Looks like Mays is off the draftboard
Joe Miner replied to nemhoff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He just made William Moore a ton of money. Moore should take him out to dinner. -
I think they do. If they don't fit you, then perhaps you're not most everybody.

My master plan is in full effect

C'mon now. That duo would only last a year until they picked another CB in the 2010 draft. -
Hey, I have something in common with Megan Fox. We both want Selma Hayek's boobs!

Another thing that helps out your plan is that Taylor Mays is staying at USC for 1 more year. Unfortunately for us, that means that the DB drafted in round 1 won't be as good as Taylor Mays. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/28638792/ -
So after the UAW convinces the government to not make them renegotiate, and the CEO's convince the government to let them keep their jobs, where does that leave us?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28547537/ This is less about whose fault it is that Chrysler is going under (management, unions, economy, etc...), and why we think giving them $4 billion now and possibly another $3 billion in a few months is gonna do anything.

Jason Statham's best movies were from his Guy Ritchie days. Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels Snatch Although I will say The Bank Job was decent. I don't have much of a desire to see the incredibly contrived stuff like Crank or Death Race. But he certainly seems to be the new BruceWillis/JeanClaudeVanDamm/StevenSeagal/Arnold Schwarzenegger of the 2000's.

I missed the first half of the Texas/OSU game last night, but I can't say he was that impressive in the second half. I was really hoping to see a lot more from him. If I missed some plays, please let me know. Does anyone have any thoughts on him and his performance last night?

Rey Mauluga shows off his moves
Joe Miner replied to Shanahan's Horseshoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll slightly disagree with this, although I understand your point. It's definitely Andrews' place of work. Since Maualauga isn't actually employed, it's really not his place of work. She works at a college football game. He plays in a football game. She has an obligation to be a professional. He has no such obligation. He does have an obligation to represent the school in an appropriate manner, in which I would suggest this doesn't fit. Working for a living and abiding by workplace rules is quite different than representing your school at a college football game. While actions that are appropriate should be the same in both situations, the consequences for failure to follow the rules are vastly different. This IMO is just an incident that shows his immaturity. I'd like to think that Pete Carrol called him into his office and had a brief talk with him about it. I'd like to think that perhaps he called Andrews, apologized, and she was then gracious enough to not make a big deal about it, because she understood it was a just an immature act by a college age kid wanting to have fun and get some laughs. I'd like to think that he explained he wasn't thinking when he did it, but certainly didn't mean her any harm or offense, and she understood where he was coming from, because most of us have been at the unthinking college maturity at some point in our lives. I'd like to think he learns to think a bit more about his actions in the future, and how they make him and whatever organization he represents look. Hopefully some, if not all of that happened. Who knows. Is it a nothing incident? No. Is it quite on the level of sexual assault in a locker room or throwing a nasty jock strap at her head just because she's a woman? No. Is it an incident that speaks to what women still have to overcome in the male dominated sports environment? Not in my opinion, because I would base that kind of stuff more on intent. I think it's just an immature college guy having fun and trying to get some laughs and not thinking beyond himself as to how his actions will affect someone else. That doesn't make it acceptable behavior, but it's not nearly as reprehensible as the locker room incidents that were in those articles. -
Yes, Hollywood Has Sunk Pretty Low But....
Joe Miner replied to Dante's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'd like to see this one as well. Have a feeling it'll be on video though cause the wife won't want to go. Speaking of the rare non-crap from Hollywood, one of the best movies I've seen in a long time was Gone Baby Gone. Excellent movie IMO, plus it never hurts not knowing anything about a movie before you see it. -
Rey Mauluga shows off his moves
Joe Miner replied to Shanahan's Horseshoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Out of curiosity and ignorance, what are the rules concerning women reporters in men's locker rooms? And men reporters in female locker rooms? Are there any? -

Are we picking who we want, or who we think the Bills will take? I have no idea at this point who we should take. There's lots of good choices out there, but still lots of things to find out about each guy. So for me, I'm still undecided. My prognostication for the Bills is that they will choose: Taylor Mays S, USC

Consider for a moment this tactical move by RW
Joe Miner replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I predict that instead of the above, somewhere around Week 5 or 6, Jauron actually just unfolds a cot on the sidelines and takes a nap during a game. -
The OFFICIAL Joe In Macungie makes crappy threads thread

Also crappy comebacks. -
Actually if at some point in the draft (after pick 11), the Bills picked up Duke Robinson, G OU, I wouldn't be upset. Possibly the best G in the 2009 class.

After watching White and Bradford, there isn't much of a comparison. Bradford is way better than White. Bradford's problem will be moving up under center in the NFL. He's pretty well rounded and smart, but he just doesn't have the experience playing under center as much as he needs for the NFL. He'll be a first rounder, but probably one that you need to take a couple of years to teach. I don't see him as a Matt Ryan type who can play well right away. Give him a couple years with a decent coach and a decent system, and he'll be good. Either way, the Bills have a lot more problems than QB. It would be ridiculous for them to go after Bradford.

Watch Chase Coffman right now on ESPN
Joe Miner replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Weatherspoon is definitely a guy that helped his stock last night. I've never been that high on Moore. I like Coffman, but I'll say again that I hope he doesn't try to bring that hurdling defenders move to the NFL. That's just a recipe for disaster at that level. Although I like Coffman, Gresham from OU and Pettigrew from OSU could both have good arguments made that they are better TE's in the Big 12 than Coffman is. Gresham is by far the best receiving TE. Coffman is a good receiver and a decent blocker. Pettigrew is a pretty solid receiver and probably a better blocker than the other two. Gresham will go in the first round, but I would think that either Coffman and/or Pettigrew could drop to the third. -
The Cowboys collapse and so does Romo

Excellent -
My prediction is that you get your wish on the FS. I'll say it again. When Taylor Mays is on the board at the Bills pick, they'll take him.
-
Are you saying that Gresham will still be there in Rd 3, but Chase Coffman will have already been drafted? That's completely crazy if you are. Unless Gresham gets injured or craps the bed at the combine, he's the #1 TE in the draft. Many people would argue that Pettigrew from OSU is better than Coffman as well.

What are your thoughts on Orakpo? He looks like a beast at times, but disappears at times to me. I'm also slightly worried about his injury as I never heard (or bothered to look up) exactly what and how serious it was. He's also a UT guy which makes me skeptical (which may or may not be fair) about how he'll do in the pros.

I wonder if they had a pipe organ?
