Bills fan experiences at away games
Fezmid replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been to a couple of Vikings games. Overall, they were ok although there were a few jerks above us trying to antagonize our group (we had 100-150 people in one section, all wearing Bills colors). I've also been to a Bills/Packers game and it was a great experience. Tailgating was fun before the game, and lots of people came over to talk to me (civilly) about the Bills. Some threw good-hearted jabs ("What are you wearing THAT for???"). Once in Lambeau, I had the good fortune to actually sit next to another Bills fan (what are the chances of THAT happening?!). We were pretty rowdy for the first few minutes and the fans around us were very good natured. We lost the game 10-0 (in '02 if I recall). Throughout the whole game, the fans were asking me a lot of questions about the Bills, the players, the city, etc. It was a great time. No complaints. CW -
The hijacked thread is over at PPP: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=26174 Do NOT allow this thread to become a politics thing. Talk about what's going on in London is great. Words from people IN London is great (especially ones saying everyone's healthy). Debates about why this is going on are NOT ok. Keep it on topic. CW (yes, I'm grumpy today. Deal.)

Take your arguing to a separate thread or through PMs. This isn't the place. CW

Now Lawmakers are listening to 11 YO's
Fezmid replied to taterhill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see where you're going with it, and I realize why the politician is bringing this up, but the kid still isn't a constituent like the article says he is. CW -

Fezmid replied to taterhill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you really a constituent if you can't vote? From the dictionary: constituent: one who authorizes another to act as agent If you can't vote, you can't authorize another to act as an agent, and therefore this kid isn't a constituent. So stop considering the stupid law. CW -
How about: SU ROOT (sorry, a coworker said he saw that plate a few months ago. Geek humor ). CW

So you don't actually make the moves in the software yourself and then submit everything to a commishioner? CW

What software are you using? Something like this was discused in this thread (but never really went far): http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=25547 CW

I just read about that yesterday (the guy who made Greg The Bunny does some of the voices for Robot Chicken, so I decided to TiVo it). It's not on again until the 7th though, so I'll have to wait... CW

The difference is, you don't have a contract (or more precisely, you have a contract that says the employer can let you go at any time and you can leave at any time). If you had a "real" contract, your employer couldn't fire you whenever they wanted to. CW
-
On the surface I agree -- but on the other hand, the owners can cut you at any time and the contract becomes null and void... So it's definately a one-way street in that regard. CW
-
If a player is under contract and holds out, they forfeit their salary and get fined as well. Of course, these "fines" are usually waived once the player reports/signs a new contract. CW

Yeah, drive-ins are pretty cool; it's sad that there aren't many left in the country If you're in Minnesota, here's the theater: http://www.drive-ins.com/detail/mntvali It's right off of I-94 in Lake Elmo (just east of Woodbury). You can even bing a Weber grill and tailgate before the movies which is pretty cool. CW

One other thing from WotW that made no sense: MINOR SPOILER ALERT ... ... When the aliens are shooting down the EMP pulses, shutting down all the electronics in the city... First, Tom Cruise's wristwatch stopped working (it didn't look electronic to me). Second, every single car in the city stopped (trying to tell me there were no cars from the 80s in the city?). And third (and most blatant), some guy was using his video camera to record the Striders (aka: tripods)! How the hell was his camcorder working?!?! Oh well... CW

With Buffalo Seemingly Desperate for a LT
Fezmid replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not correct; some fans assumed he'd switch to LT, but I don't think that the Bills ever said anything. And assume for a minute that MW did switch over to LT; then we'd have a huge hole to fill at RT. CW -
He grabbed girl's arm -- now he's a sex offender
Fezmid replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, and even the JUDGE says that it wasn't a sexual crime, but that his hands are tied because of the law (supposedly). CW -

Not really - I'm working, probably today and tomorrow, and no extra pay... CW -

You're the only one with the opinion that you should be able to kneecap the guy, but we're the blockheads?! CW -

On the bright side, that's the point where you get arrested and never see your child again (except on visitation days). So I guess things really do even themselves out. The guy's 28, that's not "an old man." CW -
My wife and I went to the drive-in last night to see War of the Worlds and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I'd agree with your assessment of the movie. I didn't care about Cruise's character or the kids. And frankly, if they would've died in the first 10 minutes, the movie would've ended exactly the same way. The character had no impact on the plot at all (except for the plot of getting the kid home) The special effects were cool, but the movie was dull. We also saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith at the drive-in. I was looking forward to it, as the previews looked funny. Unfortunately, the movie was pretty lame too. We didn't stay for Amnityville Horror -- we wouldn't have gotten home until around 4:30am if we had. "V" and (to a lesser extent), "V:The Final Battle" blow Independence Day out of the water. CW

The best part is the judge's quote: That's great, you can't read his mind, so he's guilty. CW -
My girlfriend and I have two new friends......
Fezmid replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been to the Metrodome and Lambeau to watch the Bills play the Vikes and Packers respectively, and was fully decked out in Bills gear. Packers fans were actually REALLY nice during the entire game. I think they viewed me as an oddity ("An oppsing fan? In OUR stadium? How quaint..."). The Vikings fans are pretty much jerks. CW
