  1. My wife and I booked a cruise to go to Hawaii next year (May 7th-May21st). Just wondering if anyone else has done a 14-day cruise across the Pacific and what your impressions were. Last year (June '04) we took a 7-day cruise from Vancouver to Alaska and then back down to Seattle. That was an awesome experience and I'd recommend it to anyone. I'm not so sure I'm going to enjoy spending 8 days at sea though. I guess I'll get a lot of reading/writing done... Anyway, just curious if anyone else has tried something similar and if they want to share experiences. CW
  2. Shouldn't this be listed as a spoiler....? ie: title changed to something like, "LOST Spoiler for next season." CW
  3. So you'd rather one of the cops go into the car and hope that the woman doesn't have a knife (or some other small weapon) to stab them with as opposed to using a non-lethal, non-damaging weapon? CW
  4. So what should the cop have done? Sat there all day asking her nicely to leave the car? CW
  5. Yeah, I knew that (the Vorta). Took me a long time to not see him as the evil bastard from DS9. I don't remember seeing Dukat elsewhere, but maybe the lack of makeup threw me. CW
  6. Give me a break: http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/06/06/milk.terror/index.html Instead of fixing the problem, we'll hide it. That's call "security through obscurity" and anyone in IT knows that doesn't give you any security at all. This is no different than the argument about whether to publish information about how to break computer systems or whether companies should be notified privately. When the latter happens, fixes usually take months. When the former happens, they get fixed in days. The best part is how the government apparantly thinks that terrorists don't know how to do their own research to figure this out themselves... All in the name of security. *sigh* CW
  7. Yup, that's the blue alien I was talking about CW
  8. Just watched the season opener -- very well done. The woman who plays Tes in this episode is also the same woman who plays River Tam on Firefly/Serenity ( http://www.serenitymovie.com and http://www.cantstopthesignal.com). It's good to see some good actors getting airtime. Also, the guy at the end of the episode was played by the blue alien on "Enterprise." Very nicely done. Maya isn't anywhere near as creepy as she was in the first season... Hopefully that'll come back. Her having a crush on Frank Sinatra was pretty funny though. CW

  10. How insulting! Velveeta isn't even close to cheese! The Milwaukee Brewing Company would fit much better. CW
  11. See, there was a link to an article that talked about a softball game that Brett Favre was hosting. The Timber Rattlers play there. They used to be the Foxes. CW
  12. The Timber Rattlers used to be the Appleton Foxes back in the mid-90s. A-Rod used to play for them and I was able to watch him play a couple of games there when Mariner fans were drooling about how good he was supposed to be (I was on a Mariner mailing list at the time). I went to the games and he absolutely sucked. In two games, he had 1 hit, a handful of strikeouts, and a bunch of regular outs. He didn't do anything outstanding in the field either... I did get a couple of autographed posters though. When I got back, I posted that to the mailing list about how bad he was and that maybe people had their hopes up too high. Two weeks later he was called up to Seattle, and we all know the story from there. I guess I'm a crappy baseball scout. CW
  13. People still go to computer shows...? You can get bigger/better/faster/cheaper new stuff rather than the old outdated stuff they sell there... Unless it's not the same type of computer show that I'm thinking of? CW
  14. I'm sure this thread will go well http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/06/06/scotus.m...a.ap/index.html CW
  15. I didn't realize anything still went on at that base... CW
  16. I guess that makes sense. I guess I assumed that bullets from one assault rifle would work in any assault rifle. Can you tell I don't know much about weaponry? Thanks all. CW
  17. I'm sure there's a good reason, so hopefully someone here can explain. I just don't understand why, when we find a large cache of weapons and ammo in Iraq (or wherever), instead of USING them, we just blow 'em up. Couldn't we use those bullets and grenades and such so that we don't have to pay for our own? It's not like these people are hand-making their own bullets as far as I know. I just don't get it, but there has to be a good reason. Anyone? CW
  18. Just give me your paypal account and password and I'll figure it out myself CW
  19. Are you calling me the TSW bully? Give me your milk money!!! CW
  20. Actually 2004, but who's counting? CW
  21. So, did anyone from here buy any tickets? It sold out in three hours (glad I got my seats...): http://www.packers.com/news/releases/2005/06/04/1/ I'm going to try recording it to DVD while in Green Bay for those who are interested. Please don't PM me until I make an announcement that it's available. CW
  22. I watched it last year and it is pretty interesting. It's on USA, so the budget is pretty low and it shows sometimes. I saw a comment in TV guide along the lines of, "It's an A+ show wrapped in a B-movie outfit." (or something like that). I didn't watch the episode last night, but I recorded it. http://www.the4400.com BTW, the little girl is downright creepy. CW
  23. It'll be interesting to see what happens to this country in the next few years, since EVERYTHING is being outsourced. Everyone know that McDonalds is currently outsourcing the drive-through order taking position? In the next year or two, there won't be a kid in McDonald's taking your order in the drive-thru, it'll be in a call center. How long before that call center is outsourced to another country? Time to get a job in the service industry; can't outsource something where you physically need to be somewhere. CW
  24. Not that this is the nicest thing to say, but I often wonder what would happen if India and/or Pakistan launched a nuclear warhead at the other one... How quickly would companies pull out? CW
