  1. The guy on the bubble is Will James. All I could find about his contract was from Clump, and he's making just $750K this year and apparently got no signing bonus. However what may happen is that the Bills could keep 6 DB's and maybe go with 6 LB's (putting Buggs or Costanza on the PS), and look to trade James.

With that contract just cut him. Ashton has never been a liability on the field IMO. He just hasnt been on the field much

  2. STEELERS SHOPPING LINEMEN?

Posted by Mike Florio on August 30, 2008, 12:14 p.m.

As they ponder their final roster cuts, the Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly are pondering the possibility of shipping one of their backup offensive linemen out of town via a trade.

Per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers are considering trading tackle Max Starks, center Sean Mahan, or tackle Trai Essex.

The mere fact that Starks would even be close to the trading block highlights the poor decision to use the transition tag on Starks, which gave him a guaranteed salary of nearly $7 million this year. For roughly $500,000 more, they could have forced Alan Faneca to stay for another year — or at least have gotten something for him in trade from a team like the Jets.

Mahan was the starting center in 2007, but lost his job to newcomer Justin Hartwig.

Meanwhile, the Steelers already have decided to release receiver Willie Reid and return specialist Eddie Drummond.

    Thought that was interesting...

  3. will edwards be the next great qb in buffalo, yes, he has the uncanny ability to b 3 steps ahead of the defense and will have the intuition similar to manning and brady, brady had patten, brown and wiggins as his three guys in 01, in his 3rd year they added branch and he broke out, expect to see that from edwards with parrish and hardy being involved in a hight tempo passing attack similar to what brady was like his firt 3 years or so.

    7 TDS 8 INTS

Im hopeful as much as the next Bills fan but that stat needs to improve if we are going to call Edwards elite. O and where the hell did you go to school? Any english teacher would rip you apart. I know its a message baord but this is worse than anything ive ever seen on the board. Rant over have a nice day folks

  4. The Bills aren't going to show Peters a dime until he shows up and takes a physical. For all they know, he weighs about 450, walks with a limp, and would miss the entire 2008 season just getting himself back into shape.

Agreed The Bills have taken the right stance here. If peters had proved he was healthy and shown up to camp with his team like all these other high character guys did, he may have had a new contract by now. The only thing that wiorries me is if Jason peters is like sick or something, no one has heard from him and that is a little discomforting

  5. So I'm on the computer and my kid is watching Robot Chicken, some claymation show from some of the guys that do Family Guy when the have a skit opening to a highschool scene...a bunch of guys are standing in the hallway when one puts a "kick me" sign on another....then a guy in a Bills uniform runs out, tries to kick him and falls right on his a$$..as one of the kids say "F@ck you Scott Norwood you d!ck"

I could not beleive my ears....it's like a second generation dishin on Scott. Thats just wrong!!!

Seth Green does that show never been a fan of him JMO

  6. This country is in deep trouble. We need something new. Anybody who watched that speech and was not impressed is either lying to him/herself, or totally insane. The guy has accomplished more with his short life than anybody I have ever met. I have quite a few friends who are republicans and I think they are very intelligent. I don't know much about politics, apparently. All I know is that gas is triple what it was when GW took over, the deficit is ridiculous, we are fighting a war we shouldn't have started, and I make less money now than I did 8 years ago. If that makes GW a great president, then so be it. I think it's time to give somebody else a chance. McCain is insane, I think his first day in office he would push a button and make Vietnam go away.

i know its the wrong board but i am personally a republican but i believe Bush has done a terrible job but im still going to vote for mccain. Mccain has never shown himself to be off the wagon and crazy i feel like he would be a safe choice. Something about a man that REFUSES to say the pledge of allegiance and schooled in muslim schooling makes me a little nervous, thats just me. Incase your wondering thats Obama im talking about

  7. i just got back home from the giants-patriots game and the patsies got killed again.i left early in the 4th when the patsies scored their 1st td.overall the giants had their way with the patsies on both sides of the ball......that david carr pickup for the giants didnt look bad either.i thought david played well.......go bills!

Edwards, Losman won't play exhibition finale

Barring a change of plans, the Buffalo Bills intend to keep both quarterbacks Trent Edwards and J.P. Losman on the sidelines for their Thursday night exhibition season finale against the Detroit Lions.

Third-stringer Gibran Hamdan is expected to start at quarterback and play the entire game, a league source told ESPN.com. Edwards is nursing a deep right quadriceps bruise suffered in a collision with running back Marshawn Lynch during a recent practice. Losman, Edwards' primary backup, also is expected to be sidelined as he recovers from a sore thumb.

Edwards and Lynch are being held out just as a precaution as the Bills prepare for their Sept. 7 regular season home opener against the Seattle Seahawks

The Croisen one has take his throne

Is JP gonna back him up tonight barring Injury?

  10. Patriots Sink...is that another new item available on NFLShop.com?

Not yet but im ure it will be. just one more thing for John Clayton to suck on

Mods we should really have a patriots* Ballwashing smiley. This would be a useful time for it

  11. I know we all strive and hope for the Bills winning the Super Bowl every year, but would this scenario - a Wild Card birth and first round loss - be acceptable this year?

    Thoughts?

Like one poster siad depends on hwo it happens. i will always be proud to be a bills fan no matter what product walks onto that field every sunday but i still expect greatness from my team. If they go down fighting and make themselves a name to be a physical and scary team you dont want to meet ill be happy. but hey ill take that super bowl ring anyday

  12. Trent needs work. He's had very little game time in pre-season. If he can't go tomorrow, he's entering week one with a long layoff game-wise.

That does worry me a little. The Bills need a fast start this season we cant afford our usual take 3 games to get ready and alot of that depends on Edwards i think

  13. Trent Edwards is the guy DJ wants to run the offense. He's smart, and for a rookie last year had a tremendous ability to look for open receivers. JP is out of here at the end of the season and we will need another QB. If Edwards has an awful year and we are in a position to draft Tim Tebow would you take him? The guy reminds me a Steve Young having a great arm and runs like a half back-full back hybrid. Thoughts?

Hamdan (i Believe anyway) is being groomed to be the backup next year unless JP decides to come back and from what ive seen of Hamdan he can handle that role

  14. ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Pro Bowl defensive end Aaron Schobel signed a contract extension with the Buffalo Bills on Friday that is potentially worth about $50.5 million over the seven-year deal.

The deal includes $20 million in guaranteed money and locks Schobel up through 2013, extending his current contract for four additional years. The new deal was reached after Schobel earned his first Pro Bowl selection last season, and now makes him the team's highest-paid player.

"Obviously, I had three years left on my deal so they didn't have to do anything ... so it's good: It's good for both of us," Schobel said after the Bills 28-17 preseason loss to Tennessee. "I like it here. This is my kind of style. I'm a small-town guy. I like the organization, I like the fans."

The 29-year-old Schobel has been a regular starter since his rookie season, after the Bills selected him in the second round of the 2001 draft out of Texas.

He's coming off a career year in which he finished third in the league with 14 sacks. That tied him with Bruce Smith for the fourth-highest single-season total by a Bills player and was the third time Schobel had reached double digits.

"We're trying to keep our good players, and one of the ways you do that is you go to them early and work out deals in order to keep your own," Bills vice president Jim Overdorf said. "Hopefully, Aaron finishes his career as a Buffalo Bill. That was one of his objectives in this, too."

Schobel had three years left on his previous contract, a five-year deal worth about $23 million that included a $6.75 million signing bonus. He was to make $8 million in base salary over the final three seasons, including $2.5 million this year.

With 60½ career sacks, Schobel is third in team history -- one behind Phil Hansen -- and is one of just 15 active NFL players (including Giants holdout Michael Strahan) with that many. Since 2003, only Miami's Jason Taylor, with 48 sacks, has had more than Schobel's 45½.

Schobel said he approached the Bills in seeking a new deal.

"That was my argument the whole time: 'Look what I've done. I think I should be paid for what I've done.' And obviously, they stepped up and did it," Schobel said.

He said the size of the deal doesn't add any pressure on him.

"That's the one thing, I don't want be overpaid and I don't want to be underpaid. That's my motivation," Schobel said.

Poor Peters I know what he's thinking " they paid Schobel and I dominate that chump everyday in practice" but he doesn't understand, Schobel is an undersized blue collar high motor type player who deserved to get a new contract while Peters is one of those physically dominate players who gets by on his vast natural talent and is lucky to get anything.

Schobel also appeared to be at camp  . That has been the bills stance come to camp and we will talk until that happens this is all on peters
