Why did he get fined for a line change?!?! What, the league can fine you for putting people on the ice that it doesn't agree with?! Fine him for his "run 'em" comment, fine. But for putting a line out there? Please. Also, I watched the highlights online. Why isn't anyone saying anything about the fact that the Ottawa player started shoving around the Buffalo player BEFORE the puck was even dropped! He ran after OUR GUY. How is that not trying to instigate things? Am I missing something? CW

Let's have a thread with Internet Classics. Here's a few that I remember: AYBABTU: http://allyourbase.planettribes.gamespy.co...deo1_view.shtml Dancing Baby (no idea why this one was popular...): http://www.burningpixel.com/Baby/Babygif.htm Gay Bar: http://www.rathergood.com/gaybar/ CW

United States One Dollar Coin rolled out Today...

In Minnesota, most places used to treat a Canadian quarter the same as an American quarter (not sure if they still do). So when I was a poor college student and I'd go home (Niagara Falls, NY) to visit family, I used to be sure to get a roll or two of Canadian quarters to help pay for parking. Dishonest? I didn't think so, since the parking attendants were fine with treating them as US currency. -
That's overkill and expensive. You can do better. CW

Frankly, if that's all you're using your computer for, my opinion is to just buy a cheap Dell and be done with it. Pretty much any computer they sell will fit your needs. You could also build your own if you want. You'll need the following components: Case Power supply (sometimes comes with the case) motherboard CPU memory video card harddrive DVD burner It's generally cheaper to buy from Dell, but you'll get better components and faster speeds if you build yourself. Again though, if you're just doing basic stuff, you're probably better off just buying a Dell for $600 and be done with it. CW

My sister had that a lot when she was a baby. I remember going to the hospital at least once or twice. CW -
I think the blogs disappeared when Scott upgraded the board. I still want the recipes to come back. BTW -- I think you'd like the Johnny Depp version of the movie - it was very well done. CW

Yeah, then you deal with thunderstorms (that's what happened when I had to sit on the tarmac in Duluth, MN for 3 hours).
-
A few years ago, returning from Seattle, there were storms in the Twin Cities so we were diverted north to Duluth. We sat on the tarmac for 3 hours waiting to take off. It was cramped, stuffy, hot, and nobody was giving us any update as to what was happening. I thought I was going to go crazy. This was on NWA, and we got nothing out of it I can't imagine 8 hours or longer stuck in a non-moving plane. CW

Further proof that you don't understand, well, anything.

Have a checkbook? Those are valuable. DVDs and CDs are easily sold at pawn shops, as are electronics like DVD players, TiVos, cameras, camcorders, etc. I think silverware (the fancy stuff) might be valuable. Guns are valuable. Someone stole my grandfather's shotgun from the back of a closet many years ago. To your point though, it's not like you get rich robbing a house. I find it horrible that someone would violate you for what will most likely be worth less than $500. CW

Does anyone in here watch pro hoops?

They're not But regardless, you can have the best locks in the world and what's a thief going to do? Break the window to get in. CW
-
Bump keys have been around for a long time and they work. You can get a new lock, but it doesn't really help all that much. Locks are a deterrant and help slow people down a little, but no lock can prevent someone from breaking in. CW

DiCamillo cheesecake... Yum. (I grew up in NF,NY - and my grandmother actually lived right across the street from a small DiCamillo - since gone - on 20th street. We used to get fresh bread all the time from there). For me, Khan's Mongolian Barbeque is the best. It's a stir fry where you go up and put your food in a bowl (they have a ton of meats/seafood, vegetibles, two types of noodles, etc), you pour the spices you want on at the end, and then you hand it to a chef to cook for you. Get back to your table and the waitress has brought rice and these little biscuits with hot honey and sesame seeds in the middle. Yummy. If you're a pig, you can go up for seconds during dinner, but I'm such a regular I can stack the food quite high with only one trip through CW

From mead's link: Maid service - $1-5 per day typically, up to $10 per day depending upon how much mess you make. Tip daily because there might be a different maid each day. Leave the tip on your pillow. Err on the side of being generous, and tip on the last day also. I'd disagree on the pillow thing -- you should usually leave it on a desk or nightstand, but write a note that says "Thank you" and leave it on top or to the side of the money so that the maid knows it's a tip. The general rule of thumb is $1-$2 per person in the room per day for an average hotel, more if it's a fancier hotel and more still if you leave the place a mess. Most people don't leave any tips at all which sucks. Cleaning rooms is a lot harder than delivering pizza, and they generally make minimum wage (my mom and grandma both used to clean rooms and I used to help sometimes - the work sucks. My mom still works in the laundry department of a hotel and that sucks just as bad). CW

I always tip well for good service. Our local pizza place annoys me because they always want to include the tip when we order (we pay with a credit card) and we always have to tell them we'll add it when the guy shows up. When we ordered this past weekend, the box came crushed and the cheese break was missing the dipping sauce, so that was rather annoying, but he got the same tip. (our order is usually about $18 and we tip $3. For all you "food services people," is that pretty good?) CW

So what? So he's not a diehard fan, who cares? CW

Equal distance from your place. Where would you rather go?

Target, because it supports the local economy (they're based in Minneapolis). CW -

One thing to keep in mind is that the cost of installation varies greatly from area to area. The higher the cost of living in an area, the more expensive to install. I can tell you that in the Twin Cities, it cost me $328 to get the igniter on my furnance replaced last month. Of course, a big chunk of that cost was the guy having to come out at 11:30pm on a Saturday night to do it. *sigh* As always, get multiple estimates if you can - that's the only way to know for sure. I'm a HUGE proponant of http://www.angieslist.com -- it's pretty cheap and comes in handy for stuff like this. CW

You mean like the guy in your state who is now a registered sex offender for scolding a girl who jumped in front of his car since he "unlawfully detained a child?" Yup, I agree with you 100% unfortunately. CW -
Ouch !...Season ticket invoice arrived...$2400 for 4 tix
Fezmid replied to K-No's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where are your seats in Buffalo? I splurged and am 10 rows from center court behind the penalty boxes; I could get two seasons 20 rows behind one of the goals for that price. Plus, I think Minnesota charges more than most places - I paid more for nose-bleed seats at the Metrodome to watch the Bills play than I did for lower-level seats at the Ralph. Nice to see a fellow LAX fan though! I was at the first-ever Bandits game with a bunch of friends, so I was psyched when Minnesota got a team and am literally one of the first season ticket holders in the state CW -
