  1. I know of no one else that is more able to stand up to this disease than Jim. As a member of the 12th man I wish I could do more than pray for Jim and Jill and the family. I wish I could stand up and swing my jacket around as Jim did when he was watching the Bills play Miami and snow came steaming across the stadium from the lake. It was a sure sign the Bills would win that day and all 73,000 knew it. I wish I could play tackle and block for him as Wolford and Ballard did. I wish I could break off my pass route and come back to the ball like Reed and Lofton to help the QB Jim.

    But I cannot so PRAY it shall be for Jim, Jill, the whole family, and for all the true Bills fans, ( like Debbie, and Nikki, and Bob, and Phil, and Dom and Mark and Courtney and Wally and Grace) who today have a big piece of their heart in pain.

  2. I have a tendency to agree that Cheerleaders are not necessary, except that the game is so slow due to TV commercials that you need to have something to look at for the 30 minutes per game of nothing. Besides what good would that awful music they play in each stadium. They save money on that by only paying one set of royalties.

    If the are going to change anything stop that stupid gong noise on 3rd down

  3. ridiculous that some one in this tread developed this into racial issue. To clarify "thugs" I meant players who spend more time with their own agenda, trying to hurt players opposite to them, take penalties for being over aggressive and hurt the team, put their out of control emotions ahead of their teammates and end up being losers when playing as a unit would have put them in position to WIN, the real objective

    Did the Lions not underperform in part for this reason

  4. My biggest concern is the lack of control of his players and emotions. His teams always have too many penalties and are either too high or too low. Thugs are the way of life, not smart. Even Schwartz demonstrated he was often out of control. He hurt his team by not thinking at times.

    While I hate unemotional coaches like Jauron a good coach needs to keep his wits about himself.

  5. Geno refused to get off his cell phone , held up the plane and the crew asked him to leave so they could take off. Geno didn't have his wrist band instructions on how to turn off the phone. The coaches caused the problem. Then he played the race card (true). That is the only excuse he cannot use in the NFL

  6. Donahoe was terrible. His drafts were average at best, anyone on this board could be average over 5 years with a staff of 10 people recommending picks. His biggest 2 issues were picking bad coaches, and hating the fans. We were called idiots by him on the radio. We were refused entry into the stadium for what we were wearing. He stopped entry into the parking lots until 8 am and tried to make it 9am. He came as the silver fox and left as the silver jerk

  7. OK, you don't have to apologize - I borrowed that from the Byrd thread - but give Hackett some credit:

    1) He opened the playbook up for EJ with reverse, fake reverse, screen and long ball;

    b) He was on the sideline (coaxed by Marrone) but looked engaged;

    III) Goaline call to Frank "the Tank" Summers (rather than forced throws);

    d) Even though the run game was stuffed, he consistently ran the ball with EJ under center. This allowed for better play action (rather than running out of shotgun all day)

    Fifth) He devised a game plan without his #1 and #2 WR's.

    6) He has flashes of brilliance. After gaining 30+ yds to Graham, he calls a 40 yd go route to Goodwin (where he may have gone to a run, run, pass series a few weeks ago)

    I suppose Nate is getting better each week just like all these first year guys.

    Ohhhh, and props to JR in Pittsburgh and you other guys who picked us to dominate the Jets. I would have never guessed it would happen.

    You make some good points. There is a common point here to think about that runs through your ideas. I have always thought there is no place like the field for the co-ordinator. You get the feel for the players demeanor, the will of the players, the true sense that a guy like Goodwin can run past the corner 2 plays in a row due to conditioning, Football is a game of physical wills, the box is sterile. Being close to the sweat can be beneficial.

  8. guy is seriously mentally weak, Allegedly Incognito was "Bullying" him, if so kick his ass and then you'll be best friends, every generation is getting softer and softer.

    Seriously you are gona quit one of the most lucrative and sought after jobs in America because people are picking on you :doh:

    edit: I can see I'm gona get grilled on this but I have my own mental issues (which i'm sure most of you think anyway) which got me Harassed every friggin day as youngster, but when I stood up for myself the treatment go a whole lot better. But as an adult it also caused problems with my bosses but I learned real quick that if I wanted to keep my job I better do what the boss says even if he is a moron or completely wrong.

    Don't know what his problem is but walking away from the team is not the way to do it, If you need help keep working and get help at the same time.

    There may the likely hood that he is gay and Incognito being the total jerk he is may have been harassing him for weeks with others also jumping on board. We do not have enough info to suggested any illness, mental or other wise. If he is gay this may be the event that allows the NFL to change it's culture. I say more people like Martin and less idiots like Incognito would best for everyone

  9. We can win this game, but it will take the 12th man, as well. Buffalo used to have quite the reputation, but Arrowhead just became the loudest recorded stadium 2 Sundays ago. Fire it up!

    cannot be done in the Ralph any longer. When the major seating changes were made and many more plastic seats were added the noise level dropped as the old aluminium seats were used to make noise and reflected the noise. Most of the new modern stadiums are more closed-in thus keeping the noise in the stadium. But it is worth a try for sure....football is one sport where the fans can have a real effect on the game outcome

  10. Could be good for him to try and convert to linebacker in a more conventional sense. The guy is too small to play DE is a 4-3 and doesn't have the ability to be a 3-4 LB. If he does want to salvage his career as a football player this is probably the best way to do it. I don't think he will pull it off but this is his best way to try.

    That's the sad thing about drafting Maybin, everyone knew it was the wrong decision the moment it was made. Jauron's last gift to us.

    proof positive that the Bills did not have a scouting department before Doug Whaley

  11. It appears that the Bills will provide 50,000 white pom poms for the game as we will dress in our whites unis. This leads to just a few questions....why do we wear our away unis and allow KC to wear their home red? What happens to the other 20,000 fans who do not get a pom pom, are we too cheap to supply this $.10 product to all fans. Will we be embarrassed by 20,000 chiefs' fans all dressed in red sitting among the crowd that will be dressed in white at the Bills request. They travel well (especially when winning) and the game is sold out. Just sayin'!

  12. He will suit up Sunday. He is listed as day to day so his feet have not fallen off as of yet. Watching YOUR team struggle with so many injuries in the secondary and standing idly by is not something a real man would do. And yes it is still YOUR team Jairus, you know the team that is paying you 7 million to be ok enough to practice but not play in the game. I get that he didn't get his big contract that he wanted but 7 million for a few months work aint to shabby so stop being a spiteful B word. Hope him and his scumbag agent are amused with the current state of our secondary. As a loyal fan for 20 years I will never look at him the same again if he fails to play this week and leaves us hanging yet again. Good enough to practice but I guess on Sundays those feet just start acting up again. Be a teammate!

    Ask Eugene Parker....he is the one in control. Byrd has not got the stones to make a decision alone.

  13. Bill Bellichiik not only knows how to beat Buffalo but hurt Buffalo emotionally. Last minute wins.

    EJ probably feels chained (depressed) like everyone else right now.

    Oh now we have Wingate...Belicheat actually plans only to win in the last moment...great game planning wow

  14. I was listening to WGR earlier today and Joe B had a significant point about the whole Jarius Byrd situation that I think merits further discussion. Joe said (paraphrasing) that back in March the Bills hadsome question about how well Byrd fits in the new defensive scheme that Pettine has implemented. The second question was if the Bills would want to pay top dollar for a safety that might not be a perfect fit?

    Now lets be clear, no one is saying that Byrd isn't a great, ball hawking safety. The reality is though that the prior Bills defenses are very different from what we'll likely see on the field this Sunday. Byrd won't be able to sit back in a cover 2 scheme, read the QB's eyes and grap the pick. Safeties in Pettine's system are much more physical and aggressive. Pettine is also going to employ schemes where he'll have three safeties on the field at times. Jarius has never been a great "in the box" type of safety and he's not a jarring hitter.

    The Bills wonder, and rightly so, what his production will look like in this new system hence their reluctance to go out and spend top dollar.

    Not saying it's the right position for the Bills to take but I can totally understand their line of thinking.

    none of this matters...Eugene Parker has made this about money only....all other issues are not important...he has a history or money and Byrd has bought into it. He knows as long as the Bills care about their team Byrd will win....I say the he?? with him and flip him the byrd
