(OT)100 Greatest Guitar Players...
Fezmid replied to Zamboni Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
John Petrucci didn't even make the list, even though everywhere I go people are saying he's one of the best guitar players out there. CW -

Adorable, except that one kid with a Steelers shirt... Godfather's not doing his job there... http://www.buffalobillsproshop.com/main_de...t%20%284%2D7%29 CW

I contemplated pointing out that, in essence, you are discussing the very thing you said you didn't have time to discuss, but then I thought better of it. CW

Really? Is there a recap about that somewhere? I'm not sure if I'd laugh or cry, but I'd like to see it (or at least read about it). CW

What, now you can't read so you didn't know my post had anything to do with comparing soccer to hockey? Perhaps you should aquaint yourself with the "OT" that's listed in the topic of this thread, then figure out why I think you're an idiot. CW
-
You quoted my post WHICH WAS COMPARING SOCCER TO HOCKEY. Warning - ID-10T error. Right, because nobody can kick a fieldgoal from the 40 yard line. Yeah, that's got to be it. Except I was talking about HOCKEY being higher scoring, not football. Here, let me quote what I said again for your reading pleasure: What a maroon. CW
-
Pretty ignorant post that shows you have no idea how the sport of hockey is played. Here's a hint: You don't score by crossing the blue line in hockey. A proper analogy would be if 98% of football plays were run between the two 40 yard lines. Look in the mirror before calling someone's post "ignorant." CW

Fox is run by a bunch of buffoons. They cancelled Family Guy, only to have it be WIDLY successful in DVD sales and fan interest so they bring it back later. They cancel Firefly (after showing the Pilot episode last ), only to have it be the #1 selling DVD on Amazon for several weeks and to completely sell out the 1,000,000 (yes, 1 million) production run in a matter of DAYS and to then have Universal buy the rights to make a movie (http://www.serenitymovie.com and http://www.cantstopthesignal.com) that, if it does well, will expand into a trilogy. (FWIW, Family Guy is "only" ranked #200 at Amazon right now). They cancel Wonderfalls, a highly original and quirky show, after FOUR episodes. They cancel Tru Calling after the first season, change their mind and renew it for a second season, cancel filming during the summer after only six episodes, decide to show them in January, then decide to not show the "season finale" episode... Huh? I'm not really sure what Fox's target demographic is, other than "stupid americans who love American Idol and Simple Life and Americas Craziest Police Chases." I wish they'd just not touch the real shows and let some other network buy the rights so they'd at least stand a chance. BTW - Firefly is still the #43 highest selling DVD at Amazon.com, and it's been out for years. If you havn't seen it, you should; even though there's only ~15 episodes, they're all awesome. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...&s=dvd&n=507846 CW

According to your link, the smoke point of peanut oil is 450F. That's when the oil starts to break down and you don't want to hit that. Maybe it won't combust at 450F, but it's still safer to stay well below that. Also from the site: So staying a bit below 400F sounds like a good thing to do IMHO. CW
-
Umm, everyone I've talked to and everything I've read has said that oil can ignite at 400F so do NOT let the oil get that high... CW

What's the best remake you've ever heard/seen
Fezmid replied to Fake-Fat Sunny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Song remake: Ayreon's remake of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" (on the Star One album). Much better than the (already good) original. http://www.ayreon.com CW -
Well, we made 'em (and some french fries). The chicken, while good, wasn't WING good... We got the oil up to ~375, then put the wings in -- it dropped down to around 250F. We think the mistake was not turning the heat up to get the temperature back up fast enough. We learned for next time. CW
-
We have an indoor fryer but the wings, while good, are never great. After tasting Rich's (and the CNJBBB) wings at the tailgate opener last year, he has convinced us to buy an outdoor fryer and have just assembled this guy: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...garden&n=507846 (although ours has a wing pot as well: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...arden&n=284507) Purchased it before Xmas last year for only $30 (total). Anyway, as long as the weather holds out, we're going to use it for the first time today and see how it turns out. I'm slightly worried about blowing myself up (fire and oil don't mix...), but overall it doesn't look too unsafe I guess as long as common sense is maintained. Figured this could serve as the basis for another "how do you make your wings" thread, since it's been several months since we've had one. CW

Go for it! I'd love to see 'em. CW

Buffalo's TE for the Admirals apparantly is a long snapper as well and used to be in the Jaguars camp. He just dropped a pass though... To be fair, he was hit after he touched it. CW

*cough* DirecTV *cough* You just missed a blocked kcik by the Sea Devils. CW

Sea Devils and Admirals are playing on NFL Network (started at 2pm CST) if anyone's interested. Mike Gomez, Bills TE, is a starter for the Amsterdam Admirals. CW

Not necessarily... Plenty of top-ranked actors (read: actors on very popular shows) make more than professional atheltes. They can also act longer than athletes can compete. CW

Ah, you're right. It's not illegal to ask, but is illegal to make any hiring decision based on it: http://jobsearchtech.about.com/od/interview/l/aa022403.htm However, it appears to be risky to ask: CW
