I've never understood people like you. "I'm right, and if you don't believe me, look it up." WTF happened to proving things yourself? Thanks for the link, Clockwork; I'll have to read that later (too deep for a Sunday morning ). CW

I don't know, he took a nasty shot yesterday and got right back up from it. I think the "Undersized" things may be a bit premature (allthough I wasn't crazy about the pick myself... And his punt returns make me cringe). He broke his wrist in camp, but that's hardly a "small person" injury. CW

O-Line Not as Important as Skill Positions
Fezmid replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know, if we had those three, I think we'd probably win even with our OL. Sanders never had an OL and he did great. Rice was great at catching the short passes and making big plays, and Montana was great at getting him the ball. In this case, I think we'd be ok. As for the original question, I'll take Indy's OL. Our RB is arguably as good as James if he has holes. Our WRs are still very good. And either KH or JPL would be servicable if they had a dominant running game and weren't worried about being crushed every other play. CW -
For the VERY few who do not want a HC change

I was -- but if you don't count our "easy" wins last year, how can you count the games we lost this year as losses? Nobody here counts a single win from our 9-win season as a "real" win for some reason, and I can't for the life of me figure that out. CW -

Riiiiiight, I've made nearly 10,000 posts, and they all have to do with Bledsoe. Maybe you are twice my age, and you're going senile. If you had any reading comprehension, you would'v realized that my point was you can't keep changing major peices of puzzle every single season and expect to win. But no, you're a freak'n idiot who likes making homosexual comments. My guess is repressed feelings, get help. CW -

Unfortunately, that's the same thing people said about Phillips as well. CW -

So our loss to the Saints doesn't count this year because the NFC sucks and the Saints are bad? -
Just noticed it and wondered if it was a veiled shot at our GM.

Et tu? Jets - 10-6 Seahawks - 9-7 Rams - 8-8 Bengals - 8-8 Sorry, as I said I don't buy the "We caught them at a good time." We've caught teams this year (Atlanta?) at "good times" due to injuries and such, and still lost. It's typical TSW fashion -- "We looked terrible all season because the games we won don't count because they were pushovers!!!" Winning on the road, on the west coast, is never easy, especially against playoff teams. CW -
Most Gut-wrenching stat of the year
Fezmid replied to bartshan-83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was one of those stats that I didn't believe (like the, "We passed the ball 3,743 consecutive times on 3rd and less than 3.") So I went over the play-by-plays and it appears to be mostly correct..... (see below) Here's the breakdown: Hou: 0/0 TB: 2/2 Atl: 0/0 NO: 1/1 Mia: 0/0 NYJ: 1/1 Oak: 1/1 NE: 0/0 KC: 3/3 (!) SD: 1/1 Car: 1/1 Mia: 3/4 ** NE: 2/2 Den: 1/3 (woohoo!) Total: 15/17 (assuming Miami is really 3/3, see below) So it's not like it happens all the time. However, you'd hope that they could've stopped them at least once or twice before tonight ** In the Miami game, there was a 3rd and 1 play that was called back by penalty. Technically, they didn't convert it. CW -

I still think we should give him another year, the 9-7 season earned that. If we tank again next year, fine, but I think we'll be worse off if we go out and hire yet another coach. Time will tell. CW -
This isn't a large package with a lot of stamps on it though. It's a Priority Mail envelope with a Priority Mail stamp on it. That's it. And fine, inspect the package -- xray it, whatever. Why do I have to hand it over? They won't inspect it at the post office, because it's a sealed priority mail envelope, and the only way to physically inspect it is to open the package, ruining the envelope and my stamp (which they say I'll be able to use at the post office). I've mailed these in the past (weeks ago), and there was never a problem either. It's ridiculous. CW

MM has a pretty small sample size to be drawing from. 9-7 last year shows that he has at least some ability, no? (sorry, don't buy the people saying "we caught so-and-so at a good time so that win doesn't count." All wins in the NFL count). Let's look at Dick Vermeil, since he's a pretty good coach: First two years in Philly: 1976 phi | 4 10 0 | 0 0 | 1977 phi | 5 9 0 | 0 0 | Look at the following four years: 1978 phi | 9 7 0 | 0 1 | 1979 phi | 11 5 0 | 1 1 | 1980 phi | 12 4 0 | 2 1 | 1981 phi | 10 6 0 | 0 1 | First two years at St. Louis: 1997 ram | 5 11 0 | 0 0 | 1998 ram | 4 12 0 | 0 0 | look at the next year: 1999 ram | 13 3 0 | 3 0 | Superbowl victory First two years in KC: 2001 kan | 6 10 0 | 0 0 | 2002 kan | 8 8 0 | 0 0 | And the following year: 2003 kan | 13 3 0 | 0 1 | But here in Buffalo, we have an extremely short patience. For example, Wade Phillips: 1998 buf | 10 6 0 | 0 1 | 1999 buf | 11 5 0 | 0 1 | 2000 buf | 8 8 0 | 0 0 | Two good seasons, followed by an average season, and he's FIRED! So basically we're looking for a coach/qb/rb/<insert player here> that performs at an HOF level each and every year. If you slip, you're fired. That's a great way to spin your wheels forever. -

We DID see progress - we went 9-7 last year - and everyone said "WE SUCK, CUT DREW!" so they fired our starting QB Not "open it up to competition in training camp," but outright FIRE him. Guess what happens when you change coaches/quarterbacks every year or two? The Buffalo Bills are what happens. -

Maybe that's part of Buffalo's plan? They prove to themselves that they can win (1st half), then lay down in the 2nd half to improve the draft position? -

Fezmid replied to KOKBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were 9-7 last year. Did MM just forget how to coach...? Don't think so. And before people scream, "We played bad teams," that's not entirely true. We beat the Rams and Seahawks (playoff teams), as well as the Bengals (8-8) and Jets (10-6). You can't keep firing coaches every 2-3 years, that's ridiculous. CW -
What is this country coming to??? I put some Bills DVDs in the mail a few days ago for a fellow TSW member. Eight DVDs (4 slim-line cases) in a Priority Mail envelope - the kind where you can mail as much as you want in the package. Well, today I get it returned back to me with two stickers. One says, "Surface Transportation Only" with a picture of a plane with a big red circle/slash around it. The second sticker says the following: WTF? Terrible grammar aside, what "extra security" do they gain by making me go to the post office and handing it to a desk clerk? Nothing! They won't open it, scan it, or do anything other than (probably) weigh it and say, "Thanks." DUMB DUMB DUMB!!!! CW

Do people still run at 800x600? God, even 1024x768 just doesn't offer enough screen real estate for my liking... I'm at 1280x1024, and if I had better eyes would prefer to go 1600x1200. I should just settle for a second monitor CW
