  1. You gotta think with the ego of an NFL coach. Ken Dorsey thinks he's responsible for Josh's development. He thinks that his best path to an NFL head coaching job is to just work his magic on Daniel Jones. After all, he's the quarterback whisperer.
  2. I live in Cincinnati, so I'm going to Costco on Sunday at 3:00. No lines.
  3. Burrow and Herbert are more traditional picket passers who had success at the college level. They both throw a very pretty ball and run traditional NFL offenses. Coaches and GMs understand how they are doing what they are doing, so they can project that success going forward. Burrow gets love from fans because people saw him dominate in college. Also, people don't have to admit that they were wrong in praising Burrow; he was a can't-miss prospect who is making everyone's projections come to fruition. Even after what he did in those two playoff games, a lot of people can't believe what they are seeing with Josh. It defies everything they know about scouting and player development. They say that you can't teach accuracy. Well, he's well over 60% now and he threw only 4 incomplete passes in a playoff game. Even the way he players defies belief. He can run like Cam but he throws like Mahomes. This should not be possible. So, in order to admit that Josh is better than BUrrow or Herbert NFL scouts and GM's would have to admit that the entire way that they scout and evaluate players is wrong. Think about it from their point of view. If you are a GM or a coach on a team that needs a QB, do you want to think that the path to success is to take the top QB in the SEC or PAC12, or go out and find a unicorn and hope he develops?
  4. Right after the game, I thought that this was the worst loss in our history. But, upon further reflection, it’s not even close. To me, the worst losses were whatever game knocked us from playoff contention for 18 straight years. And before the Kelly teams 1984 and 1985 were even worse. We were the worst team in the NFL. The stadium was empty and people wore bags on their heads. As a kid, sitting in Rich Stadium in September 1984 watching us get beat by the Vikings in Kay Stevenson’s last game as coach was far worse than Sunday night because things felt so hopeless.
  5. Burrow has a really sarcastic sense of humor, and some of that boasting that rubs people the wrong way is done tongue in cheek.
  6. The difference in 2006 is that the the AFC Championship was played in Indianapolis. We need to get them at home next time.
  7. I want the Chiefs to win this one and lose the next one for personal reasons. I live in Cincinnati and the next two weeks would be unbearable knowing that it should have been us.
  8. The problem with that comparison is that there was no other team in the AFC at that time on the level of KC. This is starting to get a Brady/Manning feel to it.
  9. I know that we can’t enjoy it, but this is a really good football game.
  10. do they hold up the start of our game until this one is over?
  11. I hate the Rams yellow pants. I keep thinking that the refs threw a flag.
  12. Thanks. I just went and watched the McKelvin fumbled punt against KC in 2014. Fun times indeed.
  13. Motor dropped an easy screen pass early in the game with a lot of green in front of him. He rarely saw the ball after that.
  14. We all care a lot about something over which we have no control.
  15. Coaching experience matters a lot more in football than in baseball.
  16. The predictions in this thread are interesting. For one, I don’t think any other fan base in the NFL would have as many people pick against their own team as the Bills. And I’m right there with you all. I have a hard time trusting this team because of a lifetime of disappointment. Secondly, fans and analysts want certainty. They want to analyse matchups and players and predict the outcome. Both games yesterday show that you can’t really do that in the NFL. People will blame Tannehill because of the three INTs on the stat sheet, but that game ending interception hit the receiver right in the hands and popped straight up. And SF won on a blocked punt in the snow. It just goes to show that winning a SB requires a good deal of luck. All they being said, my picks for today Rams- that pass rush is just too much for Brady to handle with a hobbled OL Bills- what do I get for picking against them? I will say that I would never bet on this game because I just don’t know.
  17. But how many of those instances were teams that beat the Chiefs pre-Mahomes and then lost to Tom Brady in New England?
  18. Very true, but also by my rough estimation looking at the video above Josh's ball gets there a full second faster. Mac's took three mississippis and Josh's took two mississippis.
  19. That PI on Cincinnati to keep the last Raiders drive alive was a pretty big call.
