If Sammy plays: Bills 24, bengals 20 If Sammy doesnt play: Bengals 24 Bills 16 Yeah, I think hes that important. He opens up everything and can help win the battle of field position which is why I think the Bengals score more of he is out.

Watkins: "I need 10 targets... You're making me look bad."
MDH replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last year many on this board liked to claim that the WRs mutinied on Manuel despite the fact that there was little evidence of this other than some body language on the field. Given that, does both Woods and Watkins saying they are open but being missed constitute a mutiney on TT? It's more evidence than was around last year yet I dont see these same people claiming it now. And no, I dont believe it now just like I didnt last year Im just wondering about the lack of consistency of these opinions. -
Week 6: Bengals' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced

Why does the media not point out that it was Whaley who signed Cassel just two weeks prior? If he was so gung ho to get rid of him why do that at all? -
Shady Listed as Proable for Sunday vs. Cincinnati

From this article: http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/10/16/buffalo-bills-cincinnati-bengals-lesean-mccoy-probable-return Guess I missed that he had that diagnosis last week. I thought that timeline was given when he was first injured. -
Really sorry to hear about this. Hope he gets better quickly. Give him our best. Btw, this should be pinned on the main board. I'm sure there are lots that would like to wish him well who don't come to "off the wall" often or at all.

Agree with all the other stuff but here's the rub: we heard this before the 1st game and the MDs cleared him yet he didn't look particularly good in the early games and re-injured himself. So while it should give us all we need to know, there is room for some doubt. Once bitten twice shy. -
Watkins: "I need 10 targets... You're making me look bad."

I'm sure he did. The real question is whether TT liked hearing it since he's the QB not throwing him the ball when he's "always open." -

We got a glimpse of him in the NE game. His cuts looked sharp and he had a burst. Of course, the next week he looked horrible so perhaps him going all out in NE caused a setback. Like others I'm worried that going out there now is going to result in another setback. I'd rather play it safe and just wait until after the bye particularly since when hurt Shady shows up he's not much of a help at all. If he doesn't have a burst (and can't safely do it) it does the team no good to be out there and risks further injury. -

My concern is that he missed basically the same amount of time from when he originally injured it to the first game of the season and that wasnt enough time to heal it and this after he said he "made it worse." I hope its not an issue moving forward but I have my doubts. -

A few thoughts about this. He's right. He needs to shut up. Why is this coming out of his mouth now when he hasnt been able to get on the field for a couple of weeks? He needs to shut up. He's right. -
I'm curious why points scored isn't a good indicator but points allowed is. The best indicator: If a team plays more than 16 games and wins their last game.

Thoughts on the idea of McKelvin to Safety?
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Williams had to make the transition to S because he never amounted to even a serviceable CB. McKelvin finally turned the corner, why would he want to play S when CBs are one of the highest paid positions on D? From a career standpoint it makes little sense. From a Bills need stand point I get it but it doesn't mean McKelvin would want to do it or would be able to do it without a training camp. As Bado mentioned, it took awhile for him to figure out CB, I'm not sure he could make a seamless transition to S. -
Source: EJ Manuel to start Sunday for Tyrod Taylor

If a few sentences out of Rex's mouth can make the opposing team spend even half a day preparing for a guy who won't play then why not do it? It might not be a huge advantage but a coach will take any and all advantages he can get, no matter how insignificant. -
I think Sammy is more important to this offense than TT. Even if TT is misses this week I'd expect the offense to be much better than it has been the past two weeks if Sammy is back. It's just going to be icing on the cake if/when Shady and Karlos make it back.

Bucky: Trading Cassel doesn’t look good right now
MDH replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EJ was as good or better than Cassel the past few years. EJ is young and hasn't reached his ceiling. Cassel is not going to suddenly get better 10 years into his career. It's not hard to figure out why many would rather have EJ. -
The Bills are 9th in the NFL in PPG and 4th in the AFC. Better than Cleveland, fwiw. I'm not happy with the O just yet but it hasn't been a total disaster.

It wasn't iffy at all. He was off sides. This trend of blaming the refs when the Bills actually did something wrong is pretty hilarious. There are plenty of iffy calls to criticize (like the Graham unnecessary roughness), let's not critique the ones they actually got right. He was off sides by a good yard.

Bucky: Trading Cassel doesn’t look good right now
MDH replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So now Manuel isn't even good enough to be a backup? What world is Bucky living in? He was barely beaten out for the starting nod, outplayed Cassel in every scrimmage/pre-season game but he's not capable of steering the ship for a few games? The only valid point Bucky makes in the article is they traded Cassel away when they knew Taylor was injured but from what I saw in the first 5 games he didn't look too hampered to me. So even that point isn't very strong. Most teams don't carry 3 QBs on the active roster into the season. Not sure how you can rip the Bills for not doing it. -

Factor in they got Seattle at home and the Bills on the road and I'd say that's true given how the Hawks have been playing thus far. -

Yeah, you're right. I did misread it. -

Well there you go, Tasker didn't know what he was talking about. Which also means his rant about the "inconsistencies of the officiating" was off base too because the Miami player was pulled down from behind from the middle of his jersey (at the numbers), not near the shoulder pad. -

I don't know the actual rule but Tasker claimed the rule stated that the hand had to be inside the back of the jersey. If that is indeed the rule then no, that's not a horse collar. He has him by the nameplate but his hand isn't inside the jersey. If that's not the rule then Tasker should know the rules before making such claims. -
Chris Mortensen: Matt Simms turned Bills down
MDH replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't blame him as he'd likely get cut again by the Bills once Tyrod is healthy. -
That wasn't the question he asked... I don't know about the articles you read but the ref pointed that it was Buffalo's ball as I jumped out of my seat because of it.

A Few Thoughts About The Game, in no particular order.....
MDH replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess that's where I differ. I'm looking for long term success and I'm willing to sacrifice a game or two this year to get it. It's why I hated the Orton move last year. This, "let's try to squeek out a win or two more this year at the expense of the future" attitude just doesn't appeal to me. I want a 6-7 year window at a Super Bowl win, not a squeak into the playoffs and be one and done year.
