  1. Good luck! Hopefully it's a position with Walkers so I can get some crisps CW
  2. Who cares how big they are, the real question is what are you going to DO with them? CW
  3. The grass is always greener.... That's why I'm hesitant to leave my current position. Despite the flaws, at least I know the flaws and can work around them... That said, how was the job market when you were looking? Could always look again... You probably don't want to sit and stew about it though. Either talk to someone or start looking again. That's my opinion anyway. CW
  4. This movie will be filmed in Buffalo. http://www.poultrygeistmovie.com/ CW
  5. Ahh. In the US (or maybe just in my neck of the world), whenever you talk about contacting the next of kin, you're alerady dead. Otherwise, you're just trying to find a family member. Similar to the word casualties meaning "dead" being different between the countries. CW
  6. If they're finding my next of kin, then aren't I already dead? CW
  7. It says "incorrect password, please try again." Guess I can't do it. CW
  8. I agree with you on job security. I know I have it where I am now, but I also know that if I do something stupid, I can be replaced (not easily, but replaced nonetheless). What I do isn't rocket science. I'll be talking to my manager probably tomorrow and work something out. Ideally I'd like a week off, but we'll see what happens. Regardless, I need to write my resume; it's about half done now, but it doesn't hurt to see what jobs are out there, especially since the market is gettnig a bit better. CW
  9. Yup, it's a need. We have a very big product that makes millions in the mergers and aquisition field. Apparantly 95% of it is still done on paper, but our company has a way to do it all online and it's starting to catch on. We're pretty much the only players in the field right now, so staying on top of the game is very important for market share (and mucho $$$). I'm going home now... CW
  10. Yeah, my manager's manager has said they owe me some serious comp time. I'm thinking close to a week... (I've worked 57 hours, 62 hours, and now 72 hours the last 3 weeks. EEK!). We'll see though; the problem is that the other sysadmin quit, so it's me and a new guy, with another new guy starting next Monday (18th). Basically, I'm doing the work of three people. And it sucks... Maybe it's time to look for a new job... CW
  11. I had two bottles of Dew, and a bottle of Frapaccino (or whatever that Starbucks cold coffee drink is; I don't even like coffee, but I wanted the caffeine). CW
  12. Ok, I think we're good now. Whew... 15.5 hours later, and I can start planning on leaving within the hour CW
  13. I'm a UNIX admin; working nights and weekends is part of the job... Although this downtime was supposed to be done at 2am... We're going a bit over the window (we're about 90% up right now...). Anyone know Samba? CW
  14. That'd be great, if I weren't salary... No extra money for me. *sigh* 1.5 hours more, and I hit 70 for the week! Yeehaw. CW
  15. Nothing like working from 4pm Sat to 4am (and later) Sun morning... At least I'm (hopefully) going to get to go home in the next half hour *crosses fingers*. CW
  16. I agree, and I think that sounds fair for both sides. If they get a 1200 yard back, a 2nd rounder is a steal for them. 1000 yards just seems a bit too low nowadays. CW
  17. I thought this was an interesting article. Good to see that most people are condemning the attacks (especially the Arab world). http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/07/08...lims/index.html CW
  18. I'll be there with my wife and inlaws (all Packers fans except for me). Not sure what we're doing beforehand though; they're not usually the tailgating type, so we'll see. Aussie is going to be there as well. Where is WI are you? I'm in Hudson (suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota), but my wife's originally from Green Bay. CW
  19. Just watched a couple of episodes -- VERY funny! Even my wife laughed during it. CW
  20. I think that might've been when we played the Jags in Rich... If so, I was at that game, and he was benched for AVP later in the game (AVP sucked just as badly...) CW
  21. No, not really. It's a movie about dragons who have taken over London... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0253556/ In present-day London, twelve-year-old Quinn watches as his mother, a construction engineer, inadvertently wakes an enormous fire-breathing beast from its century-long slumber. Twenty years later, much of the world has been scarred by the beast and its offspring. As a fire chief, Quinn (Christian Bales) is responsable for warding off the beasts and keeping a community alive as they eke out a meager existence. Into their midst come a hotshot American, Van Zan (Matthew McConaughey), who says he has a way to kill the beasts and save mankind - a way Quinn's never seen done. Directed by Rob Bowman ("The X-Files"), "Reign Of Fire" fuses a medieval past with a post-apocalyptic future in this exciting tale of adventure and survival. CW
  22. Glad to hear things are getting back to normal, Nick. Stay safe and aware! CW
  23. Is it just me, or is ABC being a bit too sensitive about the London bombings tonight? The movie, "Reign of Fire" was supposed to be on tonight, but because it takes place in "post-apocalyptic London," they pulled it and put "Big Fat Liar" on instead. I feel bad for everyone in the London area, but to not air a movie because of it is a bit ridiculous IMHO. Then again, I didn't think that they should've re-done the opening to Spiderman, just because he spun a web in between the WTC. EDIT: Not that I was planning on watching it anyway, just happened to notice it wasn't on when I turned on the TV. CW
  24. Does he realize he's using a soccer ball, not a basketball? I guess he scored low on the Wonderlic, huh? CW
