  1. Two reasons that I remember. The domestic violence allegations by his pregnant ex-girlfriend and the belief that he runs too upright in the hole. I'd say the second is pretty accurate and over the course of his career he's going to take a lot of big hits as a result. That being said he does a great job of reading his blocks and hitting the hole HARD, which is probably the best attribute a RB can have.
  2. Yeah, as much as people are (rightly) claiming that the play should have been blown dead they are ignoring that Suh had his hand inside the back of TT's shoulder pad, which should have been a penalty.
  3. To be fair to Mario they were lining him and Hughes on the same side of the formation for a lot of the day. This is part of what freed Hughes up with single teams because the Phins were committing two guys to Mario on the inside. I wouldn't expect Mario to have a lot of success at a DT and I would totally question the scheme if it wasn't for Hughes making big plays because of the single teams he saw. The thing I'm mostly concerned about is that it appears they're using Dareus as a space eater instead of letting him penetrate and make plays. It's mind boggling why they'd do this as it's the type of thing you do when you have playmakers at LB and just an average big bodied guy at DT. It's the exact opposite for the Bills and they are not utilizing Dareus to the best of his abilities. They were good in a different scheme, one where the DL was allowed to penetrate and disrupt the offense and all they had to do is come in and clean up. Now the D is filtering the plays towards them with the expectation that they'll read the play, fill the right hole - and actually make a tackle- and they are failing.
  4. To be fair a few of those drop back runs were called runs where he had no intention of actually throwing it.
  5. What really makes this work is Charles Clay. They can bring in a 2 TE formation and still spread the field if the D has a LB heavy package. If the D goes with more DBs they can pound the rock from a tight formation or from a spread. A TE who is a receiving threat and who can run block reasonably well is a huge advantage. Clays blocks paved the way for many of the big runs yesterday. And for my money this O doesn't need another speedster, they need a big 6'3" target who can make tough catches over the middle. A guy TT can easily see. The one weakness in TT's game thus far is he doesn't use the entire field and goes mostly outside the hashes. Get him a big ass guy he can't miss.
  6. Because what makes a QB a franchise guy is consistency. He has to be able to do it over and over again, over not only the course of a season but over several seasons. 5 games does not a franchise QB make. The league is littered with guys who have played well over 5 week stretches who never amounted to anything long term. TT is promising and he has the chance of being that guy we all hope he can be, but throwing out superlatives and calling him a "top 6 QB" after a few starts is overkill.
  7. He was sliding head first most of the time. The D is actually within the rules to tag him when he does so. The Phins didnt do it, other Ds might not be so nice. He needs to start sliding feet first.
  8. I look for Clay to be the primary target next week. They shouldnt completely avoid Revis but they shouldnt play with fire either.
  9. When a QB slides he is giving himself up with the understanding he wont be hit. Not only was he hit but he was KO'd. That was the definition of a cheap shot.
  10. So tackling a guy is a dirty play now?
  11. I like it because I have Brown in FF but that was a horrible pick that didn't get called.
  12. Nice throw by Carr. Red zone channel is like an eyegasm right now.
  13. Big Ben is obviously "soft"
  14. Huge pet peeve of mine in regards to use of timeouts at the end of games. Coaches who don't take their time outs on the front side of the two minute warning. Drives me crazy. It's their job to understand game situations but they routinely give up 5 seconds of time because they don't know when to use TOs. It didn't have an impact at the end of the game, but it could have.
  15. And he made up for it with that TD!
  16. That was a horrible chip block. Williams has to actually hit Suh there.
  17. Could be a broken collar bone, could be a separation. Hoping it's neither and it's nothing serious. Back to back plays of the two biggest playmakers coming off the field, ugh.
  18. How can he say, a penalty took away what "would have been a completion?" No it wouldn't, it would have been a sack.
  19. There was no check down, that was his #1 target. On 3rd and 24 you don't chuck it up, you just accept the punt and play good D.
  20. D needs to step up here. Haven't forced a 3 and out all day, need one here desperately.
  21. Pretty much par for the course this year.
  22. So what we're suggesting is they actually play soft...
  23. On the good news front: Steelers beating the Raiders and Jags have come back vs. Jets.
  24. They're getting no pressure no matter what they do yet their aggressiveness is being exploited. They need to change things up. Go to a zone, rush 3 or 4. Do something different, stop doing the same damn thing!
