  1. Wow! What a good story. Considering the Jets are playing the Bills this week and he was cut I really expected a much rougher piece with how the Jets found a diamond in the rough and Buffalo was dumb to cut him. Really nice story about Aaron. This kind of story males me wish he was still on the Bills playing as well as he has. (not that I think it's great but if he did anything he'd still be here) IRS just the kind of story that Biffalonians want to embrace. I will change my tune in Maybin. I wish him luck.

the only good thing about Maybin is his agent. He stole money for a client that has no NFL ability.

All I have ever heard from Maybin are excuses...

  2. What would have happened to Dick and his team....Wolfolk would have started an argument and fight with an o lineman and the time would have run out as the refs broke it up.... oh that really happened as you may recall....

this time our team is thinking...as one... are are learning that winning is more important than the small battles.

Everyone here at Two Bills Drive sends out our heartfelt condolences to Lori, who lost her stepfather on Friday to cancer. She posted her thoughts about the situation here on her blog:

    http://chaseblogg.wordpress.com

Although Lori has moved on from her day to day involvement here at TBD, she was a big part of this site for many years and for that we are deeply grateful. Please keep her in your thoughts as she works her way through this difficult time.

My sympathy to Lori and her family and friends.\

We miss her and the knowledge she brings to our family.

Lori has been a good friend for many years and we have never met face to face.

  4. When he was caught, before and after, he passed 19 out of 20 drug tests. Goodell said that, not him. After he was caught, he played two full seasons at a high level. His best season was after he was caught. Then there have been two full years since then.

But players who come off the roids always have a breakdown...look at A Rod... and many of the BB players....Muscles are too big for their body and start to come apart.

He did Roids and whether it took a year to happen or not the Chargers knew what was happening to his body...IMHO

But I hope he holds it together. :worthy:

  5. I am as big a critic of Jim Overdorf as anyone. It's possible, although this is a rumor on the level of Pat Moran, that he is the anti-Christ.

But since I badmouth him so much, and he has received so much vitriol here and elsewhere in the last week especially, I feel it is only fair to give him kudos for the Kyle Williams deal. It seems to me to be fair to both side. Great deal for the Bills, and a great deal for Kyle considering that he would have to wait two years to test the open market. I know there is already a Kyle extension thread, but I thought that since The Devil gets so much crud, and deservedly so, for his blunders and terrible decisions, that he should also get credit when credit is due.

The Morrison signing, although it was only one year and happened due to Torbor's injury, was also sweet, IMO.

I don't expect it to last, but it may, as we try to re-sign Stevie, Fitz and Fred.

Overjerk has no business making any football related decisions. His job should be to negotiate what he is told. He is the best example of what is wrong with this team...non football people making football decisions. Proof that Ralph has no desirre to win.

Only the strong personality of Jim K, Thurman, Polian and few others forced Ralph to win in the 88 to 95 period.

Do you recall cutting Langston Walker shocking the team. Not that Walker should have been kept but their was no replacement signed and thus the shock was he did not get beat out...just money from overdorfs position

    Overdorf should be fired.

  6. lol... dont know who karen carpenter is but if she used 2 watch people drafted after her perform better than her then he definitely is karen carpenter... waste of a draft pick 4 sure... he should stop wasting money on his haircutz cuz soon he wont have a job u know?

not surprised you do not know Karen Carpenter....you are not old enough to know the english language

almost as discusting as as Maybinn ability

  7. The KEY word in his statement is "POWER".

He is new in this game with the NFL and this whole situation is about his power. Not money, not players, not the owners share, only his power. :worthy:

Smith wants power to wield, in a business he does not own or have any investment in. He is not negotiating for the players or the union.

In fact he is refusing to negotiate and stalling with his tactics of deceertification, because he has nothing to bargain for, they already have on the table an offer that is 95% of the goal.

Soon the players will turn on him. June 10....put your money on it. A week after the court decision. :death:

  8. Didn't see it posted anywhere but just saw this on wgr.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been stabbed. The Dolphins' star was rushed to the hospital and is currently in intensive care.

At this point, details are limited, but Schefter reports Marshall was stabbed by a woman.

Can you believe it. the Dolfins have said they have no information because they cannot talk to a player locked out. What a line of Cr@p. I suppose if he dies they could go to the funeral because technically they couldn't speak to him.

What a sorry excuse for human beings. :wallbash:

  9. Peter, Peter, Peter, and the rest of those here that keep beating this same old tired drum. Sham? No. Negotiating tactic, you bet. Yet you cannot continue to beat this drum without also adding that the owners over a couple years ago, planned for a lockout and negotiated TV deals that guaranteed them an income stream games or not.

    Get real.....

    Spidy Spidy Spidy

The only drum to beat here is Smith. He is the issue. What the players are beginning to realize is that the issue is not about money...it is about power and Smith wants power. Money is something the owners know how to deal with. The one thing they will not give up is their power.

  10. this is so espn and national media...always saying things like name five bills....noone can do that outside of western new york...here is the bills on the clock and then i am going to find the one that was on espn today and watch what is said by dilfer when mortensen says the bills believe they can win with fitzy...he laughs in our face....http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/12383/video-on-the-clock-bills this one was eariler im looking for the one from today....saying in this one to blow up our offensive line,,,if it wasnt for woody getting hurt and moving our players around so much...levitre to other side...we would of been ok....

here is todays that i am talking about...all this is-is a repeat...i do agree with kiper though that we will take miller at number 3....just listen to these guy rip fitzy and dilfer sounding like lets move on and not talk about this team...god i cant stand him...

    http://search.espn.go.com/bills-on-the-clock/

Why should they not just pass us buy and ignore the Bills. RaLPH has done that for years. Next to Oakland this has been the most unprofessional organization since John Butler left. The recors speaks for itself.

Did you actually go to any the games in the last decade. Did you see Jauron? Did you get called an idiot fan by Donahoe. Did you see us pauy a first and fouth for Rob Johnson. did you sit through the Johnson/flutie mess.

    We should be ignored.

  11. what makes you say Smith doesnt have the PA's best interests at heart?

IMHO as a professional in this field, Smith is not bargaining about money, or rules or retirees benefits and pensions, he is bargaining for power.

This dispute will not be settled until some players begin to break ranks and Smith is either told to change the strategy or he changes because he is about to be fired by the players.

Smith is the new card in the deck. The owners are appeazing him at this point and that must stop.

Can you imagine a union that decertifies and then demands they have a seat at the table even though they do not exist.

I understand the suits by Brady/Manning et al but the issue here is Smiths inability to gain power. IMHO :wallbash:

  12. Obviously I don't have all the details but from what I read about the NFL's proposal it seemed ok. It seemed to me the league met many of the unions demands and moved to the middle on the money. I understand the union is afraid they are being duped by not having access to all the information they need but the proposal from the NFL included more shared financial information. I suspect there would have been an out clause in the deal they union could have exercised just like the owners did if the deal wasn't working for them a couple years down the road. I think the union believes the courts are going to be more fair than the owners. However our national court system is filled with Bush I and II era appointments and the Supreme Court is decidedly pro-business. I'm not so sure the courts will consistently be on the players side. Maybe this Judge Doty will be but any decision he makes will be appealed higher to courts that are likely much more conservative and pro-owner/anti-union.

The real issue here is the new NFLPA leadersip. They are different than the old group and the style and the vision is different. The fight is about control, not money. Smith wants control and power and the older group wanted fairness and to play the game.

This will not get settled easily. Smith has changed the dynamics and matches the owners now. This is neither good or bad, but because Goodell is a solution type guy he can control the owners and get a deal. Smith does not want a solution at this point in his career. He wants power and control.

I have been in this position many times...the solution must come from the players behind Smith because he does not want a contract solution as I said.

Interesting to me that we have 2 parties with one fighting over money and the other fighting for power.

    :wallbash:

  13. that white players are better Quarterbacks in the NFL?

According to Wiki Answers there are 3,867 white athletes vs 11,978 black athletes in the NFL. It's obvious that it's a difficult thing for a white player to compete with black players in the NFL. And it's not just at skill positions. It appears that they only excel at QB play, Kicking, and Punting. No one knows why that is and you could debate that topic all day long. Could it be that white athletes gravitate towards the QB position based on they might enjoy the studying part of the position more than the black athlete? And the white athlete recognizes that as an edge or a way to compete with their more athletic black counterparts. Is that a racist thing to say? I don't think so.

Why can't we just talk about the "elephant in the room"? If anyone saw Cam Newton in his under armour at the combine, and you don't think he's the most physically gifted QB in the draft you're crazy. But the questions about him are centered around does he have the mind of an NFL QB. Can he lead a group of Men. Is he as fierce in the film room as he is in the weight room. Does he ENJOY that part of the position?

I honestly am not posting this to incite hateful debate, but honest debate.

    Without ripping you consider this.

    background!!!!!

what percentage of people from particular areas of the city or state or neighbourhood play football vs other areas. thus the opportunity of those people is different to be a player. Substitute any profession and you see the same example.

Why are there better skaters in Canada and US vs Jamaica? Race or opportunity?

Geeks at school hang with other geeks and few of them become football players.

Why do more people from Nashville like country music than people from LA?

Kids in England more likely to be a soccer player than a quarterback.

People can be predesposed based on surroundings..what did your family do, what do your friends do.

Kids learn the game playing at a young age with other friends in the field without a coach and adults...if that does not exist in your neighborhood it is unlikely you can later learn to be that athlete by only learning at the diamond or stadium.

More good swimmers come from warm weather areas than cold. Why...opportunity.

  14. I do not have this information but wouldn't it be interesting to review the 09 draftnics to see what they thought of Maybin and then determine theeir potential credibility for this years draft. If the Bills are going to go D line or LB at 3 then I think this is essential information since most of us get our preferences based on their writings not on our ability to scout.

    Any thoughts?

  15. Besides screwing up the words, can the NFL please... PLEASE get someone that sings it in the manner in which it is supposed to be sung. I know I am possibly being old fashioned, but come on! You get a guy like the one that sang the anthem at the two Chicago playoff games... now that will be patriotic!!!!!!

What is with all the complaining.

The whole NFL fan base forgives M Vick and wants to hang someone who messed up a few words in a song...

    This is sick

I guess if she submits herself into rehab or jail all is forgiven.

  16. Can't get too excited for the Jets though, not as long as that dbag in the fireman's hat is still in the stands.

At least Fireman Ed goes to games...when was the last time you did.

I am a long term Bills fan but I have always appreciated the dedication of Fireman Ed. He is a great fan, travels to away games and leads one of the best cheers in the league. I have seen him sitting in the rain and cold no matter if the team is down by 25 or up by 25. He certainly rivals our own Pinto Kenny...and deserves respect. :worthy:

  17. He will do exactly the same thing as his buddy Lavar Arrington (He personal advisor)

He will shoot his big mouth off, blame his failure on everything except his own inability, spend his money and teach some other Penn stater how to scam the NFL with no talent.

no team should even dratf a player that has even talked to either one of these guys.

  18. Just thinking of all the players that the Bills let leave for whatever reason. Pat Williams; Winfield; Spikes; Clements; Molds; etc.; etc! How can this organization expect the young players to get mentored. The Bills Orginization is just not committed to winning. Every player who becomes of any worth ends up with another organization. Now this Organization has purged itself of every player that was a leader and/or a game changer. Who is left on this roster to lead this young team and teach these young players how to be leaders? It just irks me because this team could have all the pieces now. What hope is there that anything will change???

I agree that in order to build the team certain players at the top of your rooster must be kept. They may not be pro bowl but you cannot rebuild the entire rooster each year.

example....Poz may not be the best LB in the AFC but we cannot fill that position and Dline and outside LB at the same time.

However, as long as Overdorf controls the contracts and makes these type of personnel decisions we will NEVER build a team past a 5 or 6 win team...always in a learning mode for the first 8 games.

Overdorf is the problem ans cancer in the front office. IMHO :wallbash:

  19. Overly dramatic much? Whitner's delusional. He can walk If he even thinks that he deserves anything more than average money for an NFL safety. I could care less if he does walk, because I think the Bills could use an upgrade at that position. We need a safety that can cover a freaking tight end once in his life, especially since the best team in the division features passes to tight ends.

You make my point for me.

If Whitner is not good enoug why the he$$ are we even talking to him at this point. If he is good enough to keep then why do we want to piss him off and other players at the same time.

That is exactly what is wrong with the front office :wallbash:

Funny how people forget that Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, and Bruce Smith all finished their careers with other teams.

But Butler never negotiated during a season and screwed up the morale. Gailly and staff have the ship sailing in the right direction and the front office does what they can to screw it up.

Whitner is far from a franchise player so pissing him off (Which isn't what they are doing its just a negotiation) when there is already a capable replacement on the roster isn't a slight on the front office at all. Nix and Chan are capable football man and it shows. Its just Ralph seems to run this team with a committee of people since Donahoe left town so even the GM doesn't seem to have the power over the football decisions.

All in all I think that Nix is given full control of personnel this team will head in the right direction.

If this franchise is running the same as it did for the past 10 years then Nix may not even have a say in this process. That is my point.

Why do we expect Overdorf and Littman to give up any power to another old man. I resepct Nix...it is the rest of the front office that is n uts.

  20. Just when some good feelings about this team begins to grow the real issues with the organization shows. :wallbash:

Whitner is unhappy. That is not unusual. What is the real issue is the front office, who can pi$$ off players playing well during the season. John Butler, Bill Polian, would never let this happen. There is no need for this.

Overdorf..Littman..Modrak, cannot run a football team.

They cannot handle negotiations, drafting or hiring staff. History proves this. The record proves it.

These are the guys that cut Langston Walker without telling the head coach. Not that he should not have been cut but that is a caoching decision not a $$$ money decision.

We will never crawl above an 8 & 8 team until that part of the organization is fixed.
