  1. Agreed, on all counts. If we went CB at 12 after letting EJ Gaines walk for so little I would be sick.
  2. Great answers. Very impressed with Tyrod as a person and hope he can make it work eventually. I have full confidence he'll be a starter somewhere next season.
  3. Milano Tre White TT Shady Tre White was absolutely lock down today, dude is just amazing.
  4. I've seen the lack of receiving talent getting discussed around here but the what is just as important has been the lack of production of our run game. Last season we had Shady running for almost 1300 yards and 13 TD's while averaging 5.4 yards per carry. Mike Gillislee ran for almost 600 yards and 8 TD's while averaging 5.7 ypc. This season we have Shady running for 216 yards and 0 TD's while averaging 3.2 ypc and Mike Tolbert running for 135 yards and 1 TD and averaging 3.6 ypc. Obviously we have to look at the offense holistically and with the lack much in the way of a passing attack, defenses can stack the box and play the run, but the same Tyrod Taylor was a part of both of these offenses and he looks to be playing at much the same level as last season. If we have the same level of production from our run game that we had last season, or even something close to it, we win these games handily. Unfortunately, there has been a massive drop off in production that will cost us games.
  5. Anything you see post here. Those looked like some brutal injuries for both of them and I'm anxious to hear something back.
  6. I could see that happening but I'm thinking next year will be EJ's year. If he keeps on working as hard as he has and tightens up the last couple aspects of his game, I think the EJ project will finally be ready.
  7. Just force him to throw the ball deep. Keep someone in the middle of the field as a spy and then protect against the mid range. Tyrod has yet to show he has a good deep ball and if you're Indy you make him show you that.
  8. Easley has always shone in the preseason but has never been able to do anything during the time he's seen which hasn't been a totally insignificant amount.
  9. Preseason does count for evaluating your starters, as you said, but there are a lot of things to take into consideration and a limited amount of things you can learn because of that. The defense, for example, did not look too hot but that was because, as Rex said, he was trying to evaluate Darby and left him on an island where he got burned. We learned that our QB's can throw the ball well and make plays, but against a defense that is learning a new system and couldn't cover anyone for their lives. The Steelers defense that we saw is completely different from what we'll see from the Patriots or the Dolphins.
  10. Completely agree. It's hard to take too much from this game give how terrible Pittsburgh's defense was and I think people have been drawing too many conclusions from it. This is a prime example of how this is just the preseason.
  11. He's complete over 87 percent of his passes in both games he's played in so far. I'd rather have Tyrod or EJ start but Cassel starting would hardly be a disaster, especially with the weapons he'd be surrounded with.
  12. It was a great drive but far from perfect. The Steelers were leaving guys open all across the field. Taylor had guys wide open farther down the field but he threw to guys for 5-10 yard gains instead.
  13. Cassel performed fine in the preseason games. Obviously he was nowhere near as exciting as Tyrod or as impressive as EJ but he would march the team steadily down the field with consistency, finding the open guy and delivering accurate throws.
  14. Especially on the one deep ball. He had the positioning and then moved to the receivers other side allowing him to make the catch uncontested.
  15. The front office seems to have been pretty high on him since he's been here and I think there was an article last year about him being a diamond in the rough. With the depth at linebacker cut thin with the losses of Kiko and Spikes hopefully this kid can show that he's a good player. Whaley seems like he knows linebackers so hopefully he's right with Ty as well.
  16. He was a team captain and a very good contributor, don't act like he wasn't good just because he didn't sign with us again.
  17. http://www.rantsports.com/ncaa-football/files/2012/12/LSU-Strenght-Coach-Window.jpg He's also on this list with some pretty bad company
  18. I wish we hadn't cut him. He was good enough to warrant his 2.5 million cap hit.
  19. It tells us that he needs to show something his third year. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/2580/drew-brees Look at Drew Brees his first two years. The third year is where the excuses run out.
