  1. Successful "Franchise QB's" come along one per draft year on average, is missing out more painful than having a bust?
  2. I am surprised to see most of you have your "sarcasm blocker" turned on. Having been a Bills fan since the Knox Farms/Roycroft Inn days what the Bills do on draft day rarely shocks me anymore. Reaching for players, skipping over surefire probowl talent, drafting one year wonders, talking up character and drafting jerks or worse, forgeting glaring needs to draft positions already team strengths, ignoring glaring weakness year after year..... Go Bills ,come on shock it to me!one more time.

  4. Defering is a pun on some past Bills coaching decisions. Having the 3rd pick hopefully won't be something we see again till 2025 and many franchise players who stay healthy can carry a team for 10 years if the owner is willing to pay-up.
  5. I have to admit, I'm glad I'm not the one making this decision. It is going to change the course of Bills football for the next 10 years . The big question is pretty obvious, do we take Marcell Dareus or Cam Newton. Both are rare talents that don't come around very often. Marcell would solve a big problem on defense and fits nicely into Chan's plans for a hybrid line being able to play outside in a 3/4 or 4/3, or even inside with his size and speed. How long have we waited for the second coming of Bruce Smith or Albert Haynsworth. Cam Newton could be the next biggest Franchise QB to come along in years with a mix of the ability of Big Ben and Micheal Vick or maybe Ryan Leaf. A Heisman QB ,winning the Championship in whatever level he has played at. I have been thinking D,D,D like most on TSW but when you think about the future backfield we could have..... isn't it about time the first round curse ends. Last night in a dream the Bills sacked Brady seven times in the first game, what an unstopable zone rush from Merriman and Dareus. As I side historically, have not past Bill's uniform changes come with major change at starting QB. Just saying. Winners want the Ball. Chan Gailey / Buddy Nix post draft press. Our thinking was with the depth at the D position we felt we could fill our needs in the later rounds. A player like Cam Newton doesn't fall in your lap very often in the draft , if ever.
  6. God ,show me a sign.............hmmmm, nah...... Come on God show me a sign.......
  7. IF the idea is to pick from mocks 1,2,or 3 , here is my vote. And yes,I think Ponder will be good in the NFL. If we got this group .... 1 3 Buffalo Marcell Dareus DE34 Alabama 2 34 Buffalo Martez Wilson ILB Illinois 3 68 Buffalo Christian Ponder QB Florida State 4 99 Buffalo Luke Stocker TE Tennessee 4 121 Buffalo Jarvis Jenkins DT43 Clemson 5 130 Buffalo Casey Matthews ILB Oregon 6 164 Buffalo Curt Porter OT Jacksonville State 7 195 Buffalo Mike Blanc DE34 Auburn
  8. Lucky for the Bills , I hear Shane Falco and the Jackson brothers have signed futures contracts.
  9. He had an interesting take on Maybin; very athletic kid who wants to be good but doesn't know how to play the game yet. Waiting....still waiting.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMp2WgcmZRQ .
  10. James Lofton won the 1978 NCAA long jump championship and would have been a Olympic favorite but signed with Packers/ Bills instead.
  11. Much as I hate the Fins and Pats , the "new attitude Jests" are really moving up on the list of a-ole teams.
  12. Just ran accross this; http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2010/12/13/stories-of-the-season-kyle-williams/#comments
  13. Where is the new CBA going to be in all this?? If there is a new rookie cap or a big change in the overall cap structure that will have a huge impact on signings . I don't expect too many FA will be signing until this thing is worked out....And maybe the front office will surprise us. Ralph may be old but he is not dumb. I'm hoping he has been holding the "Cash to cap" down the last few years with an eye on the economy and the future. Ralph has shown he will spend money....sometimes. Maybe he will surprise. Heh Ralph , you can't take it with you, the estate tax man is just around the corner. How about one more big run before you go.
  14. Considering the number of snaps he played as a rookie , he did pretty good 23 tackles, 2 passes defended. As a side note McarcanGo had 1 tackle all season.
  15. Ray Guy was a great punter , but as they say, it is special teams ..then WHY NO Steve Tasker, the greatest special team player ever.
  16. The only stats that matter... Fitz averaged close to 2 TDS and 1 INT per game played. When you recall that we had a hard time scoring 3 points a game before he took over...... Want to fix this team, finish the o-line with a RT and a good TE. Address the Defense; stop the run, pressure the QB. If Merriman pans out and we shade toward the 3/4; DT/DE ,a middle LB that can drop in coverage on a TE and actually defend the pass,a SS that can cover and support the run. .
  17. With the contract talks this year teams/players/agents have positioned themselve to be as flexible as possible. This years FA class is pretty stout compared to years passed and if the new CBA comes about many RFA may become FA too. If Ralph and the front office are serious this is a good year to get alot better talent wise.
  18. Was that Harvard degree in economics or theatrical arts?? Go FITZ..
  19. So according to this article the Bills are offering Whitner a contract that averages $5 million a year. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/report/BUF/14476559 Lets see....... that averages out to about $1 million for each pass he has defensed this year.....hmmmmm that about sums it up.
  20. I am happy I have not had to jump out of my seat, at least 3 times a game, and yell out "What the ---k,you have got to be kidding me!!!" Since last season.
  21. This team is way better than past years . The Staff seems to be able to game plan and adjust. The O line looks better even when they are playing with 4th string street free agents. The QB actually knows where and when to throw the ball. The new D looks better and better even without much talent. If we were in the NFC West we would probably be about 9-4 and in 1st place. This years schedule was very tough, but in the long run will make this team better next year.
