep changing it up until we find some winning combinations. Besides it sure makes the offseason a whole lot more interesting.
