  1. maybe... so what are we looking at here? an eventual SB victory, or group sainthood?
  2. DBs should be chanting 'the wind is your friend' during warm-ups if it snows bad enough to limit visibility, yeah.. but it's the wind - with or without snow - that sends QBs and kickers back to the bench shaking their heads.
  3. are you seeking responses that affirm your opinion - and thus, please you? then no.. I disagree. 😊
  4. yep.. but both QBs will have to be careful on their sideline throws - where a ball hanging up might allow the CB or safety help to make a play on it. Taylor's gonna have to hit plays between the hashes to back the Jets off. jeez, I hope it doesn't come down to Carpenter.. cat needs a hypnotist, or something 😊
  5. that's ok.. i rooted for the Taliban in Rambo III .. damned Stallone! edit.. on second thought, rooting for the Patriots is worse.. damned Belichick!
  6. haha - guilty by 'Association' ! https://youtu.be/bPYT9Vyu62A
  7. ..passes with a lot of air under 'em, and place kicks. we may see mid / late game decisions, by both coaches, made because the wind has become a factor. i'm looking forward to this game.. especially how good a job both coaching staffs did in preparing... and especially how well they've prepared for the little things - like wind gusts - that may become bigger issues that impact their players' ability to execute.
  8. on Greg Williams.. I may have posted at the time of his hiring, that he began his pro career cutting tape for Oilers' staff under Pardee - which include DC Buddy Ryan and assistant Jeff Fischer.. this is where he became enamored with aspects of the 46 D and later - as Oiler DC under Fischer - credited his safety, Rolles, for making it work.. just sayin. I've already posted why Rex is doing what he's doing and why, so some of you can understand the rationale in fixing what ain't broke. I'm certain Rex thought this collection of talent could execute his D - and improve it. I'm just surprised that he misread the unit's ability to implement his D, so badly. all he had to do was fix the O, but his passion for coaching defenses had to be fed.
  9. honestly, I don't remember how Rex game planned that win.. but I'm thinking that may have been one of the solid efforts in the new D.. either way, I'm thinking #90 was on the field that day
  10. or maybe Rex figures his best shot with a banged up D, is to throw Fitz in the type of pressure cooker most of the fans and some of the players wanted to see this year - rather than the grand experiment that never took
  11. SOB will probably get 2 of our 6 sacks, as Rex goes for broke
  12. not sure which would be better for Rex.. winning by abandoning his 2015 defense, or losing by staying the course.. if it was any other team, i'm thinking he plays the same as he has.. but because it's the Jets - i wouldn't be surprised to see him let the dogs out. this may be a game that leaves us wondering - where was that all season? and more pissed off than ever!
  13. ok.. the M Williams era ends.. i understand he thought the D was crap, but i don't know if those waltzes he shared with opposing TEs were due to his indifference or decaying skills. either way, you can't have that on a team that just gave Rex the ok to keep on keepin on in 2016. my only question for Rex is.. who else doesn't fit, and how close are we to having the 'right' guys to play his D?
  14. it would be cheaper for the Bills to invest in getting Rex ventriloquist lessons, and make him a sock puppet. since Ryan is gonna tear it down and build it back up - his way - i don't see the point in canning Thurman.. any DC under Rex must be satisfied with playing more of a subordinate role than they would on any other staff. that doesn't very attractive for guys with their own ideas.
  15. damn straight you will! so will I! it could be worse.. it could go wide right.. now that would be a tough way to go out, but at least we wouldn't have to watch it over and over and over... 😀
  16. I was happy when Trump bowed out of the bidding, but I'm getting this feeling that losing the chance to own the Bills gave him the time to make a run at POTUS.. and that in the near future, a nuclear holocaust originating from Trump's stubby middle finger on the FU button of all buttons will devour our planet - just as the Bills's kicker sends the game winning field goal through the night sky of the last Super Bowl ever played
  17. thanks for that, but I haven't seen complaints about radiation to the DEP, just folks concerned with signs of polluted springs and ponds, in areas where JKLM was drilling.
  18. well, that's why i wrote what i wrote - because it's players and coaches that write the league's history - and the ones that do the unexpected get respect
  19. c'mon man.. i'm on a roll besides - and i got no reason to disbelieve you - but that's a far cry from the old steel curtain fans i knew back in Pennsyltucky.. they didn't even respect our OJ team when they clobbered us in the playoffs back when.. but hey, times change
  20. it's not that Steeler fans don't respect the Bills.. they'd have to notice them first. talented teams that compete hard and play smart win more than they lose.. and teams that win when they must win to keep their season alive, make other teams take notice. the Jets are getting noticed, now.. but even if we can beat them with so much on the line for them - i'm sorry to say that the story will be about how the Jets squandered their opportunity - not how the Bills seized the moment. conversely, because the Jets' backs are to the wall, a win against the floundering but dangerous Bills means something. proves something. maybe next season we can survive long enough to play and win enough meaningful games to get the league's attention. maybe next season we can leave the tricks and stunts to reality tv stars, and concentrate on building a talented, hard, and smart winner.
  21. "here ya go, Dougie.. go buy yourself a 2-gap DE who generates pressure.. in fact.. get two! ha ha ha ha.. "
  22. thanks for that here i was, getting all worked up about us possibly having one of the most despicable owners in the league.. but the image of what you describe brings me back to something we all can relate to - and for me, at least, humanizes the man.. the myth.. the legend.. and of course - the proud owner of one the most futile franchises in sports history.
