I don't care who the QB is, you only get 3 seasons, at most, from me & then I'm ready to ship you out. I gave up on Rob, JP, Drew & I'm preparing for Edwards sayonara. The one thing I've learned from all these fiascos-the Bills scouts don't know spit about QB evaluation. Every time we get our next savior, he spits the bed. Those excuse makers, for whoever, are all wet. The coaches haven't ruined anyone-they sucked when they got here & they sucked when they left. Now Trent looked good against bad teams at the start of last season, but the only thing he's proven so far is he'll never make it through a 16 game season. He's the anti-Manning (either one). To all you posters who are afraid a QB will come back to "haunt us" (I still can't believe some of the JP hangers on are still predicting a successful return from the UFL & citing Jim Fassell's coaching as a reason), only 1 jettisoned QB came back to haunt us in the 50 year history of the franchise. Give it up already, time to dip back into the QB pool-I hope Nix makes a difference in this selection.

Two dropped kicks away from being 5-2
Albany,n.y. replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were tied with Cleveland when Roscoe gave them the game. Nothing indicated that the Bills were ever going to score again and win it. So at best 4-2-1 -
I hate to say this, but the team just looks better with Edwards out. This doesn't mean Fitzpatrick is any good, it just means Edwards has really sucked this year since game 3. It sort of reminds me of when Edwards replaced Losman. You knew he was better than JP, but in reality it was just because JP was so bad.

For the 1st 3 quarters if he's not playing QB-no. I don't know what happens in the 4th quarter when the 3rd QB can play.

They're all sellouts. How do you think they get campaign contributions-quid pro quo-always has been, always will. Nobody gets the Presidential nomination of a major party without doing a lot of selling out. The reason the Republicans aren't in charge is because the economy tanked so badly on their watch, it didn't matter what Obama was saying. It all goes back to James Carville's "It's the economy, stupid." People will always vote the party in charge out in a bad economy (and even if they have nothing to do with it, it doesn't matter to the voters), because if you can't put food on the table nothing else really matters-including which crook is paying his taxes & which crook isn't. The country isn't moving away from the 2 parties fast enough, we're still a long way away from seeing a President who is neither a Democrat nor a Republican. Getting independents elected on a local, or even occasionally on a state level, is still quite different than getting someone in the White House.

The Felser article on the front page where he writes that Jauron has stated Edwards doesn't answer or return his calls, if it is true, shows how ridiculous this team has become under Jauron. How can a player with Edwards' record act like a primadonna? Would a competent coach put up with such nonsense? It looks like we need a new QB & a new coach before we're ever going to be a winner. If it's true, both those guys are losers.

No! They pitch Andy Pettitte and try to close the series out Sunday, with CC as an insurance policy for Monday and if they win Sunday, the opening game starter on Wednesday. I don't think they want to use CC Sunday & not have him available to start WS game 1.

Potential QB Controversy--Fitzpatrick over Edwards
Albany,n.y. replied to AF88Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no tough decision-Trent is probably out until after the bye. If Fitzpatrick wins the next 2 games, he's the starter-not just this game, but he must continue to play well against Houston. By the way, hitting 40%, like he did against the Jets and winning the game because the Jets coach out-buffooned Jauron doesn't instill a lot of confidence that Fitzpatrick will blow us away two weeks in a row to win the job. He's much more likely to just blow, than to blow us away. -
Yes, it does! Look at our schedule, so far we've had a different offensive line just about every week.

After missing out on World Series tickets, I went to Stub Hub from the Yankees site & bought a ticket for game 1 of the World Series. If they don't get in, I'll get a refund. I'm going to drive down to Poughkeepsie & go down on the train. So, all you Yankee haters, suck it! Go Yankees!

Sam Bradford done for the season
Albany,n.y. replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trent Edwards hasn't played much different in cold weather, he's been up & down regardless of the weather. So Mark Sanchez, after one game can't play in cold weather? So Matt Leinart WHO PLAYS IN ARIZONA (super hot weather & in a dome when needed) has proven he can't play in cold weather? -

Out of the 1st round-if he clears the doctors you are sooooooo wrong. Jim Kelly's college career ended in game 3 of his senior year-the Bills drafted him in the 1st round! Here's some stuff I found about his senior year: The next step in Kelly’s football career was the NFL draft. Experts predicted Kelly to be one of the top ranked quarterbacks in the draft. During Kelly’s senior season at Miami, however, he suffered a serious shoulder injury. The injury forced Kelly to sit out the rest of his senior season and cast doubt on his ability to bounce back and perform well in the NFL. Despite these doubts, the Buffalo Bills selected Kelly as the 14th overall pick. If there were ever questions about the resolve of Kelly, it was laid to rest in his senior season at Miami. "Ironically, we were playing Virginia Tech, which, of course, is also an ACC team now," he said. "I suffered a major shoulder injury in that game and had to have surgery. "When I was waking up from the surgery, the surgeon was there. He said, `Jim, I hope you studied.' I asked him why. He told me that when they went in, they found out that the injury was a lot worse than they had expected, and that he had had to put three metal rods into my shoulder. "He said that I'd never have the range of motion with that arm that I had before and that it had probably ended my career as a quarterback." When Kelly shared the news with one of his five brothers in a phone call from his hospital room, there came more advice. "Don't ever let anybody tell you want you can't do. Do you understand?" one of his older siblings grumbled. Kelly apparently listened. He was yet to become one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. -

Didn't the Bills once draft a QB who had a major shoulder injury in college? His shoulder held up ok. -
The Browns love former Bills TEs
Albany,n.y. replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've never seen two more fundamentally unsound TEs as Royal & Gaines in Bills history. Cleveland is in for a long(er) season of dropped passes & bonehead plays. Gaines always seemed to be doing something stupid when it counted the most, and Royal always was Mr Incomplete when it was needed the most. -
The USFL made the late 80s/early 90s Bills successful
Albany,n.y. replied to timstep's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great article. The only line I disagree with you on is the one that Kelly might not have signed with the Bills. He was in the Bills' office when the USFL called and told him not to do anything yet. Without that call he might have even signed with the Bills that day. I've always thought that no matter what Jim Kelly said at the time, his biggest objection to signing with Buffalo was he didn't want to spend a year or two on the bench behind Joe Ferguson, when he could play right away in the USFL. -
Tonight on ESPN (8pm) : Who Killed the USFL?
Albany,n.y. replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reason the UFL can't draw fans is they have no clue what they're doing. Outside of Las Vegas, the other franchises are too close to NFL teams for people to spend close to major league prices for minor league football. Why would anyone in NY pay $50 to sit on the sidelines of a minor league football game? Ditto for San Francisco-both cities have two teams, why did the UFL put teams in those 2 places? Even the Orlando team is too close to the Tampa Bay Bucs & even is playing one game in far too close St Petersburg at Tropicana Field. Making things worse, the NY team plays each of its home games in a different stadium. One is at Giants Stadium, one at Citifield, which is designed for baseball, not football & one is at Rentschler Field in East Hartford Ct. Marketing has been horrible. Until a few weeks ago, individual game tickets weren't yet available. You can't get much, if any coverage in the newspapers, the NYC papers have basically ignored the UFL. The only thing I saw was a point spread listing for their games in the NY Post. Do any of these teams have any local radio coverage? I haven't seen anything in the NY papers about the Sentinals games on the radio, I doubt they have a broadcast. The league is a joke. Sure some guys like K Graham Gano will find a job in the NFL next season, if not sooner, but the talent level is has beens and never beens. The best QB in the league is Brooks Bollinger, who has washed out with 3 NFL teams. 2nd best QB of 4 is JP. -
She's currently on Showtime's Californication, she's gone downhill big time. There are many actreses her age & older who look a lot better than she does. You'd think in a profession so based on looks, she would have taken better care of herself. Kathleen Turner 2009: http://www.wireimage.com/celebrities/kathleen-turner

I've never seen a QB benched with a 10 point lead, that's what the Jets went into the 2nd half with. Do you realize that the garbage behind Sanchez is worse than Sanchez? Kellen Clemens is an outright bust & Eric Ainge & Kevin O'Connell ain't any better. Since Ryan really had no alternative, he had little choice but to hope to win with Sanchez playing badly and get the win in spite of him, while giving him valuable experience-it almost worked. If Ryan cost them the game, it was by having Sanchez continue to throw instead of relying on his running game. Even when the Bills were stacking the line, the Jets still were getting a big gain running every once in a while. Ryan should have let his running backs win the game, not Sanchez lose it.

His salary is still way too high for a punt returner. That's why nobody wants to trade for his current contract. If he gets released, he'll be snapped up at a much lower base salary than he has right now.

Anyone hear if the Bills plan to send film on

The stadium was not "half empty", unless you were counting later on when people had enough of the cold & went home.

The reason why trent edwards will never be good
Albany,n.y. replied to jax bill backer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Losman is mediocre in a league where Brooks Bollinger looks like Joe Montana. HTF is that improvement?
