  1. You can tell he really likes Bradham. Perhaps the drop off from Alonso won't be as much as people thought.
  2. Not really. Soon our draft picks won't even be able to make the team. We have the 2nd best U25 talent in the NFL. Also, a 3rd round pick for a RB that ranks #3 all time in YPC? I'll take that deal any day If i'm another NFL team. I'm sure RBs with a 5.1 career YPC grow on trees.
  3. Yeah, Fred Jackson is 33 and it's a two back league. Two primary runners with contrasting styles is far more efficient than a single runner.
  4. No one is getting into a crazy bidding war, period. Even if you wanted to move the team to LA you wouldn't bid significantly over everyone else. It would cost at least another $1 billion to move the team, which subtracts from it's value in LA. That's why no one paid $800 million for the Jags even though they would be worth more in LA.
  5. This is why evaluating training camp OL play is so hard. Glenn's game is to get his hands on the defender and push them out of the play. You can't really play like that in TC.
  6. Most people will be correct and say he's a great player. The others will say "blah blah blah overrated blah blah bad run defense blah blah"
  7. Guys, we don't need a 5.1 yards per carry RB on the team. He isn't a full time back, so what's the point? It's not like a two RB system is more productive or anything. /s
  8. The Toronto group doesn't have the money to outbid Pegula. So much for the team being worth 2x as much in Toronto. Perhaps people in this thread don't understand how the NFL revenue system works? http://blogs.canoe.ca/krykslants/nfl/where-things-stand-with-the-toronto-group-bidding-on-the-buffalo-bills-answers-to-5-vital-questions-via-sources/
  9. They weren't willing to trade Spiller to aquire Bryce Brown, so what's changed? La Canfora probably forgot about that story and is speculating because it's the end of July and there aren't any real stories.
  10. http://www.newyorker...013/08/12/taken From the ACLU settlement: https://www.aclu.org/criminal-law-reform/aclu-announces-settlement-highway-robbery-cases-texas
  11. The only reason drugs are expensive is because of the war on drugs. If you made drugs legal gangs couldn't making money off selling them. It's that simple. Fighting the war on drugs means we WANT violence in our streets, it means we WANT addicts to steal to buy drugs. Do you think your local heroin junkie steals for the hell of it? He steals so he doesn't go into withdrawal. It's like some people never even heard of prohibition.
  12. From what I gather Dareus is entering the NFL program so he doesn't have to in Alabama. That's usually how these things for people that live/work out of state. The problem is that his drug of choice isn't even tested for by the program.
  13. Again, the Seahawks were the most penalized team in the NFL last year. It wasn't even close. They averaged 9.5 penalties for 88.4 yards last year. They had 30 more penalties than the next closest team (The Broncos).
  14. My point is that almost every good corner in the league plays like that. If it's going to result in Gilmore getting a lot of calls it's going to result in everyone else having it called against them too. We'll see the benefit of it on offense and the harm of it on defense. Just like every other team in the league. The Seahawks had the most penalties and penalty yards in the NFL last year.
  15. It involves testing players for substances on the banned list, which synthetic marijuana is NOT. "Our drug policy is one that has strict and well-defined drugs that are banned," Smith said, via NJ.com. "If they are not on the list, they can't serve as the basis for discipline." http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/35173/union-chief-winslow-wont-be-suspended
  16. He agreed to enter the NFL substance abuse program in order to have his charges dropped.
  17. Except synthetic marijuana is not tested for by the NFL. So the testing is pointless.
  18. So basically Dareus can keep on smoking? Synthetic marijuana is not on the NFLs banned substance list, and isn't tested for by the abuse program. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/35173/union-chief-winslow-wont-be-suspended
  19. Agreed, that may be the worst blog ever.
  20. Why would Hughes even testify? He's not going to incriminate himself in a court of law and has a right not to do so. Also, do you understand what reasonable doubt means? Reasonable doubt is the default mindset of any decent juror, and only evidence presented by the prosecution should swing them from that. If there is no evidence there is no conviction, period. Just because he's talked publicly about the case doesn't mean he can be forced to testify. Hughes has 5th amendment rights.
  21. MLB is being sued because they violate minimum wage laws. Yes, minor league baseball players are paid less than a McDonalds cashier. The pay goes up from like $5,000 a year to $10,000 when you hit the highest level. I would argue that college players are compensated far better.
  22. Lynch was godawful the last couple years he was here. Also, Jackson/Lynch wouldn't be that good of a 1-2 punch. In the red-zone, yes, but not between the 20s. They are too similar of runners and FJ was clearly the better player when we jettisoned Lynch. As far as Spiller goes, I'll let his career 5.1 yards per carry speak for itself.
  23. Manziel can pretty much do all the coke he wants. If he's not in the substance abuse program he gets tested once around training camp and that's it. Cocaine only stays in your system a few days, so there is very, very little chance of it showing up on the tests. If it's not performance enhancing and it's not weed you're not going to piss hot for the NFL.
