  1. Just a general thought, I have no figures or fancy math models to prove this.... With all of Ralph's complaining lately concerning $$$$ and how it pertains to large vs. small market teams I wouldn't expect the Bills to re-sign London F-B or Nate C and I certainly wouldn't expect any big FA signings either. Ralph is not obligated to spend the whole cap and who is to say that the Bills organization will even have that amount of spendable money to begin with? Someone on this board very cleverly stated that the Bills will become a farm team for defensive backs. I will take this idea further and state that the Bills will become a farm team in general for players. Unless the Bills can win young and quick they will never build a true competitor with this approach. I would love to have this idea thrown back in my face in the next month or so and will gladly eat a heaping sh_tpile of crow if some of the Bills UFA's got re-signed. Please prove me wrong old man.
  2. Dev I understand that aspect of it. My question is: Salary cap 100 million Bills salary 80 million _______________________ free cap space 20 million If the Bills in fact have 20 million real dollars left over where does that money go? I'm sure it gets complicated with the CBA and revenue sharing as all of that 20 million may not have been generated by the BB.
  3. He broke several tackles on his TD catch against the Vikings. Mind you it was 7/17 of Buffalo's points also. If this is a thread aimed at bashing him I would ask everyone to take into account that although Price hasn't put up huge numbers this year he certainly has made numerous clutch catches. Texans, Vikings, Pats (1st game but negated by Robtard Royal) and others
  4. If there is unspent cap money does it go into the organizations pocket? (i.e. profits, re-investment blah blah blah) I'm just curious, if so I can see the Bills being 25 million under the cap with Ralph at the helm.
  5. Which blew my mind because Ricard had a slightly better pre-season than Shelton did. Maybe an attitude problem or something?
  6. Oooohhh while I totally agree be careful what you say about Shelton around here. I started a "release Shelton" thread prior to the start of the season and I got seriously flamed hardcore for it. Shelton is the 2nd coming to some of the people around here. I seem to remember reading quotes like "I dare you to find a better blocking fullback in the NFL right now" and sh_t like that. Shelton played horribly this year, all of Willis' decent runs were in the single back set. His false start penalties and virtual worthlessness as an offensive producer should spell his non re-signing. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this too, here's a pre-emptive apology to all of Shelton's boyfriends on TBD.
  7. Ah, you do make a fine point there. I guess the Redskins now are more akin to the current Yankees franchise. The championship yankees teams at least had some farm players and younger guys. Now it seems to be more of a retirement community for older aged veterans (see also: 2003 and 2004 Buffalo Bills)
  8. This is the most devastating news the Bills have had in decades. Props to Cieslak, he will start at FB next year I predict. Maybe Wilson will have a breakout 13 catch 234 yard game.
  9. Friggin McGee made 2 million this year? 2.75 next and 3.5 after that? freaking unbelievable JP doesn't make squat either Holcomb makes 2X what JP makes
  10. What kind of hope can be derived from listening to that? When the topic of NC staying in Buffalo came up he played a very neutral and political role. He simply stated that when football season began it became strictly football, no contract talks. When asked if he wanted to stay in Buffalo he simply stated that he "....was open to the idea....", that Buffalo gave him a chance to be successful early in his career. There was certainly no indication of a dire interest on Nate's behalf to stay in Buffalo. He was asked about if Buffalo now appearing to be competetive and if this would influence him to want to stay on this team he went on to talk about the new CBA and how it made it possible for ANY team to become a winner and compete. Nate is fairly well spoken and minded his 'P's and 'Q's but I think it's quite inevitable.................... He's outta here. It's a 1st round corner for Bflo this year.
  11. Greggo has failed in Washington like he did in Buffalo. Players don't seem to "buy into" his coaching method/approach. It seems to take about 2 1/2- 3 seasons for players to see his BS. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Redskins are the Yankees of Football. They regularly overpay and trade away draft picks (which equals young talent) in hopes of building a winning team through free agency. When you stock your team full of superstars (ego heads) there is no continuity, no building and no teamwork. They will never win a championship with this approach.
  12. Peerless was never used downfield in this offense. He was used primarily as a possession type receiver. Possession receivers always have lower YPC. Next year with more development from JP and improved line play you can expect to see Peerless with 700-900 yards receiving. JP tended to look downfield first for Evans and then look below for Price. With a good O-line I think we'll see PP stretch the field more. I'm very comfortable with him at #2 wideout.
  13. On Marv's watch I think luxury picks are a thing of the past. I would love to have an offensive FB (one that gains yardage on passes and runs) but I think this years draft will focus on a CB and the lines.
  14. Couldn't agree more with you. Jason Peters is the best lineman Buffalo has had in a decade. The fact that JP or Lee didn't make the list either is hilarious. Lee's 3rd season, 1st as the #1 WR on a team that ranks near the bottom on passing offense and he ranks 6th in the NFL currently, gets overlooked, fugging great. JP should be a candidate for most improved player. He also had a breakout season and overcame more critics than supporters.
  15. Offense- Losman Evans Price (will have much higher production when JP develops a bit more and looks off his primary more often) Reed/Parrish combo Royal gets props, Cieslak may be the future TE/FB however Peters Fowler Offensive MVP is JP Losman Defense- Schobel Fletcher K.Williams for a great rookie year Ko Simpson Nate Clements Defensive MVP, it's a tie between Fletcher and Ellison Team MVP is JP Losman, the kid came out on top after being served a heaping pile of adversity. He will be a great NFL QB.
  16. Philip Rivers and Tom Brady have more in common than most. Both inherited amazing teams with great players and coaches. If even 1 of them ever has to experience even an inkling of adversity I'd be real surprised. Same goes for Romo. What's great about players like these is their personal meltdowns on the sidelines when 1 little thing goes wrong. (See Peyton Mannings post game speech to the media after last years playoff loss, I believe he was sacked 5 or 6 times and blamed the whole line for the poor day) At least JP has been down in the dumps and had some BS around him at times, he's a much stronger player for having experienced such.
  17. I was honestly expecting that same picture of Peter Pan that makes its way onto TBD every 3 days or so.
  18. Bowen and Youboty definitley need to play more, they most likely will be retained and need to develop a presence on this team.
  19. I can't stand the entire Manning family. Complete douchebags, all of 'em. I used to like Ely, sort of a sympathy didn't get much attention type of thing. Screw that now. Eli Manning is what Ashlee Simpson is to Jessica Simpson (Peyton).
  20. LOL are you really dumb enough to think that the Jets D-line is so bad that they are the only team that the Bills can run against? I'm pretty sure that there are far worse teams than the Jets run defense the last 3 years. The original poster is right, Willis only gets up for the Jets because he's trying to outplay Vilma. This just demonstrates how much of an idiot he is, team means nothing, just play well and talk tons of sh_t against an old friend. That's Willis' only motivation.
  21. 1 throwaway game in week 17 is enough to evaluate young talent? What makes you think that young talent is going to be any more motivated than the veterans?
  22. Thank you, very well spoken. Anyone who thinks differently is a tard.
  23. lol Deion, that's some funny stuff SACTO, appreciate the sarcasm
  24. defend Willis all you want, what game was it this year when afterwards he was unaware of his team's (Bills) record? that sais enough right there
  25. Levy needs to let Rosenhaus hype him up beyond all belief, even give Drew R. a bit of indication that they will work together. Let other teams also get excited about willis. Then bam, trade him for a 1st or 2nd, or both picks from a desperate and stupid team. Willis McGahee is not consistent enough, he is a fair weather player. He is not a true Buffalo Bill.
