  1. Hopefully something like "If you don't wanna coach, I will."
  2. Again, not agreeing, just trying to guess why they would call that a penalty. Apparently if a guy "looks" like he's headed out of bounds, you can't touch him.
  3. Not that I'm agreeing with the call, but the replay shows Mitchel possibly taunting him as he landed out of bounds. That could have been what turned a possible no call into a late hit penalty. But you are correct, that was a crap call. We'll see how much he gets fined.
  4. Actually, Edison was a big fan of DC, and used AC to run the electric chair because he wanted to show how dangerous it was. It was a big marketing ploy on his part. What's that teach us? Don't put engineers and scientists in charge of marketing!
  5. Hey, no one said we were gonna have to do math in this thread.
  6. Maybe, but definitely no birth control. So buy Viagra at your own risk (or at the sheep's risk I guess)
  7. Dev, I think your football analogy in the other thread can be made to apply here as well.
  8. Sorry to quote myself, but I should mention a few other things: You'll also need a networked system set up for at least a single contingency. Which will take a sh---ton of computing power. Many networks today are pushing the limits of their computer modeling. Something of this magnitude would take hours to analyze a single change on the systems that most companies are running. Not to mention that I'm not even sure that the programs that Siemens and GE make would be capable of handling that many thousands (maybe even millions) of buses. You'll need all sorts of new security in place to run this thing. Physical, organizational, electronic, etc... Any large distribution or transmission load that an individual company would be bringing on line would have to pass contingency studies by this new third party (government run) organization to get anything built. Good luck on getting something like a new Walmart built. Companies would constantly be spending money to upgrade their interconnects with other companies in order to reduce the number of flowgates on the system. Which means everyone's bills go up, because those costs are capital and get passed on to customers. Who the hell would ever figure out which company and which company's customers are paying for what upgrades to the system? It's a cluster!@#$ as it is figuring that stuff out on a small scale. Most parts of the US are regulated (thankfully), but some parts are not. Talk about headaches in trying to coordinate anything between two completely different entities like that. This is so far from feasible, it's pretty laughable that it's an idea that just gets thrown out there as a "solution". I suggest we instead spend $40 billion dollars on training a monkey to follow Al Gore around and beat the piss out of him whenever he talks. And for $40 billion, the monkey has to film it and put it on Youtube for our enjoyment.
  9. Even Avril Lavigne's boyfriend would say Megan Fox is hotter. I believe it's one of the Laws of Thermodynamics. It's Science.
  10. Here's something to think about. It costs about $1,000,000/mile to build 138kV transmission line. Not substations, not high voltage (which is actually what's needed, and would be at least 345kV and up, 500kV, 756kV), not any type of protection system, not any Right of Way. Just poles and wires for 138kV is about $1,000,000/mile. Then pay people to monitor and operate it after building perhaps the most elaborate control center in the world to operate the entire US electrical grid. Now, go out and build one to tie the entire US together and do it for $40 billion, along with all the other crap he wants.
  11. Is that even a real question? Megan Fox in a landslide.
  12. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2008/11/06/y...ntar-fasciitis/ So not being a doctor, what exactly is plantar fasciitis? Sounds like someone needs to tell the boy to wear some shower sandals
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i38X8GA0wAY Sorry if it's been posted before.
  14. That reporter needs to be beaten for the sheer number of bad puns in the report.
  15. I completely agree. IMO, a C and a DT are the most important things we need. Followed immediately by a G and a DE. Next up is a OLB and a TE. But, then again you also have to draft for value, so if there is a TE with a much higher value than any DE on the board, then take the TE. We just picked up a WR, a few CB's, and a couple of S's in the last few drafts. We need to give them some time to see how they're gonna turn out.
  16. I wonder if colleges today offer interpersonal communication classes online? That could explain a lot.
  17. So the generation of Pokemon, Barney, and Power Rangers is finally in college? Oh crap.
  18. TT has a rough schedule left. They have OSU in Lubbock and the OU in Norman. Assuming they win their last three, then after the Baylor game they'll have the Big 12 championship in Kansas City (I think). Against either MU or KU. Now the North isn't the greatest competition, but it's practically a home game for either of those two teams. That's a rough schedule. After playing their hearts out against UT, it'll be pretty impressive if they can keep that same intensity up the rest of the year, because that's exactly what it will take to win those remaining games. IMO, the Championship game should be between the winner of the Big 12 and the SEC. You'll likely have either Alabama or Florida versus OU, UT, or TT. Even if PSU goes unbeaten, if any of those teams end the season with 1 loss, they should be ahead of PSU. But that won't happen. As long as there is no more than 1 other unbeaten team, PSU will be in the championship if they win out.
  19. Ok, I must have been squinting too hard on that one. Thought I saw something that wasn't really there. Thanks I really didn't like that playcall either. You gotta be able to run or sneak for 1/2 a foot on 2 plays. Plain and simple.
  20. Does anyone have a replay of the 3rd down pass? I was watching a crappy internet feed, but it sure looked to me like there was a wide open receiver in the middle of the field pas the first down mark when Trent threw it to the end zone. Again the internet video wasn't that clear on my monitor so I'm not sure if I'm right on this or not. If I'm right, it would have been an easy first down, and possibly a TD.
  21. Do women know about shrinkage?
  22. The Federalists? Anti-Masonics? Free Soil Party? Anit-Nebraska Party? Greenback Party?
  23. My point, which you obviously missed in your rushed attempt to defend your precious candidate, was that there isn't much real concrete information out there about either candidate. Whether it's the Muslim issue, the tax issue, the terrorist issue, or any other issue. All elections are big smoke and mirrors productions. Keep telling people what they want to hear, but don't actually tell them anything of substance. Obama held an infomercial to correct misinformation about him and some of his ideas. From everything I've read and seen about it, he didn't end up giving out that much more real information on much of anything. This infomercial didn't answer any relevant questions about him or his ideas. It didn't give me any real information to help decide that my life would be better if he were president. It was just the same campaign promises and ideas that have been out there since this whole thing started. For simpler clarification, campaign promises and plans don't actual equal real information. Campaign promises are about as much misinformation as an internet email on Obama's Muslim and terrorist ties. The people that are misinformed aren't just those that think Obama is a Muslim or a terrorist or a socialist, or whatever. The people that are misinformed are the ones that think either of these guys puts America's interests over their own. The people that are misinformed are those that think they know how any of the policy ideas these candidates preach will affect them. The people that are misinformed are those that think their candidate will get elected and get the same propaganda that they are preaching now passed. As I said, we're all misinformed people if we think we know or even have a good idea as to what will happen to this country if either candidate is elected. Do you think that you know me? Have you read my posts for the last 8 years? I doubt it. Do you have any idea what my political opinions and ideas are? Do you know what my views on anything are, and how I came about forming them? Or are you just mad because I'm telling you that your crusade to educate all of us on Obama is pointless, and verging on pathetic?
  24. Don't worry, it's a strawman that Kelly can keep fighting against instead of actually defending the real issues people have with Obama. He's upset and worried by all the misinformation that's out there, that he hasn't bothered to realize that there is very little real information out there by either candidate. He's just deluded enough to think that only about 10% of the population has been misinformed about the candidates and their plans.
