That is mind blowing to me...

This is the kind of game that turns a season around...particularly with the upcoming schedule that we have...win this one and we play the cupcakes while our guys get healthy for the stretch run...GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Way to post this a half hour before kickoff of a game that can turn our season around for the better...

I don't quite get that...sure he played well last year but Greer is definitely an improved player and Simpson will be back there and he's a bit better than keeping the game in front of him than Wilson was. I think that's just more of the simplistic journalism.

Like Jax was last year for JP, this is Trent's "statement&quo
Erik replied to VOR's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure how you can say that Trent Edwards is the biggest reason for the losses though...a reason? Definitely. A mojor reason? I'd say so. But you can't really let the line, coaching, and defensive line off and throw it all on the shoulders of Trent can you? The one play I've been seeing all week is the Dockery whiff that lead to the pick 6. Has he played poorly in the losses? Yes, but the major reason? That's a stretch. -
I thought Jackson has missed some holes as well.

Not a chance. JP was in his fourth year...Edwards is in his 2nd. What is he, 10-7 as a starter? You can't pull the plug on the guy so quickly. That's why we have had a carousel of quarterbacks for the better part of the last 10-15 years. -
Maybe Palin wasn't such a bad pick...

It's not her fault. Seriously. The RNC used her. Hell, she probably was made to believe that Barack Obama actually was a domestic terrorist. They took a naive woman who had never met or spoken with Barack Obama and they used her, plain and simple. She didn't decide what to say herself, she was told what to say. She probably didn't even understand what she was actually doing. -
This weeks unlikely hero will be.....

Yeah but how many "tackle watches" will Costanzo have? As in "I watched my teammate and made sure he made the tackle". Bruschi will have at least 260 of them. -
Some of Obama's most recent statements

Yeah...that's exactly what I'll do. I'm going to join his paramilitary group. Seriously, it's one thing to disagree with his issues but why do some of you nuts go so far. Face it, the guy is not a communist, not a socialist. He may be a liberal, ok, he is a liberal but you do realize the difference from being a liberal and being a Marxist, Communist, etc. 57 Islamic states? Give me a break. There are 57 territories in the U.S. Make fun of him for being stupid or ignorant for his gaffe but to jump to that type of conclusion? Yup, it's absolutely brainless. Sorry, but even the majority of McCain supporters think that this crazy theory would be true. -

Wow, I'm glad everyone is not as simple minded as you. The lack of intelligence is frightening. -
The brightside....yes there still is one...

SF and KC are arguably the two worst teams that we will face all season. And SF is a home game. 8-8 basically concedes we will get swept by the division. Look at the history in this division. That is nearly impossible unless someone goes 16-0. So assuming we just play at our heads, we should be at least 9-7. If we can get our swagger back (not sure what it will take for that to happen though). None of it matters though, if we lose next week we will likely miss the playoffs but if we win then obviously that changes everything. So basically everything rests on next week's game. -
I know it seems like doom and gloom...

C'Mon, 8-8? That's basically conceding ALL of the division games, assuming we can beat SF, CLE, and KC. -
I just got a bad text, Donte's arm is in a sling

So who is coming off the bench to do better than him...esp. if Youboty is still out...Ko? Corner? Wilson? -
Is it me or did our offensive production absolutely nosedive since Reed went out last game. No creativity, a lack of a clutch player on offense, and Hardy is far too underdeveloped. Maybe we should see more of Fred Jackson split out? Why is Turk Schonert so gun shy now? Is it because teams don't pay attention to Hardy except when he is in the red zone? We need Reed back in there. Hopefully he is ready to go against NE.
-
I was very impressed with Fine but the dropoff from Reed to Hardy is extremely considerable. We need #82 back on the field.
-
Where is the creativity? After Turk mixed it up during the first month we have been vanilla as hell the last two weeks with 1 or 2 exceptions a game. I know Hardy's a rookie and has had the dropsies but throw the guy a slant for God's sake. They were giving him a cushion all game. He's never going to learn if you give up on him so quickly. How many pitches, counters, reverses did we see today? I can't recall any...far too vanilla to be productive...

The saddest thing about this game is Mangini got a 10-point swing for his extremely inept decision to take that penalty on the third down. The whole premise of taking the penalty is the assumption that you will stop them on third and longer. They didn't and he was still rewarded. Absolutely ridiculous.

After all of the Schobel hate that's been piled on lately it is clear as day that this defensive line is not even close to the same as it is with him in there. Stroud has pulled a disappearing act the last three weeks. So has Kyle Williams, who we were all praising when he was in there. Let's face it, people don't gameplan around Ryan Denney, clearly they put extra attention on both Stroud and Schobel and everyone wins. When Schobel is out the opposing teams coaching staffs focus on Stroud as absolutely no one else on the defensive line scares them. We need Schobel healthy. He doesn't stink. I think that much is clear now.
-
Well, A) Obviously we didn't play like we did in our 5 wins by accident and if Trent has time, Lynch has some holes, and our D makes some plays...why can't we play better than we did this week. I think we need Schobel and Reed though, not sure how possible that will be but if they don't play I might well be ready to throw in the towel. and B) I am terribly unimpressed with the Patriots play this year so far. Their defense has looked like swiss cheese at times, they have more key injuries than we do. I mean, face it, last week a healthy Pats team would likely have won by the slaughter rule at home against St. Louis. Instead they squeak by with a score. Like I said, if things go the way they did today, yeah we'll lose. But combine the bad play with the bad luck in today's game and you have to imagine that it would be hard to get much worse than it was today.

someone remind James Hardy he's 6'6
Erik replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah...he should have just speared him in the back...better to live to fight another day, esp. since we would have taken a field goal anyway in that situation. -
I'm not ready to concede next week's game. The Patriots have looked average against bad teams e.g. teams we crushed like STL. I just don't think they're as good as their record. Of course if we play like we did today we'll lose but that game is definitely winnable.
-
Yeah...the problem is that we aren't built as a team that can go out there and let if fly, especially with Reed out. The lack of opening up a hole in inexcusable. And for those who think it's Lynch's fault, he would have been in negative yardage if it wasn't for his maximum effort. Also there is a good chance he would have made that first down on 4th and 1 if he followed the hole, which Jackson did not. Also would have probably scored last week to at the goal line. Either way, if our line can't open up holes, we won't win many games.
-
Anyone who believes that Aaron Schobel doesn't leave a humongous hole in our defensive front 7 is utterly delusional...
-
Yeah...I've got a Spikes jersey and a Bledsoe jersey that I'd like to convert. Hell, I may even send my Clements jersey in for a Jackson nameplate if we find someone who would do it...does anyone know if Al Ross takes mail ins?
