  1. Well then, the Dems should support securing the border so that people, drugs and guns cannot cross in either direction without proper clearance. You can literally cross into Mexico from Arizona by car without even hitting the brakes at Lukeville on route 85. Have done it myself. There is no Mexican checkpoint at all. Maybe Calderon should think about securing his side.
  2. You have to question the judgment of a man that abandons one party to support such a wacky agenda. It's one thing if you were of that party all along. It's another to look at what the Dems were doing and decide, yes, this is for me. This is what I should support. It's like going to the store to buy a pair of pants and buying one that is yellow and green plaid with some pink spots and leaving your nice blue pair in the dressing room.
  3. Well said. If only we could feel the same way about Willis. We don't because he was a jerk. JP deserves our best wishes.
  4. Janet to me is the most embarrassing cabinet member. A really poor choice by the savior. While Governor in AZ she blamed the Feds for not enforcing the borders and now that she's a Fed she blames AZ for trying to enforce it. Can anyone here defend her?
  5. Obama's got a nice career opportunity in Hollywood in 2013. He's perfectly aligned with the community idealogically and he's a great actor.
  6. I've been wide awake. It's only recently that I believe he does not care about a 2nd term. The part about him being fiscally irresponsible dates back to long before he was President.
  7. I'm starting to believe that Obama cares nothing about fiscal responsibility and is playing this to be a 1-term President. He simply wants to move his agenda forward with no regard for the longer term.
  8. Many are not here to work. Women simply to have babies, drug dealers and other criminals, many that simply come here to take advantage of the social safety net while living with relatives. We shoud be atacking the problem on many fronts - fence, technology, more immigration officers, enforcing labor laws and through diplomacy. Neither party has shown the will to do much. Too bad we couldn't direct some of that stimulus money toward this problem.
  9. Big local story here in Chicago area and it's getting national attention. The parent that was arranging the travel plans was informed of the decision by phone from Superintendent Fornero, but the Superintendent denies publically that it was his decision stating it was his assistant (of course he cannot overrule her). - - - - - After winning its first conference championship in 26 years, the Highland Park High School girls varsity basketball team has been told by the school district that they cannot attend a basketball tournament in Arizona. The players were paying for the trip by selling cookies for months to raise the necessary funds. However, they learned they couldn't go on the trip because of Arizona's new crackdown on illegal immigrants. According to the Chicago Tribune, safety concerns partly fueled the decision, but the trip also "would not be aligned with our beliefs and values," said District 113 Assistant Superintendent Suzan Hebson. She didn't say whose beliefs and values she was talking about in the public school district. Parents of the players and the players themselves are angry over the decision. They are disgusted that the school district is mixing politics and a high school basketball tournament. District 113 Superintendent George Fornero declined to comment to the media claiming it wasn't his decision although he is the chief executive of the district. The board of education employs the Superintendent. Assistant Superintendent Hebson said Arizona is off-limits because of uncertainty about how the new law will be enforced. Hebson didn't explain how the enforcement of the law, which mimics federal law, will affect a group of high school students. Moreover, Arizona proponents of the law have argued that the law will make Arizona safer. The parents had not decided if they will appeal the administration's decision to the school board, which has the power to overrule the superintendent and his assistant.
  10. This is the best comedy I've read all day and this has been an above average day for comedy.
  11. Wait a minute, wasn't the stimulus bill a jobs bill. A really big one that cost $800 billion? Why would we need another bill? We did that already, right?
  12. I don't know if that makes Specter a scum. He did his job representing his client. Judge set the bail. I would say he's confused. I don't know how you could jump to the Democratic party in this political climate and support the wacky bills that have been passed after being a Republican for so long. The divide in the parties is as large as I can remember.
  13. In Illinois companies under 50 employees are rated in groups with other small companies. Our rates have actually been quite good historically, less expensive than many larger organizations I've been able to compare. Once you get to 50 employees you're rated on your own which works against companies with older employees or employees that have had catostophic events.
  14. We're gonna shop for the first time in 7 years and until now we've funded 100% of the premium and all the increases for everyone. There are only 12 total employees so it won't be that complicated and the goal will be to continue to pay 100%. A friend of mine with a slightly larger company transitioned to a self-funded program 2 years ago. We'll look at that too.
  15. Hey, we just got our love letter from Blue Cross. 36% increase in HC costs for the company for the next 12 months. I thought this bill would help reduce our costs?
  16. Obama appointed her. What more evidence do you need that she's pro-gay, pro-abortion, pro-amnesty and pro-wealth redistribution? No way he appoints anyone who isn't completely on-board with his agenda. No fukking way.
  17. It's a fair question that deserves an answer.
  18. Why would we be surprised that Obama is making these selections? When you look at how he's governed, it's easy to see that his comments over the last 10 years about social and economic justice were not just passing comments. This is who he is to the core. The cries of marxist and socialist tendencies are well founded.
  19. Don't know and not sure why it makes a difference. The Federal Government has ignored the issue for decades and now we have Pelosi saying "we can't send 12 million people home". Nice Job Nancy.
  20. Lyndon Johnson = Dick Jauron. Neither had a winning record. Both made bad decisions.
  21. The feds don't realize that they are creating an atmoshphere of racism and a significant race divide between latinos and non-latinos. There is and has been a rising animosity toward latino illegals due their disrespect of our laws and that millions are here for the wrong reason. The animosity is very well founded. We wouldn't have the animosity if the border was secure (years ago) and those that are here were here lawfully. Everyday we don't resolve it increases the racial divide IMO and there will be a high societal price.
  22. There is nothing subjective in the measure of what he has spent and on what it has been spent. Congress is carrying out his agenda and he has signed off on all of it. The numbers tell the story. There is nothing subjective in judging his response to the Arizona immigration law. He knew about it before it was signed. He criticized it before and after it was signed and has failed through the entire issue to recognize that people want the border secured. He's failed to recognize that this is a federal law already. His response has only been to have the justice department review the Arizona law with the thought of repealing it. He's ignoring the issue of border security and deliberately so. He doesn't need Congress to address it. He's doing nothing to solve it. I could go on and on all day and night.
  23. Why is it that you can't see the folly in his policies and have to use race as the reason he's criticized?
  24. Sounds to me like it's more evidence that the offense still sux.
  25. It's already open in the oval office.
