  1. Exactly my thought; if it is PCI, return it; it's junk. Then buy a new AGP card. http://www.newegg.com CW
  2. Your two choices are basically DirecTV or Dish. DirecTV has better hardware, better quality, better customer service. Dish is cheaper (by around $10/month I think). Both are good solutions. CW
  3. What city do you live in that doesn't have locals? Almost all cities have locals nowadays. Just curious. CW
  4. As long as your dish was properly aligned during installation, you'll be fine. I live in Minnesota (the land of wind and cold, with some snow), and have never had an outage for anything other than a MAJOR electrical storm, and even then I only lose signal for 5-10 minutes (3-4 times total over the past 7 years). Just think, if it DID go out with every storm, nobody would use the service. The fact that they've been around for at least 10 years means that it must work well Wouldn't worry about it. CW
  5. Shouldn't you have asked these questions before buying it? I like PalmOS better; I would've done what LA suggested and bought the Treo 650. Phone/PDA in one and it works REALLY slick (coworker of mine has the Treo600). Not a big fan of PocketPC OS at all. Crashes frequently. PalmOS has been around a lot longer, has a lot more free and useful software available for it (real geeks don't like MS so develop for Palm), etc. That's my opinion. CW
  6. Hmmm, nobody here wants to make one of these for me? Please...? CW
  7. I'm in Minnesota, and we have about 2-3"... And apparantly traffic sucks. My wife's stuck on the highway and has spent about an hour to go a few miles. *sigh* Stupid Minnesotans. On the bright side, we're going to see the Minnesota Swarm play the Buffalo Bandits (assuming the game isn't cancelled or something). Should be fun, if we get there before it starts CW
  8. Oh, so you're part of the "families pulling in more than $100,000 are rich" crowd? Hardly... CW
  9. http://www.bugmenot.com/ Try this one: User: webreg@isuseless.edu Pass: nopassword CW
  10. http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/s...10701595.htm?1c The amusing parts: "We've given them everything they wanted." Then later, he says "The owners want a salary cap, and we don't." Umm, then how did you give the owners everything they wanted? Oh well, it wasn't unexpected. CW
  11. The school made no secret that the honors program required summer work. And there's a LOT of people who have to do work when they're "home." I'm on call 24x7. If something breaks, I have to fix it regardless of whether it's at 11am or 3am. Should I sue my company because of that/ No, I knew what the job entailed. Kids are getting more and more lazy as time goes on. CW
  12. Reminds me of a funny scene from Firefly: BOOK: If you take sexual advantage of her, you're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater. http://www.fireflywiki.org/Firefly/OurMrsReynolds CW
  13. Sorry, but Bob Costas was wrong. The AFC Championship game was played on January 20th. The Superbowl was played on January 27th. The following year, the AFC/NFC Championship was on January 12th, and the Superbowl was on January 26th. The next year, AFC Championship on 1/17, Superbowl on 1/31 Our last Superbowl year, Championship game on 1/23, Superbowl on 1/30. This information is on pp1781-1783 of the best football book ever, "Total Football II" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0062701746/qid=1106270664/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/002-8393042-2364805?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) This book has EVERY player who has EVER played in the NFL, the score of every game, leading receivers, rushers, interceptors, etc, even if they only had 1 carry. It's awesome. Unfortunately, it only goes through Superbowl XXXIII (Denver 34, Atlanta 19). Oh well, it's still worth it. CW
  14. THere's no way Bledsoe is going to retire. He's only 32! This speculation is very amusing. CW
  15. You'll forgive me if I don't trust a MS product to fix the problems that MS introduced. CW
  16. The AFC Championshiup game was January 20th, 4 days after. I remember the announcers saying that there wasn't an extra week between teh Championship game and the Superbowl, and that would benefit the 49ers if they beat the Giants in the NFC. I'm not sure if the field was stormed after that game, but there were clearly 50-60 police officers on the field before the game was over, so I would assume nobody made it down there. Then again, maybe they were all Bills fans and let the crowd down anyway. Rubes, do you have any of that after-game footage? CW
  17. All I know is that I just watched the game two nights ago, and there were frequent interupts because of the war in the Gulf, and that they said there was extra security (and showed them marching out) to avoid us tearing down the goal posts. CW
  18. No. They had heavy security at that game (Gulf War just started). Plus, it was the last game at Rich before the carpet was going to be replaced. Thanks to Rubes, you can get the DVD and watch the game again. Check out my sig. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=16425&st=0 CW
  19. Nevermind then, I better go take it off the site CW
  20. Well we can tell that SOMEONE didn't read my presentation CW
  21. D'oh, I'm an idiot. Better remember to fix that, thanks! CW
  22. It was cool to see the fireball explosion with that symbol on the top. And the symbol showed up at the church as well. CW
  23. This might be a good time to point you to my PC Home Security presentation. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=7560 If you're running Win2k or WinXP, you should set yourself up as the administrator and give your son's account regular user access so he can't install stuff without your permission.
