  1. Maybin is the best example of Ralph, Littman and Overdorf run this team.

Do not spend money on quality people who know how to run a team and then let them do it, but waste money on a player who had 1 season of football and pay him $27M guaranteed. Then they cry about it.

We should have seen how questionable this pick was based on 1 yr and his agent JJ Arrington from Penn. Arrington was the same situation, big choice, hold out and then bust. Arrington tought Maybinb well.

The decision on Maybin is, cut him now, or get some football people who can develop players.

    :wallbash:

  2. Maybin is looking much, much better. The kid has instinct to get to the QB -- if only he can harness that instinct for pass coverage, we may have something special in a couple years.

The only thing special for Maybin needs to be Special Teams play or he will be cut.

  3. No idea if there's already another topic on this subject, but I was reading through all the headlines from the game yesterday and the Toronto reporters continue to have no problem bashing the whole idea of the Bills playing there. It seems that most articles out of Toronto just reiterate how horrible attending a Bills game is. I understand that most of the Bills games there so far have been unexciting, but if they can't appreciate last night's game, what can they ever appreciate? I can't fully express how much this annoys me right now, but I do know that for all that the Bills put us through, us true Bills fan do appreciate what we have.

Is anyone else annoyed with this attitude coming from Toronto?

Toronto has never identified with Buffalo or the Bills.

they see themselves as a world city not lunch bucket. Most people from Toronto think of Irv Weinstein and fires on the east side news in relating to Buffalo.

Most NFL fans in Toronto follow the winners in the past..Miami, Dallas, Indy, These are the teams they saw on TV.

    IMHO

  4. Just thought I'd express myself and vent for a moment.

I can think of no more disrespectful and derogatory team name in all of American sport.

Could you imagine the Harlem Blackskins or the San Francisco Yellows?

I cringe every time I hear their name....oh well.

As a non Native American I resent your people taking all the money away from my people in your casinos

  5. Nix knows what game Schobel has been playing.

What do you expect him to do?

He is forcing him to wait as long as he can so he has less of s chance of getting on another team.

Schobel has been lying since day one and if you blame this on the Bills you are nutts.

I hope Nix plays as dirty as he can and then gets a draft choice..7th rounder would be more than enough...

Schobel is a lying gutless guy... he sure teaches his kids well !!!

  6. Getting away from the Tampa-2, which is being phased-out by most teams, and going to the 3-4, which is a defense that allows for great flexibility and confusion, is a good thing. It also forces the offense to learn how to play against it.

the other 3 teams in our AFC east also play the same D so it gives us no advantage in our conference.

The old Bills always tried to be 1 step ahead and never play the same as the AFC east.

However itr will help our offence playing against it in practice when the meet the AFC east

  7. The guy was solid all year long and kept the best DE in college football, Derrick Morgan, in check every time he lined up across from him in the bowl game I watched. I think he's going to be a quality starter in the NFL @ OT. He has good feet, good strength, drives through his opponent to finish blocks, and looks to make blocks downfield after the initial contact.

Solid is not what you want at #9

the only sure thing at 9 may be Spillner and then tackle in the second round

  8. OK so what we have now is Trent, Fitz and Brohm. Per Nevergiveup, we might have Trent as QB next year.

Can The Chan fix what we have?? We know what we have in Fitz, he is a decent but not great backup and can win a couple of games if the starter gets hurt.

But right now I am unsure he can get Trent back to were he was before the Arizona game in 08.

If Chan can get Edwards to play at a decent level IMO it will be one of great coaching jobs in recent years. I think he would have a better shot at coaching Brohm up, at least he tried to get the ball to his wideouts in the one game he played.

    what do y'all think???

Trent's biggest issues were not mechanical but mental.

I believe that he has the physical tools but his concussion affected him severely in two ways.

    1) his processing ability was affected and slower after the injury. There was no comparison from his early pre injury to post injury decisions. He constantly checked down because his processing time was slow and he forced his reads to be reduced to only primary and check down.

    2) his personality changed and where was once confident and in control he became quiet. This was widely reported his huddle control in the early years was one of his strengths...he showed confidence and leadership. He changed to quiet and introverted.

I hope the year of healing can bring him back...if not then it is time to say good bye.

I may be against some of the things Ralph does but I do think he deserves more respect than he was shown in this article

AS a season ticket holder I have treated as well as I expected from a Billion dollar industry. Donahoe was a total jerk and the failure of the team on the field ahs distroyed by relationship more than the Toronto game and other such crap.

If I could tell one thing to Ralph it would be this.

Since you have such a terrible record picking good football people, and the people that closely advise you like Littman and Overdorf, give you this sage advise, I would worry about your financial position. What makes Ralph think that Littman and the Detroit crew are any better than the people he has chossen to run his football operation.

Ralph you may be broke now and you just dont know it.

  10. For the sake of this question, assume all things are equal given RFA/possible UFA status. The list contains many of these players who may or may not be affected by the CBA issue, as well as some RFA's that would require compensation. That being said, all things equal, who is your top choice to be under center, opening day of 2010?

If Edwards can come back from his head injury (I am conviced that was his problem) he can still be the guy we need

  11. It seems like somef people are calling for the removal of Lynch from this team. I personally want to see him stay and possibly return to form. Would like to know what the general consensus on this forum is...

Why cut him and create another weak position to have to fill. The Bills have constantly retool positions that did not need it (consider the safety position with Leonard, Simpson, Witner, Wilson, etc and we still draft Bryd)

Lets keep our strengths and work on real weakness

  12. A couple of threads made me think of this poll.

I miss the Red End zones , even though they turned a shade of pink it is better than we have now.

    Thoughts?

Changing the endzone was the second worst thing the Donahore did as the Bills GM & President. Notice that the Colts in their new building had Blue endzones.

Polian gets it. Ralph doesn't get it...

  13. Clemens is one free agent qb I think the Bills should go after if they can't get Bradford or Claussen in Round 1. I was really impressed with Clemens as a starter with the Jets and I was surprised when they drafted Sanchez. Looked to me like Clemens was gonna be a solid starter for years. He comes from a cold weather college team in Oregon and he seems be a tough competitor with good arm strength. He would probably love to come to Buffalo and face the Jets twice a year. He's a free agent so we would not have to give up anybody for him. I really think this could be a better option than giving up some prime picks for McNabb whose career is clearly on the downside. We can not afford to give up draft picks.

    A J-E-T-S cast off.NFW ever :censored:

  14. I'm embaressed and I'm not even in the Bills front office about this coaching search. I feel like everybody is laughing at us. I didn't think things would get even worse than the season, but this coaching search is even harder to take then the Jauron debacle of the last several years.

How does this front office and Bills fans save face from this utter chaos of a coaching search. I can't think of anything they could do to save face other than hire Cowher, but of course that isn't going to happen.

After hearing that Harbaugh turned down the job, how would you feel if you were Leslie Frazier? If I was Frazier and the Bills came running now, I wouldn't take the job offer either. We may have just blown it with him as well.

Who is left when Frazier and Grimm turn down the Bills as well?? Don't expect Garrett to interview. Why would he leave Dallas and that new stadium to come to a hopeless team like Buffalo with this inept front office and owner.

It is really easy to fix this. All Ralph has to do is to pledge never to be involved in the day to day activities and stay out of the draft process. The old fart is just Al Davis plau 15 years. I know that he has huge history and what use to be football knowledge but it has long passed him by and my take is that people do not want to coach or manage in a situation where the owner tells the head coach who to star at QB and tells the GM who to pick in the draft.

This year when Jauron was reportedly told that Langston Walker was cut by the front office, that ended any chance of getting an experienced head coach. I cannot prove that was true, rumors all over the place, but other football people hear rumors to and why would you want to put yourself into a position to fail. ;)

  15. Buddy Nix has never hired a coach in his life. No one in the Bills office has ever hired a successful coach. So who makes the judgements?

Ralph has never been right. Brandon doesn't know how to throw a football, Modrak supported all the guys in the past 8 to 10 years and should be fired as well.

This is classic, blind leading the blind.

  16. Out of curiosity, is anybody concerned that the same decision makers currently carrying out the HC search still have not fired Tom Modrak and John Guy? It is beyond me how these two have escaped the guillotine? As Lynch works his way to a one year suspension, and in the process adding another high first round bust to Modrak’s already dubious record, I just can’t see how this guy is surviving within the organization. The Maybin pick alone is worthy of a pick-slip; probably another hurdle to landing a legitimate coach.

Consider that i n the previous 2 years these "experts" fixed our O line. by scouting veterans and signing them to huge contracts at center, tackle and guard, only to have them cut and waste millions of dollars and more importantly time.

If we believe that it takes 2 years for a line to be good if they work together, then they cost us 5 years of bad o line play.

We cut the players, but either the coaches couldn't coach or the people who signed the players could not scout. Nobody at the time got fired.

I think these 2 guys should have been fired for wasting the time of this franchise. Total failure.

The college draft can be a crap shoot, but free agents who have been in the league for a few years should not be.

  17. That he might be willing to give Brian Schottenhimer a chance at Head Coach? I am not saying I want this but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he comes in for an interview after the season.

    you must be right

Nix was not a good hire 2 years ago, or 7 years ago but at age 70 he is, therefore Marty who was not a good hire 4 years ago or 6 years ago, or 7 years ago etc...must be a good hire since he is older and been out of the game for 5 years
