  1. How come there seem to be so many prominent Pats* talking heads? I'm sure winning has something (perhaps a good bit) to do with it, but I also think it may have something to do with Kraft pulling some weight with the networks (including NFLN, which he was one of the main backers of, along with Jerrah). I wouldn't put it past them to try packing the airwaves with folks who will glorify their image. Same goes for tonight's NFLN Belicheat* special that's been hyped on the network all month. A little added effort to rehabilitate a team and coach whose image took a big self-inflicted (and well-deserved, IMHO) hit due to Spygate.....
  2. Ross Tucker in his column (which I miss, BTW--where are you now, Ross?), said something to that effect, too, a year or so ago. Said it was the most family-like atmosphere of the teams he'd played for (Pats*, 'Skins and 'Pukes, IIRC)....
  3. He was awful last night. He and Carroll stunk up the joint....
  4. If we can beat them* in 2 weeks wouldn't that be great, Danny?
  5. Bills 24, Chiefs 17. Matt Cassel doesn't finish the game. (For the record, I'm not rooting for this, but simply predicting this will happen.)
  6. RIP, Lee Roy, you were a great player and from what I'm reading elsewhere, a great human being as well. A bit disgusting that ESPN doesn't even really seem to be noting this prominently at all on it's NFL page, but then again, I guess Lee Roy should have known better than to not play in New York, Boston, Chicago or LA. I can still remember Lee Roy and his brother playing--man, am I old....
  7. I would feel the same way normally, too, but for the several stories I read last year of people who'd seen him around (one guy here worked out at the same gym, for ex.) and they made him sound like a jerk....
  8. What do all those last teams you mention have in common? They're in some of the biggest and richest markets in sports. Might have something to do with their owners pumping new $ into them....
  9. He killed us last time we played them, IIRC. Too bad for him and the Chiefs, however. WTF was Haley thinking playing his starters as late as he did?
  10. On Brandon, I have a friend who's in a position to know who's told me that it's pretty clear to him that Brandon has ingratiated himself with Wilson and his family and that's what he owes his survivability to, FWIW....
  11. Racist much? Even so, please get it right--that's a derogatory term for Japanese, not Chinese....
  12. I did a similar analysis a year or so ago on the fact that we played the Pats* after their bye something like 4 years in a row. Came out to something like 4000 to one odds. Remember, too, that in those years we were actually often seen as the most likely interdivision rival to them (ahh, the good old days).....
  13. Brian Waters at RG for a year or two would make me very happy....
  14. Unmotivated? Even after being cut? I doubt that highly. I also think he should be able to drop 30-40 pounds by week 2 or 3 of the season, also long enough for him to learn our O. Only reason not to do this is cash, plain and simple......
  15. Is McKinnie still available? Even if out of shape, he should be able to work himself back into shape by week 3 or so....
  16. Same as it ever was.....
  17. RobGuy and one of the other posters backing him up (starts with a Z) wrote In a similar style and had no other posts in the last year. You make the call....
  18. Check their posting history--two of them have only posted in this thread during the past year. Just sayin'.....
  19. No, but was it just me, or was there a whiff of homoerotic vibe in that story.....
  20. Link? Source?
  21. Yup--unfortunately I think you're right here....
  22. Ding, ding, ding---we have a winner! Right you are, sir!
