  1. dress as warmly as possible. 10 AM should be early enough to go wherever you want to go. There is tailgating everywhere.
  2. you should not post any information about this on the internet
  3. yeah, its left tackle in the first for me unless one of the stud QBs is still on the board. I don't think that's likely though.
  4. I'll give you that we should have a number of very capable interior linemen, but tackle, especially left tackle, remains a huge question mark.
  5. I don't care that he's from Buffalo. The Bears have had pretty solid drafts with very few high picks. Reese seems like he's is a million years old (and BTW he's never won anything either). Lombardi is only popular because he's in media and he's outspoken.
  6. I just can't think of many pro personnel moves that the Giants have made in recent years. Though not letting critical talent walk is a big deal in itself.
  7. he's my favorite QB too. but he did have Golden Tate to throw to, who is a great receiver who made a lot of acrobatic catches. but even that shows Claussen trusts his receivers.
  8. I agree that any QB we may draft, regardless of how high, we need to bring in a solid vet (as solid as qb's that are available goes). Unfortunately that quality is capped pretty low. this logic, though totally true as to fan/media impatience, would make it tough to ever get a great QB and as a result really make it tough to ever be a dominant team for any extended period of time. Unfortunately the only way you get a great QB is through the draft because they don't hit free agency (minus rare aberrations). And having a great QB is the single greatest determinant of success in today's NFL. You can luck out by stumbling upon a Tom Brady or Kurt Warner, but those are exceptions to the general rule. The best QBs in the league were overwhelmingly drafted in the first round and by the team they are still on.
  9. hilarious - I now keep picturing Fassel cold calling teams like Jack Lemon's character in Glengarry Glenn Ross.
  10. he kind of reminds me of a frailer Alex Smith.
  11. They've had a very good track record in their drafts. As for the cover-2, I don't know if the head of college scouting has much sway over what defense the team he works for runs. he scouts and drafts players to fit the roll that the coaches want. Winning is very tough without a star qb. They went to the Superbowl with Rex Grossman on the back of a defense that he largely drafted.
  12. the two that stand out to me: Greg Gabriel, Chicago's head of college scouting last 8 years - Chicago has been largely built through the draft this decade Eric DeCosta, head of Ravens college scouting '03 to '08 and now pro personnel - one of the best organizations when it comes to choosing talent
  13. McShay really doesn't like Claussen. I hope he's right, in that he'll still be there when we draft. I've been very impressed by Claussen despite virtually always wishing that he would fail miserably. McCoy isn't in the same class as a passer.
  14. my favorites, Best Action Movie - Inglourious Basterds Best Drama - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Best Comedy - Knocked Up Documentary - King of Kong biggest disappointments - Star Wars prequels, Indiana Jones IV, Matrix Revolutions definitely feel like I'm forgetting some, decades are long
  15. yep. only upside is maybe he'll be nuts enough to hurt a Patriot in the process. Bellichik might be less willing to pull that stuff then.
  16. probably should change thread title until confirmation. so far just reporting is "serious condition" and head injury
  17. I think the only thing keeping the Pats competitive is Brady and Welker. I honestly believe that the if you removed the QB position, the Bills would be a better team than the Pats this year. Unfortunately, if you have a very good QB you are at a bigger advantage than at any time in the history of football. And just look at the records from this decade - Manning several times nearly going undefeated, Brady going undefeated sans 1, Brees and Manning heading in that direction this year; touchdown and points records. It's no longer a run and stop the run league, it has been made into a pass and stop the pass league.
  18. watched his snaps on NFL Replay in the first half of the game last week. He's a dominant blocker but he loses his mind when run blocking: goes after people, retaliates when things don't go his way after the whistle. I can see why a linebacker wouldn't like him. If he can learn to shut it off at the whistle he'll be golden.
