  1. Asked in his postgame presser Fitz said they had an outside run call to Spiller and it was a bad play based on the defense he was seeing. Not wanting to burn a timeout he decided to sneak it.

    Fair enough

Gailey asked about the same exact situation in his post game presser.....said, they had a pass called that wasn't a good fit based on the coverage they saw.

Not that it's a hige deal, but the QB says it was a run play. The coach on the other hand says it was a pass play. Smells to me like they're both bs'ing, and the truth of the matte ris both QB and coach ran a sneak because they both didn't realize it was first and 10.

I also found it odd that when questioned about this one specific play in the game both player and coach delved into a rather wordy prepared answer, as if they both knew they gaffed it in the game, so they got their stories straight before heading to the podiums.

Like I said with they way they played today, this play was totally menaingless, but I'm not buying either Gailey or Fitzs answer, because they're both telling different stories.

I think they had just called a time out and called this trick sneak...Chan is so sly...and the Harvard grad is so smart... They should be spys...

  2. Sure I was po'd at first because the way we lost and because a win would have put us just a game behind steelers and Bengals in the WC race, after they both lost today.

But let's be honest, this team wasnt going anywhere and didn't deserve to be in post season this year. The longer they remained relevant, the more aggrivating it was, and the more time and energy I wasted on s futile endeavor.

At least theres clarity on whats needed in the off season and the preparation can start now . And if I happen to catch some of their games on TV I can sit back and enjoy the play better knowing nothings at stake.

Your comment on "waste of time and energy" is right on. I have always felt than many times the fans have more invested in the team than the coaches, and execs.

This year is almost as frustrating as Jauron was...Gailly has become the obvious issue...play calling, clock management, Spiller issue, all which seem to fans to be so logically fixable. WTF. You walk away from a game feeling you have been cheated...not by the players but by the team.

Is the fix in??? How can an organization be so inept for so long.

They do not deserve your life, focus, love and energy. The feeling of relief is overwelming when they are done. Thank goodness that they play in Toronto.

(Consider how impossilbe that was to say 5 years ago)

Enjoy the season...without the heartbreak of the Bills

  3. I think it is a well intentioned attempt to level the plaing field, be nice, be couteous, be empathetic to others and their feelings, etc.....

the problem is, life is not as described above.

I don't know if it apples for apples, but how about where people won't say NO to their kids because of the fragile psyches? How about the people who won't let Dodgeball in schools because it is exclusionary and rough? What about the playgrounds that are now made out of Rubber because no kids can ever get a splinter, but now we find these playgrounds suck and kids don't want to play on them? How about parents who don't use the term "fat" to describe fat people, they now call them "full"? How about the parking in the front of my gym that is reserved for "Eco-Friendly Vehicles" does that include my vehicle which I drive 3 miles a day versus my co-worker who drive 60 both ways? Honestly, I think the parking spots close to the gym should be reserved for skinny people....

Its no diiferent with the Government. Government attempt to creates this well intentioned fairness and level playing field, but that is not how socities work... In the end we spend all this time trying to flatten our the curve, when the fact is 95% of the people the cuve don't care or have other things to worry about.

It is not just the government...consider the recent case of the homeless man at TimesSquare...front page, no shoes, Policeman helps him. Later it is discovered he has an

Army Pension, has a place to live (apartment) but does not use it, his family says he does not take advantage of the opportunities to help himself...now he is being rundown in the press as a phoney...he still walks around in the winter on shoeless feet is obviously a mentally ill, but the press now treat him like a PHONEY... because he is outside their norm...this is OK, but a sorority has a party and look what happens...How does one have a costume of Obama without blackface paint...or is it OK to have a black mask but black face paint is not OK...

  4. The Penn State Sorority who held a party dressed like Old Style Mexican stereo types is now front page news and lead story on morning TV...that is sick.

A model wears North American Indian type clothes and that makes the USA Today front page...WHAT! She can walk the stage without underwear and that is OK...but a feather inn her hair and she is critisized.

Why are we so sensitve..Will be soon like England and make it a crime to use certain words that may be insensitive?

Do football fans remember when NFL would not let people dress to tease Mike Vick when the "Ron Mexico" issue was hot.

A hockey player dresses like Michael Jackson for a Halloween Party (including colored face) and it makes the front page of Toronto papers. He wears 1 glove is OK, but face paint is wrong.? It is a costume !!!!!!!!!!! So if a political theme at a party no one can go dressed as Jessie Jackson or President Obama. Can a African American not dress up as Richard Nixon

Since calling the holiday Christmas is not politically correct in many circles will July 4th soon become Country Day so you can choose your own country to celebrate so as not too hurt the feelings of anyone born in another country. Strangley it seems the more money our government gives to a country to help support them the more they make us feel guilty.

It may be my age...it may be because I feel many are insensitive towards me, I do understand the issues ( I use to teach people about such subjects in the workplace)...but have we gone too far in trying to make a news story... Humor is humor...fashion is fashion..these people are not politicians..but if course if they were making an obvious political statement it would be Ok as free speech.....they are not doing anything more than either having a party or presenting fashion.

Now I feel better having said this...your thoughts?

  5. Here are my thoughts on the biggest dissappointments which have put us in this situation

    1) Mario....not just his lack of sacks, but mostly his lack of leadership, and positive influence on those around him

    2) Sheppard...just disappeared...is around the ball but not a huge influence...watching Patrick Willis shows us what we are missing

    3) Aaron Williams...we counted on him and he was BAD

    4) Wannstadt ....has not been positive, he has not got his players to rise above, lacks answers and adjustments.

    5) Gailly...I expected better play calling....end of first half against the Pats....inside the 15...6 straight plays without our best player Spiller on the field. That says it all.

If these people had lived up to their billing we would be near the top...not about to fall to the bottom...

    Agree or Disagree?

  6. BwaHaHa

    couldn't agree more

This guy was a made football player IMHO, with roids or something at Penn State and once he was to get tested he lost weight and strength.

He was just like his agent/advisor Arrington another PS player who was all talk, made fortune and never played a damn.

He was never what he appeared to be to the scouts, but he is just a SHARLOTIN. Just as many Bills fans knew instinctively

    BwaHaHa

  7. Remember the first game and the whining about a hand in his face....awe...poor little boy...I bet that Jim Kelly is sick about having helped sell him on coming to Buffalo. I hope a deer that he (williams) loves to hunt doesn't look him straight in the eye when he is hunting or Stuper Mario may run the other way.

Did you notice only Aaron Williams chased Chris Johnson to the endzone and most others stopped including Gilmore, supposedly the fastest Bill. Way to quit boys, and so early in the game.

Have we had even one good hit from a linebacker this year???

I bet that Talley who was waving the flag Sunday was sick and we do not see him back again this year.

the coaches need to bench people during this bye week...and play the hard workers....or all is lost. Football is not a game for wimps.

Candidates on the D include, Sheppard, Dareus, Mario, Gilmore

    Just do it Chan....please

  8. It's just like Fitz taking responsibility for the INT, when Pears is beat clean on a 3 man rush and he misses Stevie on the out route and it gets picked off. We know Wanny sucks as a DC, or that OL mess up sometimes. They just aren't going to throw coaches / other players under the bus. They are stand up guys.

They are not stand up guys

Stand up guys play for the team not their buddy

Stand up guys call out their teammates for not playing hard

Remember Howard Ballard and Jim K.

    Talley called out Bruuuuce

Andre was called out and told to stop pouting and play when he didn't like his contract

Team means more than individuals.....that is STAND UP

  9. I'm not saying Jackson will succeed. In fact, I think it is highly unlikely he will (with that clown Gailey as HC anyone on this team will struggle to succeed). However, we KNOW Fitz will not succeed, so even if Jackson being a capable starter is only 10%, that is a 10% higher chance than with Fitzputrick at the helm. If he flames out, the Bills are not in any worse position than if they had stuck with Ditz.

Of course, given the utter ineptitude of this organization, they won't make any decision that works out. A team that hires a first time GM who is already on Medicare and a head coach who flopped in both the pros and college, and starts a QB who has never shown starting QB talent is not destined to ever make the playoffs, let alone challenge for a championship. Losses are one thing, utter stupidity is another.

    Let's not be stupid here.

Fitz is a huge issue, but Jackson is not going to score 40 points. We may run the ball more with him but still our 1st issue is stopping points.

The first person to be replaced is Wanny and the second is Mario. All other changes should wait until they have the guts to show the team they are serious.

Replacing Fitz looks politically motivated to the masses.

  10. In 1981, the Baltimore Colts set the NFL record for allowing 533 points in a 16 game season, an average of 33.3 points per game allowed.

The 1966 NY Giants allowed 430 points in a 14 game schedule, averaging 35.8 points per game allowed.

Through 7 games, the Bills have allowed 227 points, averaging 32.43 points per game allowed. Projecting this over 16 games, this comes out to 519 points allowed for the season.

In short, this means that this years team could have one of the worst defenses IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL. Ouch.

And Gailly says there is no consideration to coaching change on the D

    WOW

Based on the fact that on the last touchdown pass that Stuper Mario was on the field (the worst passrusher on the line) the coach should be fired. That was the time to show the rest of the team you were serious about winning.

The best way to make a team hungry is to bench the $$$$$ and give snaps to the hardest workers.

  11. actually trying to follow your logic and not sure when you are referring to,

correct me if I am wrong

    1) Bills were down 28 -27 a missed two pointer makes them down by 2, in this scenario who cares if you are down by 2 or 1

    2) Bills kick the extra point near the end of the game and are up by 6 if they miss the point conversion they are up by 5 again who cares if you are by 5 or 6

    You are 100% right.

    Gailly never considered the option...

By the way, the coach that follows the pattern of the card the most is Belicheat....just sayin'

How many wins does he have?

  12. With the injuries and changes many people are concerned about the pass blocking schemes and run blocking. Frankly until the D line and the entire D actually decides to play the o line will have no effect on the outcome of the games.

Whether we lose by 20 or 35 it doesn't matter.

Remember how hopefull we were with Wanny and the signing of Mario....

How can an entire organization be so bad?

Do you realize that if we finish 3 & 13 it will not help...since we cannot hire the right coaches, or draft the right players...

    This is so depressing...

  13. Reading some of the posts and topics calling for the Bills to pack it up and move. Are u people serious? Im just as mad as anyone else with Buffalo's losing ways, poor coaching and Ralphs hiring that are a disater. But really at the end of the day guys, do you really want to see 30 Mayflower trucks in Ralph Wilson parking lot packing it up.

I hope it gets better, because the people who deserve a winning team the most are the fans of the Buffalo Bills.

Love em or leave em.... New England is looking for a few good fans!

This post is not directed at everyone, just some of the morons on here.

Speaking of morons...look at the mirror

It is not easy to be critical of your favorite team...and it is also not easy to cheer for a team including ownership and execs who seem to care less about the team than the fans,

We are not talking about a team that lost a few games, but a systemicly ineffective organization who show little ability or concern over years of the fans giving them hard earned dollars. If you were a fan of a particular car brand, how long would you deal with the dealership that could not provide you with basic opportunity to repair that car....

I may always be a Bills fan...but not proud of it, and with no visible sign of support for them.

  14. Making light of the punter change is a cheap shot in my opinion. It's much easier to plug in a new P and upgrade the position on the fly than it is the QB, HC or Def. Coord. positions.

You upgrade where you can, when you can. Does it fix much in the big picture? No, but that's no reason not to make the move. Powell is doing better than Moorman did.

Based on what we are seeing on the field it now appears more likely that Moorman was speaking up about internal team issues and was punished for doing so.

He was senior man and captain and likely challenged coaches and other players....ignoring him has put us where we are.

Just sayin....cutting a captain and punter 3 games in is fishy...if it smells like fish...

  15. This.

Also, some of the responses here are acting like he's making excuses. Which he isn't, at all. The reporter asked him a question, he responded. And what does Ronnie Lott have to do with Mario Williams? Cause he played injured? Well guess what, Mario is playing injured. As previously mentioned, he's a power rusher, basically playing one handed.

Ronnie Lott actually played, he showed up to the fight, unlike Mario who runs the other way. Mario is close to being as big a fraud as Maybin.

  16. How Mario Williams has been completely neutralized for the first 4 games. He obviously was a monster in Houston, he has the talent and he doesnt appear to be hurt. Are they double teaming him in each game? Shouldnt that free up someone else to get to the QB? Is it the type of D that the Bills are playing, the schemes. Seriously can anyone explain why he has been basically invisible?

Money has made him a sissy...game one he complained about being punched...today he didn't even get punched in the nose...he was running away...

Soft, cowardly, weak minded...whatever word you want to describe it...I am so glad I gave up my season tickets after 17 years....what a waste my cheering effort, my money and my love of the Bills would have been today...and so many other days....

the 70,000 fans care more than the players.... we need to stop idolizing players who do not earn it
