  1. Revolver. Because it has the same appeal as Rubber Soul, but more refined. But it's not full-on !@#$ you like Pepper. The White Album is their marvelous player-for-player showcase. Abbey Road is transcendent. And the shortcomings of Let it Be are amplified by Let it Be...Naked. On the back end, had it not been for a late-year rush, had the best of Beatles for Sale and Help! been combined into one polished album, then nobody's taking about Rubber Soul as the "turning point." But WTF do I know? I was born in '84. I've always referred to Beatles '65 as Beatles for Sale. But it sounds like you and I definitely see eye to eye on the music of the thing. Can't overlook that Paperback Writer and Rain come from that period. As my Beatles fanaticism began to wane after college, Rain was the track I returned to more so than any other.
  2. rather hoping that picture goes down in Bills iconography (i have a feeling it will!)
  3. NEVER FORGET Dude, there's nothing Fred has done or will do that is a surprise to them.
  4. We need LB depth.
  5. Wilson's worst days are MUCH MUCH worse than EJ's to this point. And I'm not sold that his best days are exceedingly better or even unattainable for EJ. You can simplify that to meet your intellect as much as necessary.
  6. Yeah, I think a lot of NFL fans in general just cling to this narrative that Wilson is some kind of wunderkinder. He's not. Well, if that's your stance, as is the stance of a lot of grumpy Bills fans, then so be it. I happen to disagree, completely.
  7. If it doesn't stick after this explanation, I'm not sure what we can reasonably hope for.
  8. It's not in the slightest bit absurd to think that the Bills are being built in a way similar to the Seattle Seahawks or that they're close to having the same caliber defense/rushing attack which makes them who they are, especially now that Rex Ryan is the coach. And of course this is about EJ because the question becomes can EJ have the same level of impact on winning football games for Buffalo that Wilson has for Seattle, and I believe in that possibility now that we have fresh blood at key coaching positions.
  9. Whether or not it "looks bad" to idiots and whether or not it is actually bad are two entirely different things. Of course it "looks bad" to idiots. They're idiots. Because he was caught saying the n-word on camera once?
  10. glad I could help! i couldn't listen even if i wanted to, but thank you kindly!
  11. Of course they !@#$ing did. That's what whores do.
  12. If ESPN had a shred of dignity left, they'd fire his ass for saying this ****.
  13. If Bills fans truly believed that the Marrone/Hackett offense was as Mickey Mouse as they came, then let's wait and see what we have in EJ and/or a potential "wait and see" before we declare Wilson some unobtainable good. I don't think there's a whole lot that Wilson does that EJ can't. You won't convince me otherwise.
  14. Right, Russel Wilson is ALMOST elite, and mostly because of how he RUNS the ball. If they didn't have the luxury of leaning on Lynch like they do, he wouldn't be half as effective.
  15. Well, the Seahawks came within about 6 seconds and 42" of back to back Super Bowls using the very same plan. So there's that.
  16. I'm sure many people share your confusion given "candid's" most well-known usage, as you've mentioned. What's confusing is that it's NOT the camera that's "candid" it's the behavior the camera captures. Very confusing.
  17. I could understand people arguing against Harrison's guitar-playing talent (mostly music fans of the Rush variety). He's no virtuoso, he doesn't play "hard," he doesn't play fast and wild BUT his style and his playing is VERY distinguishable, meaning you can hear a lick, a riff or a solo, even if it's not a Beatles song, and know right away that Harrison had something to do with it. When I was in college--with no context--I was listening to the Badfinger song "Day After Day" and noted that the guitar stylings sounded like a distinct pairing of "Badge" and "Something." Then I learned Harrison played on "Badge" (Cream) and had a heavy hand in writing/producing "Day After Day." Never has my musical ear been more validated! Upfront? So...candid?
  18. Rodak knows better (it pains me to say this). In all likelihood it was some wrinkly, half-deaf, "I guess I'm doing this Facebook thing now so like it or whatever, please" reporter like Sal Maiorano--a guy who hasn't yet been tipped off to "vibrate" mode because every time he's told about it he rolls his eyes and insists "I don't know how to work these damn things."
  19. "wait and see." Said by Doug with a level of glee rare for a grown man/football guy.
  20. How candid have your conversations been with the 22 year old on the topic of drugs? I don't think it's fair to say the Beatles had a lead singer. George took the lead on A LOT of the early stuff and Paul/John split them up as they wrote them which was pretty much right down the middle. And then who could forget the Ringo classics! Don't Pass Me By!
  21. Rand_Getlin 9:48am via Twitter Web Client Source: The NFL sent a letter to all 32 teams stating their displeasure w/ the release of contract terms prior to the start of free agency.
  22. So...would we call Jerry's contract a hometown discount??
