  1. Hide and Seek on the street? Sounds like a pretty easy game if you're confined to the street. Street hockey and street football (tried some lacrosse, but that was really hard!)
  2. Yeah, but everyone says these crappy calls are supposed to even out... When are we getting paid back for the "Just Give it to 'em" game?
  3. Yeah, come back and talk to us in another 5-10 years of working 12 hours/day at a desk.
  4. Check out the consumer forums - there's several posts talking about it. I played it Friday at work and it was a blast. After boxing a couple of rounds, I could tell my heart rate was definately up. I think I want one now. CW
  5. Congrats, and Merry Xmas! PS: If you want to ship me all of your other gifts, let me know
  6. Yeah, screw you. Just kidding. Mostly. Congrats on the win. Better luck next year for us
  7. No, it was "The Love Shack" on Peachtree Pkwy. It was literally a couple of blocks away from my hotel. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searc...ate=ga&zipcode= Very strange to see that big sign a block away from an IHOP!
  8. Read the thread.
  9. When I went to Atlanta on a business trip (Norcrosse), there was a huge sex toy shop right by a strip mall (not that kind of strip mall... ). Kinda shocking, IMHO. CW
  10. Can you tell which are the pedophiles? http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c....u=spot_the_pedo I guessed 15 of 19 correctly (%78.9). My grade: B- CW
  11. There was a product called Keyhole, but that was bought by Google and turned into Google Earth... I'd be interested to see what else is out there but I find it hard to believe that Google isn't the leader
  12. Ummm... Google Earth http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2706554
  14. What are we talking about here? Was there a cheap shot taken in a game recently? I havn't heard anything, so a link would be nice. That said, I call BS on the "white athletes aren't treated as thugs" comment. Todd Bertuzzi, anyone? Lots of people were calling for him to be banned from the league! As it was, he missed the rest of the season plus the entire playoffs in one of the longest suspensions in league history. But yeah, white athletes aren't thought of as thugs.
  15. Well the law is obviously there to help prevent those sorts of things from happening, Lori. I still remember this case and it pisses me off as well. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,190586,00.html I bet Stojan thinks that this kid really does deserve to be a registered sex offender though. Here's the proof: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=26034 CW
  16. I think another big part is that a lot of people have left the WNY area. How many people on this board used to live in Buffalo but now live elsewhere?
  17. You've never been in Buffalo, and apparently have never been in the midwest either, because things aren't cheap here. Houses cost a LOT more here than in WNY (a house in the slums of Minneapolis costs over $100,000!). I just checked a "cost of living" calculator on CNNMoney and it returned this: http://cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/costoflivin...lo+NY&x=19&y=11 Salary in Green Bay WI: $100,000 Comparable salary in Buffalo NY: $104,132.84 If you move from Green Bay WI to Buffalo NY... Groceries will cost: 20.612% more Housing will cost: 5.286% less Utilities will cost: 36.196% more Transportation will cost: 4.881% more Healthcare will cost: 0.273% more This one says it's only 5% cheaper to live in Buffalo: http://www.bestplaces.net/col/?salary=1000...3080&city2=1280 This one says if you make $100,000 in GB, you'd need to make $118,000 in Buffalo! http://www.cityrating.com/costofliving.asp So your thinking that the midwest is so much cheaper than WNY is clearly off, sorry CW
  18. I don't know if I agree with most of those numbers on the Wikipedia (my in-laws live in Green Bay), but if you take them at face value, you need to look at the numbers that Buffalo provides as well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo%2C_ny Buffalo: The median income for a household in the city is $24,536, and the median income for a family is $30,614. Males have a median income of $30,938 versus $23,982 for females. The per capita income for the city is $14,991. 26.6% of the population and 23.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 38.4% of those under the age of 18 and 14.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line. Green Bay: The median income for a household in the city is $38,820, and the median income for a family is $48,678. Males have a median income of $33,246 versus $23,825 for females. The per capita income for the city is $19,269. 10.5% of the population and 7.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 12.7% of those under the age of 18 and 9.2% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line. So the median household income in GB is 50% higher than Buffalo. 26.6% of the population of Buffalo is below the poverty line (compared to 10.5% in GB) and 23% of families are below the poverty line in Buffalo (compared to 7.4% in GB). GB is doing MUCH better off than Buffalo is. CW
  19. So, did security let the sign in?
  20. I don't think it's illegal. Come on, Ticketmaster has been doing it for years. I love when my $15 hockey ticket costs me $30.
  21. You mean like what happened in '04? And to make matters worse, we even beat one of those 8-8 teams (Rams), along with a 9-7 team (Seahawks).
  22. Oh yeah, I'm not saying that Pitt had anything to play for or anything like that; but the "we were beat by scrubs!" isn't really entirely accurate. I just meant that because a game doesn't mean anything in the standings for a team doesn't mean they don't play tough.
  23. It's called "moving." (yes, with the quotes). Although I don't quite understand how Darin's getting local Buffalo channels, since most locals are broadcast with a spot beam - meaning the signal only covers a certain part of the country. http://www.dbsforums.com/vbulletin/showthr...ns+directv+spot http://www.dbsforums.com/vbulletin/attachm...72&d=1093577347 I can see how that'd work to get NYC or LA feeds, but I don't understand how you'd get Buffalo feeds this way. You've always been able to do this (well, for years anyway), but it's a LOT of money.- $40/week (although a post in this thread says it's on sale for only $20/week). CW
  24. Yeah, I really shouldn't have thrown away my old dish - I could've put it on a tripod or something and possibly been able to watch the game. Oh well Buffalo will just have to win to make the last game very important since I know I'll be able to watch that one
  25. That 3rd string argument is weak, and getting weaker every day. First, Pitt had their entire starting OL playing. Second, their backup running back was starting, but guess what? He's in the Pro Bowl this year, so obviously wasn't a scrub. To answer the original question - if we get blown out the next two games, that won't be good. If the games are close and hard-faught, then I'd be ok with it. I'm bummed that I won't get to watch the game this week since my inlawls don't have DirecTV
