I was about halfway done with the Bills/Browns game, and then my harddrive crashed while migrating to a new system. The upshot is that my new system will run faster, I just need the time to start it again. Place a vote for whatever game you want to see from this year, and I may change my mind from the Browns game. Actually, it DOES change the basic point -- I posted the following: And your rebuttle was the stats from every game played against winning teams and teams that made the playoffs. That has absolutely nothing to do with the comment you were responding to, and made it look like the stats you quoted were from games with WM in there. The points explosion came when WM was put in. Don't cloud what I was saying. And my "crusade" as you put it, is simply that we CAN be MUCH worse with JPL in there, despite what 99% of people here are saying. Whether you think the move was right or wrong, we can go much lower than the 9-7 we were last year (and we were 9-7). I hope that doesn't happen, but you just can't tell. CW

Exactly -- we played well in those games, but some people dismiss them because "the Rams and Seahawks aren't that good... Even though they made the playoffs." So if you take out the games where we played well (and we DID win 9 games last year...), and look at only the 7 games we lost, we really suck! That's the argument that's made here all the time. CW

Maybe SM was TOLD to say these things to generate good PR. Positive publicity sells tickets and drums up more support for the team. It isn't unheard of for management in any company to put a positive image towards the public, regardless of what warts are hiding underneat. No kidding. I realized how close the season is when I got my Bills/Packers scrimmage tickets the other day. People in Green Bay are paying $45-$50/ticket from scalpers to see the SCRIMMAGE. Face value of the tickets is $8. I'm half tempted to sell 'em (I have 8; my inlaws are big Packers fans in Green Bay), but I know I'll go. CW

That's not evidence of anything -- every year, players on every team are saying things like, "We've got our best shot ever to win this thing," and "With the talent we have here, there's no telling what we can do." Everyone says that they're going to win the Superbowl in the offseason. It's just as cliche as every coach saying, "We just need to execute better." Same stuff, different season. CW

Ummm, you do realize that we were 9-7 last year, right? And that we've only had one sub-.500 season in the last three years...? It honestly seems like some people think we've gone 1-15 the past three years... What leadership has JPL shown? That he watches film??? That's hardly leadership... Oh, here we go again... YES, JPL can EASILY lead us to worse than a 9-7 record. And remember that once WM started at RB, DB was sacked on average LESS than golden-boy Brady. Coincidence? I'm not saying JPL is going to suck, but to blindly assume he's going to be just as good, or better, is just as naive as saying that DB would've taken us to the Superbowl. You have no way of knowing.
