  1. Yeah. I also didn't agree with his assessment of the Wild -- I think their logo is pretty cool -- nice "wilderness" backdrop with a "wild creature" mask over it.
  2. You live that lifestyle, you put your life in your own hands. We won't shed a tear for you.
  3. I was thinking the same thing. They may be jumping to conclusions.
  4. Probably a customer service post, but I want the forehead slapping smiley back ( : doh : now produces ). CW
  5. Guess what? I passed!!!!!!!!!!
  6. *ring ring* The year 2000 called, and they want their QB contraversy back.
  7. We've been hearing that since '99...
  8. Laugh all you want, but the Skins went to the playoffs last year, whereas we havn't gone since '99...
  9. Yes, you'll probably get refunded within 72 hours. But you potentially will have no money in that account for the whole 72 hours, meaning no ATM access and bounced pyaments to mortgage company, credit card company, gas/electric company, etc. That will negatively impact your credit rating. (not to mention the fact that you're leaving money on the table since lots of cards give you money back for using them). If you don't want the temptation of a huge limit, tell the credit card company to give you a low limit. Just because you have a $15,000 limit doens't mean they won't cut it down to $1,000 if you ask...
  10. Exactly. I actually cheered a little when I saw him get hurt on the legal block. I don't even do that for Dolphins players. The guy's a jerk, it was a legal block (unlike half of his plays), and he makes me sick. The announcers do too, as they said something like, "If you're a football fan, you're sorry to see players like Rodney Harrison get hurt because he's a great football player." Yeah, whatever.
  11. The "high yeild" savings account isn't really that high yieldy (check out http://www.ingdirect.com ), and the $125 annual fee is horrible. You can do much better. CW
  12. You have to get the inside scoop on this from her then Pooj! Oh, and pictures (maybe ones you'd find on a John Madden game? Couldn't resist ).
  13. Why wouldn't you get paid to borrow the bank's money, instead of risking your own with a debit card? (using a debit card is DANGEROUS because it links directly to your checking account - someone takes your debit card and cleans you out at the same time your mortage payment is trying to process, for example, and you'll get a ding on your credit history for insufficient funds in your bank and missing a mortgage payment). There's no reason to use a debit card, other than to help the bank out. http://clarkhoward.com/shownotes/category/7/40/225/ CW
  14. You actually don't build your credit like that --- having the line of credit open helps your rating, but using it does not (doesn't hurt either, but won't increase it any). http://www.myfico.com/CreditEducation/WhatsInYourScore.aspx EDIT: I thought you meant credit score, not limit. Regardless, the company won't lower your limit if you don't use it, so there's really no reason to use it, other than keeping for an emergency. CW
  15. No, you'd probably be annoyed because there was no Madden on the disk, and a porno isn't going to cost you $60 like the game did CW
  16. Sports photographers generally take a series of rapid-fire shots -- so they probably got the whole dump on "film" (it's all digital now, but hey) and happened to have that classic shot. They didn't just take one snapshot and get lucky If you're interested in that sort of thing, here's a very good article about SI's workflow: http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_pag...cid=7-6453-6821 CW
  17. Mozilla 1.7.12. It seems to happen frequently when I try going "back" when the applets that load when making a post don't fully load (that make sense?). If I'm patient and make sure the screen is fully rendered before clicking back, it seems to be fine. Could be one of the extentions I have installed in Mozilla causing the problem, which is why I didn't bring it up (that, and I'm probably one of the few using Mozilla instead of IE or Firefox so didn't think you needed to waste time looking into it). CW
  18. I'm not sure about slower, but it crashes Mozilla all the time (I don't use Firefox, but suppose maybe I should switch to that....)
  19. Actually, all of their games say not available for store pickup. I just checked NHL 07 and Gears of War, and both were unavailable. Probably not related.
  20. http://www.standard.net/live/news/94784/ And while you're at it, have fun captioning the photo: http://www.standard.net/inc/images/photos/...20a567c84cc.jpg FYI - this happened in Utah.
  21. I have an Amazon.com card -- 1% for all purchases, 3% for Amazon.com purchases, paid out in $25 gift certificates. I also have the Citibank Diamond Preferred card. I signed up because they gave me $150 to do so. I get 1 point/dollar, and 5 points/dollar at gas stations. I can get a $50 gift certificates for 5000-6000 points (depending on the store). It's my backup card in case my Amazon one doesn't work (credit card companies seem to like freezing accounts lately if they think there's "suspicious activity" on it. ) I also have a Charles Schwabb card that they paid me $150 to take. I'll probably cancel at some point as it doesn't integrate into Quicken at all and doesn't have good rewards (it was my backup card before the Citibank one). The one thing to look out for on cards is what the maximum bonus per year is. My Amazon card has no limit, but the Citibank is limited to 30,000 points if I recall. Sounds like a lot, but I charge EVERYTHING (including my insurance premiums), so it all adds up and you could end up closer than you think (especially when you take bonus points into consideration). The AmEx card Scott listed has no limit, which is nice. I'm not sold on the tiered structure though, but I should do the math to figure it out just in case... CW
  22. We're like $20M under the cap next yearr, aren't we? I don't think his renegotiating helps us keep either Fletcher or Clements.
  23. No way. He came back from his achilles and BLEW UP Brady on the first play of the game, but hurt his hamstring and was out for a couple of months. He needs the offseason to heal up, but he'll be back. Maybe not 100%, but even an 80% Spikes is better than most LBs at 150%. We keep him until training camp and if he sucks, then cut him. I don't think that'll happen though. You want to go into next season without Fletcher, Clements OR Spikes?!
  24. If Jone's first name is Adam, why is he allowed to have a "P" on his jersey? That's not his name, and it doesn't seem right to me. CW
  25. http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html As others have said, landlords can NOT deny your right to a dish. The only thing they can do is stop you from permanently mounting to their building. You can use a temporary clamp, a pole in bucket, etc, and there's nothing they can do. Even if it's in the lease, it'd be considered an unenforcable clause (similar to when landlords put "We can enter your property at any time for any reason" -- at least in Minnesota, that's unenforcable and the landlord faces a $50 fine each time he enters your apartment).
