I don't see this if the season ended today. However, IF this team tanks the rest of the season in a very ugly way, then every one of your points would be a strong possibility IMO.

You don't understand... it's EJ! When I was a kid, the Bills drafted Al Cowlings in the 1st round, 1970. He could do no wrong in my eyes; they picked him 5th overall, so he had to be damn good. They ended up trading him for a draft pick after a couple years, and I was like WTF? Now, EJ wasn't taken 5th overall, but he is a QB, so the situations kinda balance out a little. People who really don't know any better are going to expect him to be good no matter what.

Yep. Everyone SHOULD be on the same page now that reality has set in. Will they? Highly unlikely, at least not yet.

IMO Whaley was in no position to hire any coach, he was fortunate to keep his job. The football czar that Pegs wanted to hire (Polian)? Now that's a different story. I think it was Pegs's call, reinforced by yes men.

Inevitable given the pre-season competition, the naming of TT as the starter, and the small but very vocal minority in here who were upset that EJ didn't get the nod. Now that reality has finally set in, posters are naturally going to comment on it..

Great post. I agree with everything except the part of rather seeing Cassel this weekend, EJ's preseason changed me there.

Bungles 28-13 EDIT: Right before the game, I'm changing my pick to Bills 16-14. If Thad Lewis can almost get a win against the Bungles 2 years ago, EJ can do enough to get the job done.

Mostly goes with the Pollyanna syndrome. Everything is sunshine, lollipops, & rainbows when it comes to the Bills. God forbid anyone say something disparaging about the team, let alone a player. I agree with Sammy, get him the ball.

IMO no current announcer needs a good B word-slapping more than Phil Simms, so I'm glad the Bills don't get the #1 CBS team.
