  1. You're right - this is no revelation. It's impressive in its ignorance, though. I suppose that if you are able to reduce everyone to a caricature in your own mind, then it's easier to enjoy a smug sense of superiority.
  2. That fool Karl Hand is still alive? I figured he would have drowned his racism in antifreeze cocktails by now. So blzrul - is this the kind of crap you think people who disagree with you actually cling to? You really aren't that pathetic, are you?
  3. Ate a bunch of avocado dip that had obviously turned brown long before the 12th month ended, and still shows no apparent hatred for his abductor.
  4. Austin: I'd miss all the other musicians, shows, TexMex, and Margaritas. Texas: I could certainly do without the hot weather. Warm is fine, but this is ridiculous. And the giant, flying roaches. And all the allergens - Austin and San Antonio pretty much take turns having the worst pollen counts in the nation, and having a nose the size of mine just makes it worse.
  5. It's what I would expect from them - most reporters lean left, know the power of the "R" word, and willingly prostrate themselves to the narrative.
  6. And it's been that way for many years, I'm afraid. With all the bitching and moaning over NAFTA, I'm surprised we're not hearing anything similar regarding GATT. Then again, like you said - lack of historical knowledge.....
  7. Sweating bullets? At this point, she's probably convinced that she's pure Teflon.
  8. Absolutely right. Gingrich and Dole played a big role in it's passage, while Daschle, Gephardt, Bonior, and a host of the congressional dems opposed it. Clinton's support of NAFTA was likely influenced by his former advisor Dick Morris.
  9. Not only that, but she could probably make it look as if he pulled the trigger himself without the gun flying from his hand, and leave a torn-up suicide note at the scene, because everyone always tears up their suicide notes before they shoot themselves.
  10. I believe you guys are looking at this particular election as if it were a normal one. It's not. Forget about Trump's policy positions (or lack thereof) and the standard electoral procedures we're all accustomed to seeing. Trump eviscerated most of his republican rivals (several of whom I would have vastly preferred gain the nomination), and he trounced the rest. It's not because he has better positions on the issues, it's not because he's more skillful at politics - hell, it's not like he even knows what he's talking about half the time. Trump's where he is because he defies convention and ignores custom. Look at what he's done so far this week - he's stolen the headlines from the democrats during the first three days of their convention, a time when the opposition is traditionally quiet and lets the other party carry on with their nomination process. With a handful of sarcastic remarks, he completely eclipsed both Bill Clinton's and Obama's speeches - and despite the fact that I like neither of them, I credit both as being charismatic and effective speakers. The political heavy-hitters haven't been able to stop him yet, and I'm not sure they're going to be able to. He has a following of Republicans who feel as if they've been ignored (whether true or not) by "the establishment", a fair amount of blue dog and union Democrats, and an ever-growing group of people who've never voted before and don't identify with any party. He's tapped into the anger and frustration felt by millions of people, and he has them really believing that he can fix things for them. Nearly every single person here who leans to the right, is a Libertarian, a Republican, or a concerned independent believes that Trump is not the best person for the job (and I realize that I'm understating that wildly in some cases), but I believe our biases and our familiarity with conventional politics tends to blind us to the reasons why Trump has managed to get to this point, and I suspect that we may be selling him short with regard to his ability to actually win the election. If anyone here feels the way that I do about the possibility of his winning, then they're likely nervous as hell at the prospect of president Trump, but given the choice between him and Hillary, they may actually find themselves pulling the lever for him, while crossing their fingers and saying a silent prayer.
  11. The only reason I do not openly disagree with you is that I was so wrong in my predictions about how the last two elections turned out that I have no more faith in my electoral perception, and even less faith in the American voter.
  12. Okay, I get it now. Wide right = Giants. Got it. I remember when he was trolling Tom about the Pentagon & 911. That was inferior trolling as well. Like I said earlier, what is it with kids today? (cue Paul Lynde.......)
  13. Why is it that trolls seem to universally be some of the most unimaginative people online nowadays? Where are the Hogboys of today? Say what you will about him, but Hogboy practically wrote the book on internet trolling. His Combo alter-ego had everyone, myself included, completely wound up. Kids today. They just don't get it. I wasn't around to experience the one you refer to as "the Giants troll". I quit posting here for a decade or so, only stopping by to lurk every couple of years or so, so I missed that one.
  14. If you're going to troll here, at least try to raise your game a bit, will you?
  15. By all means, let the entertainment continue.
  16. You tell'em - I mean who in hell wants to see a bunch of political debate in a politics forum?
  17. My vote goes to O.J. - he's already an accomplished criminal.
  18. She should know all about using race to get what you want. She took Bob Dornan's seat by dropping her married name of Loretta Brixey and using her latina maiden name Sanchez, while simultaneously switching from the republican party to the dems in order to gain her district's latino vote. She's played the race game for years.
  19. Was that after "All Right Now" ?
  20. It's good to see that interest in The Great Old One hasn't waned. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/185695-my-vote-goes-to/
  21. What a horrifying thought. Still better than Hillary, though. At least we'll have a few laughs before armageddon.
  22. Your mother. There - is that succinct enough?
