  1. also in the list should be the Rutgers LT, Anthony Davis, a junior. Scouts Inc has his as the 2nd best left tackle prospect (since Trent Williams is a mediocre pass blocker)
  2. yeah. I've seen Bulaga anywhere from mid 1st to top of the 2nd. Scouts Inc. has him 25th overall and the 5th best tackle - but Trent Williams may be a right tackle only, so that makes Bulaga potentially more valuable. They have Morgan 5th overall. If Bulaga's coming out as a junior though that leads me to believe that he's pretty certain he's going in the 1st round at some point. all these rankings can change very quickly - as they do every year
  3. Both are legit possibilities for us in the first round and they'll be one-on-one tonight on the big stage. Bulaga - a top left tackle prospect for Iowa, 6'6, 312 Morgan - a top defensive end for Georgia Tech, 6'4, 268, 4.5 40 supposedly - freak of nature type both are juniors and both are expected to declare for the draft
  4. I'm of the opinion that stumbling upon even good NFL quarterbacks has mostly to do with luck and numbers. Billick fielded top notch teams for years with trash at the games most important position. They ran the ball and physically dominated the opposition. If you don't have the stud QB, that's the only way you can win.
  5. I would be happy with Billick. He has a reputation for arrogance but there is no doubt about his ability to assemble a great staff and field VERY competitive teams despite lackluster QB talent. His teams could run the ball and win. His teams were physically dominant on both sides of the ball. If you don't have the great QB, that's the only you can make the playoffs. He not only did that he won a Superbowl.
  6. he's an UFA unless there is a new CBA, and then he's a RFA... or something like that http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/01/04/b...ree-agent-list/ Unrestricted free agents Ryan Denney Chris Draft Todd Johnson Seth McKinney Terrell Owens Josh Reed Bryan Scott Kendall Simmons UFAs that will be RFAs w/no new labor deal Keith Ellison Gibran Hamdan Richie Incognito Joe Klopfenstein George Wilson Ashton Youboty Normal Restricted free agents Derek Schouman Jonathan Scott Exclusive rights free agents Marcus Buggs Jon Corto Christian Gaddis Justice Hairston Cary Harris Jonathan Stupar
  7. Owens, Reed and Bryan Scott are the only ones to seriously consider re-signing to market deals. I doubt Owens comes back - I see him as a Redskin next year and all parties being ok with that. Simmons or McKinnie could get crap contracts to see if they can stick as depth.
  8. it seems every year we say that there are x number of top prospects, and that number is invariably one less than wherever we happen to be drafting. I think its more a product of fan psychology than anything else.
  9. somehow a man with a beard several inches taller than Poz doesn't really remind me of a little kid. he does look anorexic out on the field though. the new strength and conditioning coach needs to start feeding that cat some cheezburgers.
  10. changes things a little, not much. The boss is saying: you better start looking for a new job. Its basically the same effect without jumping through legal hoops if the new guy wants to keep a few of them.
  11. yeah, I don't think either of those things are all that shocking.
  12. I'm not saying he sucks. I wouldn't mind at all if the new guy rehires him. I'm just saying he had a pretty bad year. We hold the other coaches accountable for how their players on the field perform, but not April?
  13. we really need to temper our April love. The ST's sucked for most of the year. In fact without several of their blunders its actually possible we could have been in serious wildcard contention even without an offense to speak of.
  14. a new coach is going to want to decide who stays who goes. he could decide to rehire some of these people.
  15. if Mallet declares you could add him in there as well. the tackles there seem to be the weakest of the bunch - Trent Williams (more of a RT) and Campbell particularly. I haven't seen Campbell as a top 10 pick anywhere up to this point. I've seen mocks that have us take Bulaga in the 2nd round. Eric Berry will definitely go before our pick so that will help us.
  16. "Adam_Schefter Perry Fewell interviews for the Buffalo head coaching job Monday; Charlie Weis will not be the Bills next head coach." no surprise about Fewell. Relieved about Weis. He's garbage as a head coach, imo.
  17. so are you willing to use a top-10 pick on him? a 2nd rounder?
  18. is it clear at this point that Modrak and Guy are staying on?
  19. I'd say Ron Rivera would be an excellent candidate need a great OC though if we go defensive head coach
  20. the question isn't whether Tebow is worthy of getting a shot, its when its worth it to draft him. The problem is that he will be overdrafted so that means if we want him on the team we have to draft him WAY too early. too many posters that love Tebow talk about his throwing mechanics as if they can be easily corrected. They just can't be. Most likely he's been trying to correct his mechanics for three+ years and its still not up to NFL caliber - as Jimmy Johnson and many many NFL folks have said. He'll likely be a turnover machine in the NFL if he can't correct it. Also he's just not fast enough to be a major threat in the running game like a Vince Young. He's kind of like a David Garrard but with Leftwitchesque mechanics and Penningtonesque arm strength.
  21. tell Brandon, hopefully Nix will only be focused on the people wearing the uniform.
  22. I'd be interested in Troy Smith and Jason Campbell. Maybe Bulger as a 1 year stop gap to make way for a rookie. I doubt Orton sees the open market. Really its hard to name a QB that anyone has heard of that wouldn't possibly be an upgrade (ok, Jon Kitna)
