Hackett is bad, like very bad
The Big Cat replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So you're saying we should go full time to an offense that had to drive 105 yards to pick up 80 thanks to penalties, but mostly, sacks? -

active players who are candidates for "best ever"
The Big Cat replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wilson the greatest QB ever? Yeah, no. Brees neither. Luck certainly has the trajectory, though. And the other three I agree with. Gates belongs in the TE conversation, and Thomas may soon as well. For those guys, they have Gonzalez's longevity to content with. I thought Megatron could at least vie for the "greatest after Rice" distinction (for which there's currently a highly debatable scrum), but this was a key year to distance himself from that pack and the injury has pretty much prevented that from being the case. -

I expect the offense to improve significantly...
The Big Cat replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Precisely. Also, I challenge anyone making sweeping statements like this to detail for us all just how specifically their secondary will shut out our receiving corps. Saying "the Bills should get shut out against the Jets" is the equivalent of unsubstantiated claims like "I see absolutely no reason whatsoever why Cyril Richardson won't be named this year's Super Bowl MVP." -

Way to cherry pick two games with combined SEVEN turnovers. Why do you keep ignoring that point, and specifically the point that they turned it over TWICE in the red zone against Minnesota. Those are POINTS OFF THE BOARD. Why does this concept elude you? Why is it crazy to think he's "over his head?" Because there's no evidence to support his notion. Period. His critics lean on what they think he should be doing, and rarely address what is actually happening. Even rarer is the pause to consider why it's happening. Referring to him as a "Syracuse OC for 2 years" as if that renders his failure a foregone conclusion is just a lazy critique. Why don't we actually take a look at what he's had to work with in his 23 professional outings: two starting quarterbacks who haven't been on a 53 man roster in 2014, a rookie who lost his job and a journeyman who some fans--YOU AMONG THEM--believe is average, at best. Couple that with the HURRENDOUS offensive line he's been saddled with and a stable of flawed running backs and we should have an offense that's been ranked 30th through 32nd the entire time he's been in charge of it. To listen to a lot of posters (who have no clue what they're talking about), and you'd think we do. BUT WE DON'T. Hello. Do we have a great offense? Hell no we don't. And short of ignoring our personnel issues at KEY positions, that's a completely unreasonable standard by which to judge Hackett. You mean the fumbles in the red zone? Yeah...that ****'s gotta go. -

And what is it that you suggest? And to answer your question, yes. I think it does suit our outside skill players and our weakness upfront. I think it's also a brand of football that simply doesn't go out of style. It's a winning approach. It's already been posted here, but I'll come right back and ask: do you think the offense is struggling to move the ball? If yes, how do you account for the statistics that show we're comfortably above average in that department? In three games, the Orton-led offense--if not for fumbles, which have NOTHING to do with the OC--has failed to score a TD in the red zone ONCE. So, while every armchair coach on this message board has a better grasp of our team's strengths than the coaches do, the only complains I've seen are how we're using our guys and playcalling (a critique that I've assailed for years, and will continue to since nobody outside the huddle or locker room knows which plays are called, which are audibled into or out of and where execution failures occur. Even the all-22 analyses surrender this knowledge gap, so spare me.) So outside of play calling and player utilization, what's there to complain about? Production? Points? We've squared off against a top-10 practically every week this season, and rarely has the offense looked stymied. So what's the complaint? I'll even help you out and tell you EXACTLY when/how our offense has stalled: Penalties Sacks (OL breakdowns) Spiller taking negative yards trying to bounce Penalties Drops Penalties -

It never ceases to amaze me when fans on a message board think they know more about the players and teams than one of the coordinators. -

The most important point you're missing: we only managed 370+ yards against the 7th best defense. HELLO. He sucks. -

And yet in 23 professional outings he's coached EJ Manuel, Jeff Tuel (consolation), Kyle Orton and Thad Lewis to victories. -
I'm just looking forward to a little Boobie jiggle.

Translative property says a smack down is coming

What evidence is there that our D is prone to the big play?? -

Translative property says a smack down is coming
The Big Cat replied to Jimmy Spagnola's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills fans have legitimate reasons to be concerned with how our O-line matches up with their D-line. We also have massive question mark at running back. But we shouldn't be concerned about is how their secondary matches up against our pass attack, and given their likelihood to surrender a big one or two, I think Buffalo (provided they get the turnovers under wraps) can stand to lose the trench battle, thus surrendering the jab to land the haymakers. -

If Geno Smith has proven one thing, it's his ability to play eight consecutive mistake-free quarters. -
See three get three. Our oline is good enough for that.

Put Bryce Brown on your fantasy team.
The Big Cat replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt you've watched all other 31 teams enough to make this evaluation. That said, our interior pass protection blows. That said, our interior run blocking isn't all that bad...when running backs do what the coaches have said is the goal: see three, get three. -

Got the claim in this morning. -
Turned to my buddies at the bar yesterday and said "Gilmore's doing a great job of cleaning up the running back when they're pushed to the outside." I mean, wait... Gilmore sucks.

Lets look at Bryce Brown highlights
The Big Cat replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Omg! A running back who knows how to set up his blocks!? Playing for Buffalo!? In all seriousness, what do we think will be the moment Sunday when we all go 'so THATS why he's been deactivated"? -
Can't have it both ways. Same negative Nancy's that are saying it was a ****ty win would have assailed a big win. We beat them. We did not lose to them, There are no style points in the win column. Did anyone here question the Pats* after they eeked out a win...at home...in primetime...against a division rival...on Thursday? Certainly not the same folks questioning the Bills now.

Fairburn's killing it. -
I'm not sure what any of this has to do with Tom Brady being a whiny, pouty poor sport.

What are you suggesting? Can't just hang it on Brandon without suggesting what he should/could have done. -

This is turning into another round of the always-elusive Tavaris Jackson Syndrome. What we can't see must be better than what we can. -
