You mean this thread started by VA Bills? Where approximately 8 people ignored your link to the Akron article after you posted it? Thanks for pointing that out. Did you even care about asking me what my opinion on that might be first? Both are racist but the Akron thing is far, far worse. The kids, when caught, should be tried under the same hate crime laws that apply to everyone else. If you've paid attention to my posts over the years you'd see I believe that hate crime laws should apply "to all" hate crimes and that all equality policies should apply to everyone too. Thanks for singling me out without cause though.

One Of The Funniest Movie Scenes Ever!!

Diane: Actually, I'd like to join you, but I have class tonight. Thornton Melon: Oh. How 'bout tomorrow night? Diane: I have class then, too. Thornton Melon: I'll tell you what, then. Why don't you call me some time when you have no class? Diane: [laughs] Alright. Maybe I will. ______________________________________________________________ Thornton Melon: Oh, you left out a bunch of stuff. Dr. Phillip Barbay: Oh, really. Like what for instance? Thornton Melon: First of all you're going to have to grease the local politicians for the sudden zoning problems that always come up. Then there's the kickbacks to the carpenters, and if you plan on using any cement in this building I'm sure the teamsters would like to have a little chat with ya, and that'll cost ya. Oh and don't forget a little something for the building inspectors. Then there's long term costs such as waste disposal. I don't know if you're familiar with who runs that business but I assure you it's not the boyscouts. Dr. Phillip Barbay: That will be quite enough, Mr. Melon! Maybe bribes, kickbacks and Mafia payoffs are how YOU do business! But they are NOT part of the legitimate business world! And they are certainly not part of anything I am doing in this class. Do I make myself clear, Mr. Melon! Dr. Phillip Barbay: ...now, not withstanding Mr. Mellon's input. The next question for us is where to build our factory? Thornton Melon: how 'bout fantasyland? -
How bad would Maybin had to be.....

Thanks! I think moving him around (if he can handle it) is an excellent idea. It really causes problems for an offense and they have to keep their eyes on where he is at all times if he turns out to be a force on the field. -
I remember Marty Schottenheimer started a game with three straight play action passes one time. He was known as such a conservative coach that the defense bit on every single one and they ended up scoring a TD. I'm sure the defense was a little slower to make reads for the rest of the game too.

One Of The Funniest Movie Scenes Ever!!
Steely Dan replied to Steely Dan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I saw an article at the time from a movie columnist stating that Murphy should have gotten a best actor nomination for that film. Caddyshack made a lot of money for Rodney. He was a successful comedian but Caddyshack made him a star and opened the door for him being a leading man in comedies. BTW, his stores were tall and fat; Thornton Melon: [television commercial] Hi there. Are you a large person? Pleasantly plump? A little on the hefty side, perhaps? Well, let's face it: Are you FAT? When you go jogging, do you leave pot-holes? When you make love, do you have to give directions? At the zoo, do the elephants throw YOU peanuts? Do you look at a menu and say 'OK'? Well, now, you can eat all you want, because at Thornton Melon's "Tall & Fat" stores, we've got you covered. That's right. Fine woolen, and woolen-blend suits and sport coats, in all the larger sizes - husky, stout, extra-stout, and the new Hindenburg line. And for you ladies we have caftans, muumuus, and our own exclusive A-frame in all colors and patterns. Yes, we have miles and miles of fabric. So take it from me, Thornton Melon, if you want to look thin, you hang out with fat people. -
Still, $4,000? Stainless steel? Gold or platinum I might understand but why anyone would need a $4,000 flower pot is beyond me. It reminds me of Dennis Kozlowski's $6,000 shower curtain.

Whitner could lose starting spot?
Steely Dan replied to BuffaloBlood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A semi-lucid article from WGR? I'm stunned! Musta been a bad day for their writers. -
I just looked and I can't find a single flower pot selling even close to $4,000 on the internet. Anyone?
-
"The guy mentions I took some flower pots," Paiva recounted for the Herald. "I said, 'I don't know what you're talking about.' He said, 'We got you on the security camera.' And I said, 'Yeah, I took them, but they were out with the trash.' He said, 'You gotta get them back. You don't even want to know who they belong to!' " $4,000 flower pots?

Sanders has a history of getting the most from d-line

Greggo was a yeller, how'd that work out? Dungy wasn't a yeller, how'd he work out? Marv wasn't a yeller, how'd he work out? To say a yeller and screamer and bad guy coach would win more often than a more reserved coach who concentrates on fundamentals is not a very well researched conclusion. -
Well, it did get the kids off the street

Whitner could lose starting spot?
Steely Dan replied to BuffaloBlood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously? You do know he was injured with a shoulder separation for the last half of last year, right? Even though he was injured the coaches realized he was a better player than anyone behind him who was healthy. Here's a good Tim Graham article from 11/03/2008 on the injury. Safety Donte Whitner is out indefinitely with a separated right shoulder, leaving the Bills without their vocal leader and most versatile defensive back. Coach Dick Jauron on Monday would only list Whitner as out on a week-to-week basis, while noting the injury was "fairly significant." He ended up playing 5 of the remaining 8 games. I believe if you're going to judge him on the last half of 2008 you have to take his injury into account. JMO -

No, I was surprised by that too. Great fighter. I had a lot of fun with friends watching him. Tsk, Tsk. now, now boys. Play nice! Brazilian boxer and four-time world champion Acelino "Popo" Freitas told the G1 website of Brazil's largest TV network, Globo, that he was a close friend of Gatti and his wife, and that he "knew they were having some sort of problem and were about to separate." Hmm, I wonder if this might be foul play? I wonder how much he was worth and insured for?

Linkage During a pickup game after the clinic, Crawford, a guard at Xavier University, put down a two-handed jam over James. "I had introduced myself to LeBron a short time before," said Miller, who is back home in Chili. "I shot footage of Crawford dunking over LeBron, and LeBron called over a Nike representative." The Nike employee, basketball senior director Lynn Merritt, quickly confiscated the tapes from anyone who might have recorded the play — including Miller. You have to be effing kidding me!!

Linky The 5-foot-11, 205-pound hard-hitting safety from Ohio State was been a booming success with pro scouts and general managers. Linky A one-week experiment could lead to a midseason shuffle of the Buffalo Bills defensive backfield, with hard-hitting strong safety Donte Whitner gaining an even larger role at a new position. Linky Great skill set. Runs well, hits hard, and makes sound decisions. Anticipates well and will break up some plays. Can thump running backs in the box. A team leader. Still developing. Linky That time away from the team will hurt, but the coaching staff seems to love the hard-hitting safety. -

Here's an article from July 6th. Parker was arrested Friday by special agents with the Food and Drug Administration Office of the Inspector General and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Federal prosecutors oppose her release and she remains in custody. Shaffer told Parker that she was facing serious time behind bars if she is convicted. The first count carries a maximum term of 10 years in prison, the second counts could garner a 20-year term and the third could mean an additional four years in federal prison. But Shaffer explained that those prison terms could increase to life in prison if anyone suffered serious bodily injury or death.

Geez, you're good. You can already tell booms from busts before they even take the field in their first pre-season game. You should play the lottery a lot because you're a psychic phenomenon!
