  1. I think you have it backwards BillsVet. DJ cast his lot with TE. Jauron CHOSE Trent because he thought Trent would play the style of offense that Dick prefers, CONSERVATIVE, take no chances, play not to lose.
  2. I think we can all agree neither the Pack or the Bills have a good O-line. The point is you said any QB would look like crap behind the Bills O-line. That is just not true. A GOOD QB playing behind a poor O-line will still look like a good QB. Does ANYONE have ANY doubt that Rodgers is a GOOD QB just because he plays behind a POOR line? Despite being sacked 6 times & intercepted 3 times in the game against the Bucs, Rodgers had them in a position to pull out the win up until the last minute of the game.
  3. Hopefully they get one in the offseason. Their first move will be to bring in a competent QB.
  4. You know what, Rodgers was sacked 6 times in that game & was intercepted 3 times but he STILL did not look like crap!! I mean to say by that, that he still looked like a GOOD QB that was playing behind a poor O-line. A QB I would be HAPPY to have as the QB of my team. I would bet there are a number of fans of a number of teams that feel the same way about him. You can not say the same about Trent. The Bills were lucky they played the Bucs early in the season. Aside from the Pats* game they have been in most of the games they have played & I would not be surprised if they win more games than the Bills.
  5. I think as you said, Whitner is in fact saying Trent is not a good QB & needs to be replaced. I think by speaking out like that it is just further proof that Trent is not a leader & needs to be replaced. As far as the "team concept" aspect, maybe Donte knows the majority of the team feels the same way & is as a leader acting as a voice for the team.
  6. What team gets to the playoffs without a good defense? Flutie played a MAJOR role in the Bills making the playoffs & would have led them to the Superbowl if he was given the chance.
  7. Rodgers is playing behind a MUCH WORSE O-line in Greenbay. He does not look like crap!!!! I wonder how many sacks Trent would take behind that Packer line. I would bet many more than Rodgers has.
  8. I think the Tacks will owe him a HUGE amount of money before next season if they want to keep him. That is the reason the owner mandated he start after their bye. I agree with zazie I would take him in a heatbeat if he gets cut.
  9. Yeah, I would take Lamonica right after Kelly. Lamonica was not the leader that Kemp or Kelly were though.
  10. As long as we are including retired Bills my choice as starter would be Jim Kelly.
  11. There you go being disingenuous again. You stated in post #10 that you KNEW the thread would turn into a Orakpo>Maybin thread, & that is exactly the reason you started it. Which post between #1 & #9 asks your opinion about Orakpo vs Maybin?
  12. She's not bad, but in general I prefer dibs avatars.
  13. So you admit you were being disingenuous in your first post. I knew you were.
  14. Did you watch even one game the Bills played last year?
  15. I did not mean this to be about Trent sucks as much as what a great QB prospect Freeman is. The guy is 6'6", 255lbs, the size of a DE. He can move around in the pocket & throw the ball with accuracy while on the move. After the Bucs lost their first 7 Games, not knowing if they would even win a game this year & the Bills situation being what it is, this is the first Sunday I have really enjoyed in quite a while. The Bucs honored the 1979 team & inducted Leroy Selman as the 1st player in the ring of honor today & wore the Creamsicle uniforms. It was nice to beat the Pack, a former division rival of the Bucs that I have seen the Bucs lose to so many times in the past while wearing that uniform. The beer really does taste better after a Win.
  16. Really. Anyone that doesn't think a QB can make a big difference on a team should watch the replay of this game.
  17. That could well be the NFC Championship game.
  18. He sucks as a Head Coach, but he is a good defensive Coach & his players love him. I don't think Dick will have any trouble getting a DC job in the future if he wants one.
  19. That was Hovans response to the question "how does it feel to get a win?" Great game today by the Bucs. Freeman in his first NFL game looked better than Trent has this year. I feel better about the Bucs, where they are at & where they are going than I do about the Bills after todays game. The Bucs defense made some big plays today, & Freeman threw 3 TD's.
  20. I agree with you Marv is wrong about Jauron. We will see if Peters gets voted to the pro bowl in the future. Marv said Peters was talented, but that he wanted out of Buffalo & was affecting the locker room. I believe Marv.
  21. The Bills drafted Wood with the pick they got from Philly for Peters.
  22. You also need a special athlete that also HAS to be intelligent to excel as a Center. Two completly different skill sets. A center will not play well at Left tackle, but guess what NO Left tackle would play well at Center if thrown in there. Yeah Wood has as a ROOKIE played like will be a great player in the future. This past year was the ONLY year Brandon was GM, so you can't go back further than that to judge the front office. I like the moves Russ has made in the past year, I was happy with the draft & the TO signing. If Peters wanted to be in Buffalo, I would have been all for resigning him. Marv Levy has said that Peters wanted out of Buffalo & I believe Marv. Under the circumstances, I think Brandon made the best trade he could have.
  23. I was happy with his draft last year. The next GM could do worse than Brandon has up to this point.
  24. For you younger guys, the term Taxi squad originated in Cleveland. The owner of the Browns also owned a Taxi company. He hired guys that did not make the cut to drive his cabs until such time as a starter was injured, then they would be signed to the team.
