Buddy had him for two years. If he did trade for him you would have to think he liked how he was developing The chargers kept him aroung for three years so he is not a total bust. that said , starting qb material who the hell really knows , has anyone seen if play one down in the nfl

Gil Brandt was on Siruis Nfl radio this morning and dropped a few tidbits about this years Tackle class. He said he thought both A davis and Buluga are Right tackles in the Nfl. He also bashed Campbell , bascially saying he ws no were worthy of a high draft pick. If he is correct this throws a big monkey wrench in the thought that the left tackle would come from this draft class. In addition Pat Kirwin kind of dismissed both qbs as fran kaliber.

I think the article today is a pretty good guess at what is coming are way. Lots of holes and no obvious Qb solution . Fix as much as you can this offseason and take a run at the Qb situation after the new labor agreement . It took a long time to run this thing down it is going to take more then one offseason to put it back together . That said Trent had the team 5-1 last year before he had is head bashed in . 10-6 seasons are always within reach but there is a lot of work to be done to make deep playoff runs.

I think they switched to the pistol after everything else failed. I think he will be looking to build a more traditional offense . He did say he he wanted a big arm and running was a key . Personally I am against gimmicks they tend to have a short shelf life

Putting together /upgrading the offensive line and actually running a nfl caliber offense will be a big impovement in itself and something that could easily happen

how about starter and mentor to brohm Clear out edwards and fitz and go in the pennington ,brohm next year \ Cleary if something dynamic comes along jump on it but this off season in not shaping up as one were we are going to hit a home run at the Qb position

the future in the nfl is the next season. you keep builing through the draft and then put the best pieces together you can and win as many games as you can. Pennington would prob offer us the best chance to win games next year.

wrong wrong wrong. Pennington played most of his career in the worst wind staduim in the league. He was Never known for his arm strenth even before the injuries. He has one of the best comp ratios in the hostory of the nfl and oh yeah he wins games. Perfect long tern solution , hell no, good qb for the a could of years oh yeah
