  1. Football was football in 1960 and guess what? Football is still football in 2011. You put way to much emphasis on how different QBs today are compared to the past. Did human QBs from the past somehow transform to something superhuman today? I'm not buying your analogy one bit. You obviously are a youngster that thinks the game has dramatically transformed into something it's not. Take a step back. Take a deep breath and try to look at the big picture. I know it hard for you but give it a try. Take a bit of time trying to understand what other people are thinking and a little less time trying to force feed your views on others. I'm not at all saying that your views have no merit, but damn you are very obtuse in your observations of other people's views are. There is most definitely merit to the "you need defense" argument. Stop pretending that there isn't. At the end of the day, we are all Bills fans. Start acting like it.
  2. You name one QB with a defense as bad as Buffalo's last year with better stats. There aren't any. None. Zip. Zero. Nadda. You need to wake up from your delusions and start dealing with reality.
  3. Core training increases stamina. If you had stuck with it long enough you would have noticed the difference and I'm not just talking about having killer abs. He may just think that he will be playing on every down this year and is preparing for that.
  4. I had the same thought.
  5. I can't argue with that. I'm pretty sure I can't stand on them either. There'd be a lot of twisted ankles on the Bill's side
  6. Just realized your username is actually Captain Hindsight.
  7. The problem with last year was that we were predominantly a 4-3 defense going into the draft making many of the team's defensive linemen(Stroud, Kelsay, McCargo) play positions that they never played before. We had a weak defense then and the switch to 3-4 made that even more obvious. I seriously think the Bill's are going to target the Dline "early and often" as a previous poster here mentioned. Wouldn't be surprised if 2 more picks are targeted in the early rounds. And because of the overall performance of the D last year, it just makes sense that the D will be addressed in the first round. Just like the O was first addressed last year because at that time the Offense was considered the weak side of the ball.
  8. I'm a big fan of Von Miller, but I think the Bill's need another dominant force next to Kyle Williams even more. The Dline is now dangerously thin.
  9. No on Newton. Check out this link regarding the depth on the defensive line. Linky If the Bill's ignore the defensive line in the first round, they are just plain dumb. Actually, they should be all over the defensive front in the first couple of rounds.
  10. Stroud on Twitter for what it's worth......... Thanks for my time in Buffalo. I enjoyed it and I wish all of my boys the best. Go Bills Twitter / @Marcus Stroud
  11. With early first and second and third round picks and this years bumper crop of Defensive Linemen, the Bill's are chomping at the bit to beef up the DL. Not that all 3 will be DL but, they will certainly be strong considerations for each of those rounds. And yes, doubly so in the first round.
  12. Well, it looks like the Bills will be looking for a 3-4 DE. Dwan Edwards was the only one we had last year and he got hurt. This also indicates that the team is not going to go back to a 4-3. I really think that the defensive line is going to be the primary focus of this draft.
  13. Fairey? I'd like to see you call him that to his face.
  14. Now if we can just get Carolina to pick Cam Newton
  15. 2 veteran CBs growing old. Their rookie, Cox may miss some time next year as well. Linky That's a pretty big need and is going to make it hard for them to pass up in the 1st round. They could very well go in a different direction and try to pick a CB in the latter rounds but the odds highly in favor of a round 1 pick.
  16. 2. Denver Broncos: Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU. Denver has seen their defensive backs go from one of the best in the NFL, to now finding themselves in need of improvement. Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins are both passes their prime, and don't have many years left to play at the NFL level. Their other cornerback, Perrish Cox, has found himself in legal troubles. Linky Personally, I think this plays into our hands nicely.
  17. Ad hominem? Lex parsimoniae? Your funny. Are these supposed to show us how smart you are? Poz a hero? Seriously, I'm retired Air Force. I can think of a much better definition of the word hero. Now the bolded part at least shows your using you head. Hey, we're all fans. How about we just agree to disagree before this turns into a tasteless barrage.
  18. Who cares about Shanny when we got Wanny......................................stache.
  19. Very true. I'm glad others are looking at things intelligently instead of just looking at what's on the surface. Makes the discussion much more interesting.
  20. It would be awesome if he slipped to the second round. Don't think so though.
  21. I'm pretty sure Poz never once said that he sucks. Again, you are making a black and white analogy and ignoring the rest.
  22. I think you are making some valid points. There are a couple of different ways to go as far as defensive end goes. Put a big disruptive force right next to Kyle Williams and let them wreak havoc on opposing offensive lines or get a defensive end that is quicker and can get after the ball carrier. Both make sense and each draft prospect has traits that fit one or the other. Tough decision. Maybe we'll get lucky and one of the teams in front us goes WR, CB. I'd like to see some depth at DE and LB either way.
  23. This is only part of the problem. Defensive linemen and linebackers have gap assignments. The coaches changed our defensive front so much last year, no one could tell what their responsibility was. Add to the fact that guys like Kyle Williams and Marcus Stroud are penetrating DTs allowing OTs to slip by them rather than taking on multiple blockers. The way to get better is to make sure DTs and Linebackers are on the same page. Everyone gets a gap assignment. If a DT shoots one gap the Linebacker shoots the other. Linebackers were so obviously not on the same page that Wannstedt was brought in. Run defense is not a difficult thing to fix even for mediocre talent if they know their place in the scheme. Trust in the Stache!
  24. Ok. Lets look at this from another perspective.....your signature. Every line is a negative statement about the Buffalo Bills. It's easy to draw conclusions such as: You are a pessimist. You don't like the Bill's management. You are not really a Bills fan. You are a negative person. You are an angry person. You are miserable. Does it mean you are any of those things or even all of those things? Hey, its all right there in black and white so you must be all of those things. Right? Drawing narrow minded conclusions about an interview is different though. Right? Think about it before answering.
