I think that's a very nice thing to say. Y'know, I really hope you win. Bring it on Mighty Mouse. Ummmmm, thanks? I've heard you hated "kitty" (Even though the safeguard won't let me print the word I think we all get it. ) I believe you're not worthy of being a page three girl.

Believe me I'm not touting the extremely little athletic ability I have, but seriously, I could throw more accurately than he does. The guy is horrendous. TE's stat line against the Saints would be a huge improvement for him. This is his stat line for the year; 1 TD, 4 Int., 378 yards passing and a QB rating of 39.8. Yes, you read that right 39.8. The 2007 Number 1 pick in the draft has a 39.8 QB rating. Davis loved him because he's big and can throw the ball far. Davis doesn't care much beyond size and speed. How's that goin Al? Damn, at least the man has tremendous fashion sense. Michael Crabtree looked visibly relieved when the Raiders took Heyward-Bey instead of him. I will laugh my buttocks off If the Raiders draft him next year!!

If you don't understand that most companies are still going to offer private services to business' then you don't get it. Will the private companies shrink in size. Most probably yes, but that's not a huge problem. Capitalism is all about competition. The government plan isn't going to offer the perks that high end BC/BS coverage or Preferred Care will. They will offer care without the BS that comes with the private insurers, read the article above. The private companies have done this to themselves. If they were providing coverages that weren't driving the cost of healthcare up exponentially this wouldn't be a problem. As I stated above their is a minimum amount of money hospitals and doctors can take to ensure their services continue. Do you believe that hospitals and doctors will accept losses? Think about it. So will the profits of the huge insurers drop, yep. Having that happen is not a bad thing in the slightest.

Link Oakland Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson told investigators that he was struck by head coach Tom Cable and suffered a broken jaw, his lawyer told NFL Network on Monday. A few weeks after the Aug. 5 incident, Cable said "nothing happened." "When all the facts come out, everything will be fine," he said. Hanson's lawyer, John McGuinn, disputed that, calling the skirmish a "textbook case of felony assault," according to NFL Network. McGuinn said that Hanson is still being paid by the Raiders but has been told to stay away from the team's facility. That hasn't stopped players from soliciting his advice. Good Lord they are a team in disarray.

As if anyone needed an excuse to call me a bonehead.

Most definitely. Dev's especially after writing this I'm packing up the computer and sending it back from whence it came. Thanks Deano, but I lack the funds for anything but essentials right now. -
The "Challenge" is in funding, not the care provided. If they do it right, and that's a HUGE IF, it will be funded adequately and if not they'll increase the premiums if necessary. The worst thing they can do is to put the money received into the general fund of taxes. I've heard some pundits say that if the SS money had been set aside and used exclusively for the SS system. it would have zero trouble funding itself. Private insurance companies ration and deny. So I guess I don't understand your point. I believe there will be a lot less rationing and denying by the government run health care. Congressmen and Senators are elected offices. If a patient is denied a kidney transplant in their district they'd better get their asses in gear and fight for that patient. When I was first diagnosed with cancer I was, fortunately, working for an international company that took care of me very well. One of the nurses told me that if a person is working for a small business and they get cancer the business will fire them because they can't afford the insurance. What do you think happens when people's bills are way above their ability to pay? This is from the article I linked above; Doctors, hospitals join Blue Cross suit Los Angeles Times Staff Writer April 20, 2007 The largest organizations representing California physicians and hospitals joined a lawsuit against Blue Cross of California on Thursday, accusing the state's largest health plan of illegally and routinely refusing to pay them millions of dollars for medical care provided to enrollees whose policies were later canceled. The move puts the doctors and hospitals on the side of patients, regulators and consumer advocates who have criticized Blue Cross and its competitors for canceling individuals' policies after they incur costly treatment. Such cancellations have left some patients with significant financial or medical hardships. _____________________________________________________ "Blue Cross' pre-authorization for healthcare services is an advance determination of the medical necessity of a proposed procedure only; it is not a guarantee of payment," she said, adding that the caveat is "stated expressly" when the pre-authorization request is made. "Our authorizations for care, based on medical necessity, include express statements that they are not guarantees of payment," she said. What psychic told you that? What's common sense is that hospitals and doctors will need a certain amount of money to keep operating. The government plan cannot go below that number. They have to provide enough money and enough profit for these institutions to keep operating. Private health plans will have to do the same thing. The competition won't make Blue Cross go bankrupt. There will still be the necessity of offering private insurance by corporations. Every job I've been hired for has given me a choice of plans to choose from. The government plan will, most likely, be one of the choices, not the only choice. When I worked at Strong there was a ton of wasted money being spent on unnecessary things. Making them tighten their belt would be a very good thing. IMO. How will that be done? Kinda like the Patriot Bill but that was almost an overnight thing. Who do Medicaid and Medicare report to now? Where is all of their paperwork funneled through now? I worked for a small business pharmacy when I was in high school and my early college years. The owner had the worst time trying to get private insurers to pay up and no problem from Medicare and Medicaid. He even told one person from, I believe it was Preferred Care, that the company should spend less money advertising and more money paying up.

Steely Dan replied to Dan III's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, it's time to take a close look at the strength and conditioning department. They had Roscoe in that role on Sunday. He'll probably keep the job and if he doesn't then I'd flip a coin between Jackson and Langster. -

I highly doubt he fires Jauron during the season unless he has the balls to hire Cowher.

Pondering About The Game and season
Steely Dan replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I basically named it the slightly good, the bad and the ugly. This team is young excuse is no longer valid, IMO. They have enough experience to be a lot better than they are. I think AVP may survive the bloodletting at the end of the season. Not in the slightest. They have to let him go through the growing pains. I hope to God the Bills are able to hire somebody like Rex Ryan. I think he's the best rookie coach and is one of the best HCs in the league. I love his we're not gonna fear anyone attitude it has really rubbed off on his players. I wonder if his brother would be just as good? If Ralph wants a SB win he's going to have to cough up the money to get Bill Cowher, JMO. -
Pondering About The Game and season
Steely Dan replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not so sure they should scrap the no-huddle right now. They need to use it more judiciously. BTW, one thing I forgot to mention under the ugly was Parrish's fumble on the return. After the Pets* game protecting the ball should be stamped into these guys noggins. -
Pondering About The Game and season
Steely Dan replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you. Those snaps were mystifying and should have been part of the ugly. The Bills are mighty thin at center. Their depth chart doesn't even list a center behind Hangartner. That might have a lot to do with it. They don't have a lot of choice. I guess the emergency center plan is to move Wood to center. -
Pennington doubtful for week 4!!!
Steely Dan replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather have Pennington against Buffalo rather than Henne. JMO -
Moral victories count thismuch in a NFL game. So the veryslight good news from the game and some of this season are: The Bills defense is the first one to hold the Saints number one offense under 45 points so far this season. In his first two games of the season Brees had 358 and 311 yards passing for an average of 10.5 and 9.1 yards per pass. He threw 6 TD's in the first week and three in the second week. He had QB ratings of 137.0 and 118.6. The Bills held Brees to 172 yards passing for an average of 5.9 yards per pass. He didn't throw a single TD against Buffalo and his QB rating for the game was 72.8. The Bills were still in it before half time. FJ proved that he is going to give AVP the problem of figuring out who will get the most touches after ML comes back. TO didn't blow up on the sidelines. Ryan Denney and Chris Kelsay proved the Bills were smart to keep them on the roster. Denny caught a TD pass and Kelsay was a monster with 6 solo tackles, 2 assists and a sack. Schobel added a sack also. (BTW, for all of the Schobel detractors he has 6 tackles, 2 sacks, one forced fumble and an interception returned for a 26 yard TD so far for the year. He is currently tied for sixth place with 23 other players for sacks. He is one of three D Line players this years to have an int. and the only one to return it for a TD. He is tied for 1st in the number of passes defensed by a DL. The low number of tackles is due to, IMO, teams staying away from him.) Josh Reed proved he is one of the better slot receivers in the league. DJ seemed less conservative today in play calling. AVP is a much better play caller than TS. The D is almost a solid unit. The bad: They're the not ready for primetime players. They have a lot to do before they can start playing with big boys. The Saints had 133 yards and 157 yards rushing in their first two games. The Bills let them have 222 yards on the ground. The Bills have 90 yards and 218 yards rushing in the first two games.Today the Bills had 89 yards against the 6th ranked D in run stopping and 90 against the Pets who rank 10th. The 218 yards were put up against the second worst run D. They need to improve in that area against the better teams or they wont do much. Run and stop the run. 'Nuff said The O line is a work in progress but not completely abysmal. The Ugly TE had a 114. 1 QB rating against the Pets and a 97. 5 against TB. Today he had a 56.4. His average yards per pass were 8.5 and 7.4 Today he had a 4.5 average. In his first two games he threw for 212 yards and 230. Today he threw for 156.0. He was sacked 4 times in the first game and twice in the second. Today he was sacked 4 more times by a team who only had two after the first two games. (BTW, the Pets* have six total sacks too. Obviously 4 of those were against Buffalo.) Trent's long balls were extremely inaccurate. He was lucky he had only one pick. He couldn't have hit the barn side of a broad today. TO dropped another pass that he should have caught. The other balls thrown his way weren't TO's fault. Maybin hasn't been inactive so far this year but he might as well have been. He has one tackle over three games. Chris Ellis hasn't been injured according to injury reports yet he's been inactive for every game this year. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure his inactivity is just due to his sucking. JMO Well that's all my tired, tiny mind can come up with so far. I'm gonna go to bed.
