Aaron Rodgers to the Jets for 2 first round picks?
Low Positive replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
What malpractice by the Packers front office to let Rodgers talk them into that massive deal and having to take a massive cap his just one season later. -

The cost to the Packers from a cap standpoint would be huge https://overthecap.com/looking-ahead-to-the-packers-options-with-aaron-rodgers -
Bills will not make it to the playoffs in 2023?

I just looked it up. The dead cap hit from trading Rodgers is MASSIVE so I get the demand for high draft compensation. -

He's going to the Jets. It completes the Brett Favre circle. -
That's what the Bengals did. At the beginning of the year, Burrow was holding the ball waiting for Chase or Higgins to get downfield and was getting sacked at a high rate. He was sacked 5 times by the Browns on Halloween night. They shifted to the quick game that we all saw on Sunday and they feel unstoppable. It was a wholesale shift in offensive philosophy made midseason to mitigate poor OL play.

I give Sean McDermott a lot of credit of turning this franchise around. My main complaint is that McDermott's teams lack a physical dimension that you need to win in the playoffs. The Bengals just came into our house and punched the Bills and the whole city of Buffalo in the mouth. The team needs some more guys that play with an edge and push the rules right up to the limit, and I'm afraid that McDermott's emphasis on culture will not allow this need to be addressed. As much as we all hate him, a Christian Wilkins type of player would go a long way, but he wouldn't fit the "process."

When will we adjust to playoff football
Low Positive replied to wvbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Except they called PI and holding on the Bills in this game in some pretty key spots. I get that the Bills played badly enough that complaining about the refs seems futile, but the fact that their backups on OL didn't have a single offensive holding call defies belief. -
Eli Apple is a UFA after this year. The Bills could sign him, because I'm sure that the Bengals won't. He is not a good CB. But I do agree with you about the Bills needing some nastiness on their team. Too many of what Larry Bird termed "milk drinkers."

I don’t even agree with myself anymore…

This had to come from the coaching staff. The Bengals were in a post-Hamlin funk like the Bills. They manufactured outrage about being wronged by the league and the Bills to get their killer instinct back. It worked so well that the whole city is frothing at the mouth.
-
And we had a Bengals fan in here saying that they are just a bunch of good dudes that love to play ball.
-
Apple is doing this because he knows that his trash talk caused this response from Stef. Diggs need to work with a sport’s psychological this off-season to learn how to deal with the taunting and trash talk. Jaire Alexander taught the league that Diggs and Davis have thin skin.

No!!!! I can’t take three more weeks of Bengals hype around here. Let them get crushed by KC.

The loss still stings and we won’t get to watch the Bills play again for 6 months.

ECHL teams have dollar beer night on Wednesday.

Let the Sabres make the Playoffs and then get back to me.

Frazier can’t be fired because his contract expires after this season. He can, however, not be renewed.

This is probably true. So then if the Bills bring in another WR Diggs will just get more angry because his targets will go down. But I just went and read the Tweets. He didn't really say anything bad. He's just mad that they lost. He refers to "out level of play," which includes himself. I don't like him leaving either, but he was probably really worked up and felt it better to extract himself from the situation. I've done that before to stop myself from saying things that I would regret later.

I’m sure, but the schadenfreude has to be strong.

I think the additional context to this is that Eli Apple was trash talking him all game. He’s pretty easy to rile up, as we saw in the Packers game. He wanted the ball to rub it in Apple’s face but he never got it. He was worked up from the start of the game. He yelled at Josh on the field for throwing a ball too low on the second drive of the game.

Vikings fans are all probably like “we told you so” right about now.

It’ll have to be Dorsey. The cap hit on trading Diggs is simply too high.

Comfortably ensconced in Indy? He was fired mid season. I’m sure he would like to work again.
